I woke up the next morning
Or afternoon, rather
And decided that
I was much too tired
To even think about last night.
Perhaps I had dreamt
The whole thing
Which seemed very likely.
I would go with that idea
Presumably because I wanted to forget
All about a mysterious girl
Who didn't want to love me.
However a part of me
Wanted to cling to her
And latch on so that her memory
Was forever in my grasp.
I needed that little something
In my life
That could erase the pain
And if thinking of her was enough
Then that was what I would do.
So I was left with the burning question
Of if Rose were simply
A figment of imagination
Or a real person
Who had given me an adventure
In mere hours.
I realized that the only way
To figure out if she was
Not an illusion
Was to return back to the club
Where she would undoubtedly be
Drinking and partying
And forever mourning
The boy that she loved and lost.
