ELIMINATION

PREFACE
I did what I had to do to get him back to his mother. The way his mother was screaming afraid that her son would be eliminated, I couldn't watch it happen. Especially knowing that I could have done something to prevent it from happening. Our parents elimination was heart breaking for Trevor and I. I know that our parents our still alive. Just that they are somewhere hidden...
CHAPTER I
When I wake up I have goosebumps on my body from the cold weather outside. My back aches from the wooden bed I sleep on, and I am getting a headache from the noise outside. Even though it is making me curious.
I slowly remove the blanket from my body, and attempt to stand up without using my bed as support. It's kind of painful, but I manage to do it anyway.
My midnight blue sleepwear dress is all wrinkled, and my long, black hair is all over my face. It blocks my eyesight until I move it away.
"What is that noise" I say quietly. My voice sounds a little scratchy. Probably because I just woke up. I know that I won't be able to find out what's happening through my window because it's almost impossible to see through it, and one of Capri's rules are no lifting of windows. Stupid right, I mean what's the point of having one then!
The only way I am going to find out what's happening outside is to go outside myself. I should be dressed for the weather before I go outdoors. I kneel to look under my bed, and find my box that I keep my clothes, and shoes in. Its not very big, because I don't own a lot of clothes.
I spot a coat, pants, and it's very easy to find my boots because it's the only pair of boots I own, and I only own 2 pairs of shoes altogether.
I slip my sleepwear dress off my body, and put my clothes, and shoes on quicker than I usually do. I guess curiosity is starting to get the best of me.
Once I'm finished I leave the room and close the door behind me. I slowly walk by Trevor's room, and I can tell he is asleep. There is no way I can leave the house when he is awake without any questioning.
I open the front door, and walk outside slowly closing the door behind me. I immediately hear screams of a woman. It's coming from a crowd of people, and I instantly know what's happening. I quickly run to the crowd'a direction, and squeeze myself through to get a better view. "Please, stop Jason didn't do anything." The woman screams loudly. She is being guarded by an eliminator, and is reaching her arm out for a boy. He must be her son, he looks at least my age. From what I can see his attractive. His body is well built, and his hair is short, but brown.
"He didn't do anything!" I yell loudly I don't even remember making the decision to do so, but I can't take the words back. Everyone turns, and stares at me including the boy.
"Well what was he doing?" One of the eliminators asked quickly. "He was with me, and I promise he didn't do anything bad." My voice softens at the last part. Actually I have no knowledge of what he did, or did not do. I just know that it probably was something stupid, and doesn't deserve elimination.
I look over to the boy who is staring at me. I don't blame him, because to him I am some random girl who is trying to prevent him from getting eliminated.
"What makes you think that we believe you?" "I don't know." I say quickly. That probably wasn't the best response. "Come here." The eliminator says slowly. I look around, and slowly walk over to him. He is pale, and has brown eyes, and hair. Quickly he grabs my coat jacket, and pulls me to him. "I'll let your little friend go, but you have to give me something in return. I spit in his face, and knee him in the groin. The impact wasn't hard enough, and he manages to grab me, and slap me. I fall on my knees, and cradle my face in my hands. It hurts horribly. The first face I find is Jason's. He is looking down instead of at me. His mother has both of her hands covering her mouth. I slowly get up, and walk over to him. Invading all of his personal space. "If you let him go, and whatever it is the first time he won't do it again, and if he does you can eliminate me instead." I say codly. "Fine. I would love to see you disappear." "Elimination Terminated." He says loudly. The whole crowd turns, and leaves. Except for a blonde haired girl who is very pretty, and his mother.
The blonde girl runs to him after the other eliminators set him free. He hugs her, and walks over to me. He picks me up, and swings me around. He puts me back on the ground, and hugs me tightly. I may not want to admit it, but the way his muscles, and hair feel against me makes me feel good. He let's go of me, and stares into my eyes, and leans in toward me. Then suddenly the girl with blonde hair comes, and kisses him in front of me.The first thought in my head is to knock her head off, but he isn't my boyfriend or anything so there is no reason to do so.
I turn away, and walk towards his mother. She is a beautiful older woman with hair and eyes just like her son. She is a little shorter than her son, but a good height. "Are you okay?" I ask her softly. She doesn't answer, but she hugs me tightly. When I turn around to leave I hit something hard. When I look up it's her son. I didn't even hear him come behind me. My hands press into his waist, and my head is laying on his chest. "I'm so sorry he says quickly." I quickly back up, and his girlfriend walks toward me. "Jason what do you see in her you think she is nothing right?" She asks looking up at him. I look up to see his face when he gives his anwser.
"Yeah I don't even know the girl she seems desperate." He says slowly. "Jason!" His mother says scolding him. I get angry, and my face turns red. I turn around passing his mother quickly. "Wait!" I hear him yell. I start crying, and I stop with my back facing him. Then I finally get the courage to turn around. Before he can say anything or explain I slap him as hard as I can. Both his mother, and girlfriend cover their mouths with their hands. "I helped you, and you call me desperate. I took a hit for you! That eliminator, remember him he asked to have sex with me! That's why I hit him. I wasn't being desperate when I helped you. I just didn't want something to happen to you, that happened to me when I was 7 years old Jason!"
He looks at me, and I can see in his beautiful, brown eyes that he is sorry, but I am not ready to forgive him.
"Jennifer, what's going on?" I hear someone say. The voice belongs to Trevor, my brother. I turn around quickly, and he walks toward me. "Jennifer have you been crying?" He asks raising an eyebrow while frowning. "I didn't know Jennifer had a brother." I hear the girl say. Now I really want to knock her head off, and I am angry enough to do so without feeling a hint of guilt afterwards.
"What is your name?" I ask the blonde girl harshly "Samantha, why?" She asks putting her hand on her hip. "Samantha go away or the next thing you will be able to say is stop while I am slamming your head into a wall!"
"Jennifer!" I hear Trevor say. He grabs my shoulder, and it hurts, but I show no sign of pain. "What's gotten into you? Tell me what happend." I weaken up, and start to cry on his shoulder. I feel weak, betrayed, and broken. "Let's go." I hear him say. He walks me towards our house, and I can't help but to look back.
I see Jason, his mother, and Samantha standing there. Jason turns around and walks away from them, and they slowly follow behind.
CHAPTER 2
My head is hurting, because I just explained to Trevor everything that happened, and now I am sitting on my bed receiving a harsh lecture from Trevor. I hear him say our mother's name, and that is when I zone back in our conversation.
"Mom would provably think that this was a very brave act." Then he takes a deep breath. "Jennifer I just don't want to see you get hurt." I feel guilty now. Like I should have informed him on everything that happend. But how was I supposed to know that I would do that. "Because your brave." I hear Trevor say. He stands up, and walks out of the room. He answered me, without even knowing the question.
