Eleanor’s POV
Looking at the tabloids, they finally found Harry Styles. Just what I needed for that twit to come back and ruin things between Louis and me. Now Louis is off trying to see him while he leaves me here eight months pregnant with his twins. Ugh can’t believe Louis was still pinning after Harry, doesn’t he realize he is with me. We are about to start a family together. Then that twit doesn’t even remember Louis breaking up with him. They can’t expect to keep the truth from him forever, he was going to find sooner or later. He needs to find out not, I thought to myself and picked up the phone.
“Mercy Hospital,”
“I need to be connected to Harry Styles room please.”
“I’m sorry ma’am no one is allowed to talk to him unless authorized.”
“But it’s very important that I speak to him!” I yelled at the woman.
“Ma’am you need to calm down and like I said unless you on the authorized list I can’t help you.” Ugh people are such idiots and I know that Liam is behind all this.
“Well can you at least give him a message?” I asked as calmly as I could.
“All I can do is take your message and if they choose to give to him, they will. Other than that, it’s out of my hands.”
“Ugh you people are completely and utterly useless!” I yelled into the phone then threw it against the wall. I watched at it broke in half, great now I’m going to need a new phone. I needed to find another way to get to Harry, I started to pace around the flat. Ugh my back was killing me; I couldn’t wait until the twins were born. I hated how big I have gotten, even my feet were huge. I looked down at my feet and noticed I was standing in water. Where was this water coming from? Then I felt a sharp pain shoot through my belly. Crap I think I’m going into labor. I hunched over as the pain grew stronger.
“Ugh where’s the phone,” I scanned the room for the landline. I finally spotted it on the side table. Picked it up and dialed the hospital.
“What’s your emergency?” the men said as I cried out in pain.
“I need an ambulance; I think I’m going into labor.” I tighten my grip on the phone as I was hit with another contraction. I groaned in pain, I could feel sweat drip down the side of my face.
“Ok ma’am I’m going to need you to calm down and is there anyone with right now.”
“Ah if there was someone here with me do you think I would be the one calling.” I barked at him.
“Is there anyone who can wait with you until the ambulance arrives?”
“No there isn’t, now would you stop asking stupid questions and send the damn ambulance already!”
“Ma’am it’s on the way, I will stay on the line with you until it arrives.”
“Ahh what good is it to stay on the line with you, unless you plan on coming over here and having this baby for me!”
“Ma’am I’m just trying to help you stay calm.”
“Well you’re not doing a very good job at it, now are you?”
“Ma’am you need to relax, you’re going to end up putting the baby in a stressful environment. Just take a deep breath and calm down.” As much I was angry I did as he said, after all they were my babies too. I took a deep breath as I was hit with another contraction. It had made lessen the pain a little bit, I could feel my heart rate slow down a little. “How are we doing so far ma’am?”
“A little better, but I would feel a whole lot better when the ambulance gets here.” I said as I continued with the breathing.
“Ok ma’am it should be there any moment, is there anyone we can call for you? Where is the father or your parents?” I was completely alone, My parents were dead, Louis was off trying to see Harry and Larson and Shelby were gone. I didn’t have anyone to be here with me, I felt the tears slowly fall down my cheeks.
“I don’t have any one that you can call, I’m alone.” I said through my tears.
“Ok ma’am don’t worry, everything is going to be alright.” I took a deep breath and I released it as there was a knock on the door. Thank god they are finally here, I said as I slowly walked over to the door.
“Ok they are finally here,” I opened the door to find a woman and man.
“Ma’am we are going to need you to tell us how far apart your contractions are.” The woman said as she started to check my blood pressure.
“Um I’m not really sure, just that they are pretty close together.”
“Ok ma’am we are going to take you to the hospital. Is there anyone we can call, like the father?”
“No you can’t, my husband is out of the country at the moment. The only other family or friends I have are out of town.”
“We could contact them for you if you will just give us the phone numbers.” I nodded my head and give them the numbers. They helped me onto the stretcher and took me to the ambulance. The whole ride to the hospital was a blur, everything was happening so fast. The contractions were getting stronger, before I knew it we were at the hospital.
“Ok ma’am we were able to get a hold of your friend Larson and he said he was on his way.” I let out a sigh of relief, I wasn’t going to be alone for much longer. “We are going to take you into the delivery room, your doctor has been called in and he is on his way.” I nodded my head as the wheeled me into the room. The nurses helped me onto the bed; they tried to make me as comfortable as they could. I felt miserable and was in so much pain. I just wanted to have these babies already, I was thinking if they have been able to reach Louis. I can’t believe he isn’t going to be here for the birth of his twins. He was the one that wanted them and yet he wasn’t here.
“Eleanor how we feeling?” the doctor asked as he checked me.
“Not to good, just in a lot of pain.” I saw the look on the doctor’s face and I started to worry. “What’s wrong with the babies?”
“It looks like the umbilical cord is wrapped around one of the babies’ neck. I’m afraid we are going to have to perform an emergency C-section.” My heart started to beat faster, I was scared and I was alone. “Eleanor I’m going to need you to calm down, we can’t have you raising your blood pressure more. You’re putting the babies at risk by doing that.” I tried my best to relax, but all I could do was think about what could happen. What if I didn’t make it or what if the twins didn’t makes? “Eleanor look at me we are going to give you a sedative to help you relax before we wheel you into the operating room.” The doctor said as he held my face in his hands. Soon I started to feel really woozy and the room started to slowly slip away from me before it went completely black.
Doctor’s POV
“Nurse we are going to need that operating room now!” I barked at the nurses around the room. Eleanor was going into shock and we needed to work fast if we wanted to save all three of them. We finally wheeled her into the room and transferred her onto the table. I had hoped the sedative was enough to keep her from feeling the pain; I didn’t have time to fully put her under. I disinfected the area before I made the first cut. I continued to cut until I was at the uterus and I could see the amniotic sac. Once I cut into the sac the nurse started the suction of the amniotic fluid as I used the forceps to hold open the cut. I reached in and pulled out the baby that had the cord wrapped around his neck, once I had him out I worked on getting the next one out. As soon as I had both twins out, I started to work on closing the wound until I heard the heart monitor flat line.
“Doctor she is fading fast.” One of the nurses loud.
“Get the paddles ready,” I yelled as I started to perform CPR on her. She wasn’t responding, I took the paddles from the nurse next to me. “Clear.” I yelled as I pressed the paddles down on Eleanor. Her body jerked, but she still wasn’t responding. I tried again and still got nothing. “Dammit come Eleanor don’t give up on me now. I tried one more time and no luck; I had no other choice but to call time of death. I looked at the clock on the wall. “Time of death twelve ten.” I looked down at Eleanor and then back at her twins, they were completely alone right now. No matter how many times I have seen this in my career, I couldn’t help but feel like I could have tried harder. I had one of the nurse’s finishes up; I walked up to the nurse station.
“Have we had any luck in trying to reach Louis Tomlinson?”
“No doctor we haven’t, but we were just told that a friend of Eleanor just came in.” this was the part he always hated, telling their loves ones that they didn’t make it.
“Where are they?” the nurse pointed to a man seating in the waiting room. I nodded my head and walked over to him. I stood in front of him and cleared my throat to get his attention. He looked up at me, I could see worry written all over his face. “Are you a friend of Eleanor Tomlinson?”
“Yes, I’m Larson how is she.” I place my hand on his shoulder.
“I’m afraid she didn’t make it, as we were performing the C-section, she flat lined. We tried our best to save her, but in the end she was too weak to recover. We were able to save the twins.” I watched as Larson started to cry, it wasn’t easy to hear about your loves ones dying.
“Oh my god she went through all that alone, I knew I shouldn’t have left. Now I don’t even get the chance to see her one more time. Where is her husband, why isn’t he here?” Larson asked, I wanted to know the answer to that question as well. What was so important that Louis would leave his eight month pregnant wife alone?
