Approximately one week earlier
"Akane, you'll be fine by yourself, right?" Ms. Kirigakure asked. Nodding, I adjusted the strap on my bag and repositioned my feet, gripping Satsugaisha.
About thirty minutes later.
"Ah!" I screamed and swung my sword around frantically, trying to swipe away the moths. "Help!" I screamed again and covered my face as the moths swarmed around me.
I guess I was wrong about being okay on my own. I sat there, not wanting to look up or move until I was sure they were gone. "Ichikawa, are you alright?" Suguro's voice chimed in. I slowly looked up and a slight smile spread across my face. I jumped to my feet and wrapped my arms around his chest, hugging him.
"I'm fine now. Thanks." I told him. Suddenly, he looked passed me and his eyes widened slightly. "Come on." He grabbed my hand and ran into the bushes.
We found ourselves looking at Rin kneeling down by Shiemi who was lying on the ground. Everything from then on was..it was just something I choose not to remember.
