Chapter 7
~Sutton's POV~
"Do you want to grab a bite to eat?" Jack asked me. Is he an option??? Okay that was weird. "I'd like that." I said smiling at him. He smiled and we started walking.
"So you have no idea who else is going to be a MagCon Girl?" He said raising his eyebrows. I shrugged. "I have a couple of ideas.." I said hinting. He narrowed his eyes at me. "So you do know." I nodded. "Of course I do." I said. "Who do the guys think will be there?" He poked at his food. "Any hot girl really." He said with a laugh. I furrowed my eyebrows. I was excited to meet everyone, but like what if they're expecting girls wayyyyy prettier than me. Like Lycia Faith is going to be there. She's stunning. All of the other 8 girls were. I just hope I'll fit in. "They're going to love this then," I said with a smirk. He laughed quietly. "Who is it?" I shook my head, "I'm not telling you!" He pouted at me, crossing his arms like a child. I just smiled at him. "You're going to meet them in a bit! Let's just say that it's a good group. Bart did good. And believe me, you'll like them." He nodded smiling at me. "I bet you're right. I mean there's going to be 9 of the prettiest and funniest girls in one event. Who wouldn't like that?"
"8," I said quietly poking at my salad. "I thought there was going to be 9 MagCon girls?" He asked confused. I shook my head again. "There is going to be 9," I said not bothering to look at him. He quietly laughed again. "If only you knew," I heard him say under his breath.
"So when are we going to write this song?" He asked with sudden enthusiasm.
"Whenever you feel like it. Like you said we have a couple of days before Magcon. We should have it ready by then." I said throwing away my salad, and we walked. I'm not quite sure exactly where we were going, but we just walked around the airport for a bit. "Well, you could come to my room tonight and we could start?" He asked, glancing sideways at me. "Or I could come to yours that's cool too," he said quickly. "You're not staying in the same room as Jack and Sammy?" I asked, I thought they always roomed together.
"I am, but it's like a conjoined room. There's 3 bedrooms in the room. We'd probably get more work done in your room," He said. "Unless you're staying with one of the girls."
"Nope," I answered. "It's just me."
"Alright, sounds good," he said with a smile. At that's moment we both saw Sammy and Jack Johnson sitting on a bench outside of the airport. "Is this just going to be a Sutton and Jack thing, or a Sutton and Jack and Jack thing?" He asked curiously. I looked at him "You pick," I said with a shrug.
I thought about it for a second. It would be a bit off for us to write a song without his other half. But then again that would give us time together. Seeing as he's been like a little obsession of mine for the past couple of months, I wouldn't mind spending a couple hours alone with him. But would he find that weird..?
"Let's really surprise them, and just make it us," He said questioningly. I smiled widely at him. "I'll come to your room at 9 then," he whispered to me as soon as we reached Sammy and Jack.
Both Sam and Jack stood up when we got to them. "Dude I've been trying to call you for the past 15 minutes," Jack J complained. Jack pulled his phone from his pocket and sure enough, the entire screen had Missed Call from Jack Johnson down it.
"Hey my bad," he said, I just giggled. "We would have called Sutton here..." Sammy said, "But we don't have her number.." I blinked. "Oh!" I said automatically trading phones with Jack then Sammy and then Jack Johnson.
"There," said Jack Johnson. "That way if we get lost or something you can just call one of us." I locked my phone, sliding it into my back pocket. "Or if you ever need to talk to a certain someone, feel free to give any of us a call," Sammy said grinning. I smiled back at him, only to catch Gilinsky rolling his eyes at him.
Two loud honks broke our silence, "OH MY GOD IS THAT JACK GILINSKY, JACK JOHNSON, SAMMY WILKINSON, AND SUTTON KHOL?!" Taylor yelled from his car, "Hey man!" Sammy yelled back with a wave.
"Hurry up! I've been waiting on you guys for 45 minutes, what the the hell took so long?" Taylor asked giving all of the guys a bro hug. "And looky here, we finally meet Sutton" he said going in for a hug. "Welcome to The family." He said to me. I smiled at him.
"Well, we should probably start heading back. You know introduce Sutton and catch up with the guys a bit," Taylor said opening the car door for me. "Hey dude I called shotgun!" whined Jack Johnson, I laughed. "It's fine go ahead," I said trying to squeeze between Gilinsky and Sammy.
"Here," Jack said. "Trade me spots, you look a little cramped." He opened the door for me and we switched seats.
I was now pressed against the window, with Jack's shoulder touching mine.
I caught Jack throwing dirty looks at Sammy, when his hand accidentally brushed my thigh. "Sorry," he said putting his arm behind my headrest. I have no idea what was up with Jack and Sammy. You could basically FEEL the tension rolling off of the both of them.
"So Sutton.." Taylor said drawing my attention away from Jack. "Do you think you're going to be able to handle dealing with us?" He said with a laugh. "I'm not too worried about it," I said with a glance at Jack who was looking at me through the corner of his eye.
Too soon almost we stopped in front of a massive hotel. Taylor tossed his keys to the valet, "Don't scratch her." He said handing him a $20. They all helped me with my luggage and we made our way inside.
"Ballroom number three is where everyone is at right now," Taylor said walking towards a hall. "I'll see you four there after you unpack!"
"Hello Miss Khol," an older woman said from behind the front desk. She checked my ID and my room reservation before handing me three room keys. "You will be staying in room 1105, you will find it on the eleventh floor, all the way down on your right." I smiled at her taking the room keys, "Thank you very much!" I said, "You're very welcome," she responded with a warm smile.
"You three will be in 1326. That will be on the thirteenth floor, first room to your left." I heard her saying to the guys.
"Enjoy your stay!" She said as we walked towards the elevator.
We rode up the elevator in silence, I got off at my floor, waving back at them. "I'll see you guys down there!" I said turning around.
Right before the door shut I heard "Dude where are you going?!" Then a ding. I turned back around to see Jack Gilinsky a couple of steps behind me.
"What are you doing?" I asked him. "Your room is two more floors up." I said confused. He walked by my side.
"I just wanted to see where your room was so I wouldn't have to look everywhere for it later," he said casually. I nodded, "Oh that makes sense." He was still carrying his bags. "You're still staying with them right..?" I asked pointing to his suitcase. "Oh yeah," he nodded.
We passed multiple rooms.

Finally stopping in front of 1105. I fumbled around looking for my wallet which is where I had put the room key. "Can you hold this?" I said handing him my purse, turning away to look in the side pockets of my suitcase. I swear if I had already lost all three of those keys..
I heard a card slide then a door open. I turned to see him opening the door for me.
The room was massive, not gonna lie. It had two beds, a huge bathroom, a small kitchen area, and an amazing view overlooking the entire city of Nashville. I set my suitcases down next to the bed closests to the window.
"Sorry," he said. I had forgotten he was standing there. "It was sitting right on top."
"Oh," I said awkwardly. "I don't know how I could have missed that." He smiled at me, "You probably want this back.." He said holding the room key out to me. I shook my head. "No you keep it, you'll be back in a couple of hours. I think it's going to take more than a day or two to get this whole thing written, you know?" He looked at the key then back at me. "Are you sure..?" He asked, already putting the room key in his wallet. "Yeah sure it's not like you're going to barge in here for nothing." He frowned. "I can just knock," he said trying to hand it back to me. "No really it's fine," I said pushing his hand back towards him.
"Okay well," he said stepping towards me. "I'll see you in a bit?" I said with a hopeful smile. "Hahaha," he laughed. "Yeah I'd say in about 20 minutes," he said giving me a side hug. He turned to
walk out, but then he set something down on the table and closed the door behind him.
Absentmindedly I started unpacking everything. Hanging my clothes up, putting socks and stuff in the dresser, and I organized my toiletries in the bathroom.
I looked at myself in the mirror. My long hair had waved during the flight and my makeup was looking rough. I touched up this and that. I wanted to make a good impression on everyone since this was going to be the first time I'm meeting my new "family."
Finally on my way out, I stopped to see what Jack had left on the table.
It was one of his room keys.
