What are you doing, Human?

Fluffy was a cur, but she was my mutt, with dominant black lab features, and she was my constant companion. As I grew up she was my partner in romping, digging snow tunnels in the huge drifts, and in the summer she went fishing with me. Many days fishing was a bust, especially fishing with a lure in the early spring or late fall months in Missouri weather, but I would go to the back pond, and of course free-roaming Fluffy would tag along. After hours of fishing, all I caught was submerged leaves fallen from the oak tree we were under. One fall, while fishing, Fluffy suddenly went into the water; her head disappeared beneath the surface, and when she returned she carefully placed a single brown leaf at my feet. I laughed uncontrollably when I realized she was my own fishing dog. "Come on, Fluffy. It is time to go home, fishing is done for today."
