Chapter Twenty Seven - The Threat
I yawned as I settled into the comfort of Edward's car. After school. We spend most of the time in the meadow, before I went back to his and listened to him play. I was quite tired now.
"Jackie." I groaned "Jack." i shook my head. I heard him sigh then he pulled me out and lifted me into his arms as if he was carrying a child. I was semi conscious when I heard him talking to Jasper, something about waiting for Bella to come home. There was talking and then not talking.
"Jackie, wake up now." The seriousness in his voice jolted me awake.
"What is it?" He put me down and ran off.
"Bells?"
"Come on." We went upstairs.
"Edward? Edward what's going on?" I asked
"Someone's been here." He came out
"Here too." I heard Jasper.
"Someone's been in our rooms? Another vampire?" I wonder.
"We need to tell the others." I was taken back out before I could even say Hi to dad. At the Cullen house Edward was telling the others
"Did you recognise the scent?" Carlisle asked
"Stranger. Didn't recognise his scent." I sat holding my sisters hands
"Nomad, passing through?" Esme wondered
"A passerby wouldn't have left their father alive."
"The scent disappeared about five miles south of the house." Jasper and Emmett came back after they tracked the scent.
"Someone has to be orchestrating this."
"Victoria?" I wonder.
"No, I would have seen her decide." Alice denies
"The Volturi then." Edward stated
"I don't think it's the Volturi's either. I've been watching Aro's decisions too."
"So we keep looking." Emmett confirmed.
"We'll also take shifts a guarding the girls house." Carlisle added
"Another protection detail?" Rosalie sounded annoyed
"Rosalie." Carlisle warned
"No she's right. You can't protect us, watch my Dad and search for the intruder." I say
"And Victoria." Rosalie continued
"And keep yourselves fed." Bella finished
"We're not going to leave you here defenceless."
"Well we're not going to let you starve. Besides I can take care of myself. That and I have..." I trail off thinking of my friends.
"I need to make a phone call." I got up and found my way out of the house.
"Call Elijah."
"Calling Elijah." I waited for him to answer.
"Jacqueline, what a surprise."
"Hey." I replied
"What is the matter." I sighed, he could see right through me.
"I need your help." I told him everything what was going on. He told me that he would come and he would ask the others. I went back inside and sat down."
"Where did you go." Edward asked
"Call for help." The continued talking when my phone rang.
"Elijah, Elijah, Elijah."
"Hello." I answered
"Jacqueline. Some of us have arranged to reach you on the next flight. The other's are staying behind, we're having some difficulties of our own."
"Thank you. Wait, Do you want explain or shall I?"
"We both shall explain, when we get there."
"Okay see you soon." I hung up I could sense the question looming in the air.
"Yes well. I have friends too, friends that can help. Bella you have the wolves, we'll be fine." I laughed nervously.

I jolted my leg nervously as I sat on the step of my house. Dad had gone to work and Jake was arguing with the boys, while Bella tried to stop them. I stood up
"Enough you lot. " I called
"This is ridiculous. Fighting when me and my family's life is in danger.."
"We don't need them." Edward sneered
"We do. We need all the help we can get." Before I knew it I was picked up and spun around. I screamed a little when I heard a familiar laugh
"Kol, you ass. Put me down." I was put down. I shoved him.
"Ouch, darling. Aren't you please to see me."
"You're hilarious. freaking dumbass."
"Jacqueline, please would you kindly refrain from using such language."
"Elijah." I beamed
"Who are you." I heard Jake.
"You're elders so have some respect." I heard Rebekah.
" 3 out of four. I am lucky."
"Don't forget about us." I heard Hayley and Elena.
"Of course not" I hugged them
"Hey squirt."
"Damon. Your breath reeks of Burbon." I joked and hugged him.
"Hey, Jack."
"Tyler." I hugged him last of all
"Jackie who are these people." my smile dropped hearing Edward's voice.
"I think it best if you call a family meeting."

We were all standing in the Cullen living room.
"Jacqueline." Elijah prompted me.
"Sorry, yes. How do I start."
"Awkwardly." I heard Kol
"Shut it. Kol. "
"Why don't you start with introduction, Jackie." Carlisle offered
"Okay. we have Kol, Rebekah, Elijah, Elena, Hayley, Tyler and Damon. Cullens. My sister Bella. And Carlisle, the leader of the coven, Esme his wife. Then Emmett, Rosalie, Alice, Jasper, my sister's boyfriend. And this is my boyfriend Edward." I held my hand against his chest.
"Both sides are vampires."
"Vampire's that's impossible." Bella breathed
"Says the human." Rebekah clicked her tongue.
"Bekah. Please. Jacqueline is correct, most who are here are vampires. Hayley and Tyler are hybrids."
"Hybrids?" Carlisle asked
" Vampire werewolf. That is a different story. The truth is I've known about vampires since I was 10. Elijah and his other brother, trained and tutored me for a year."
"We are a different kind of vampire to you and your family."
"How?" Esme questioned
"We're pure vampires, darling"
"Kol, refrain from speaking." Elijah sighed "We turned into vampires by a witch thus making me and my siblings the first in existence. 200 years later another witch tried to copy our mother's work, which came you're breed of vampires."
"So you knew about vampires all this time?" Edward asked me
"Orginals and descendants. Yes, when I found out about you I had no idea, you're so different from each other. You're not like them. I was confused."
"You still could have told me."
"Jacqueline is very loyal."
"I owe them everything."
"You owe us nothing, my dear. The woman you've become is payment enough." Elijah replied
"We hear you have a problem with a red head." Kol stated
"Victoria. She wants to kill us because they killed her mate, James. James was sadistic and makes Nik, look like the Easter bunny. Bella and I almost died."
"Not for the last time, from what I remember." Rebekah muttered
"We're here to help." Elijah stated.
And so, the two kinds, worked with the wolves who were less than impressed at another vampire species. But they put up with it. For the sake of keeping Bella, Charlie and I safe
