He wakes up first and looks at his wife and daughter still cuddling after her feed from two hours ago.
He decided to let them sleep so he got up as quietly as he could to go to the bathroom
After Ava had woken up again at 4, They got mad at each other. Something they try not to do. Granted, being woken up constantly did put an edge on things.
He goes into the kitchen to look for something to eat
A while later she comes down into the kitchen to make her tea
He sat on the stool eating his cereal
She sat in front of him
The both of them took turns looking at each other to see who'd cave in and break the silence
" I'm sorry!" They both suddenly said
" no I'm sorry.." He began
" no..I️
I'm sorry it's my fault" she said
" it just shouldn't go.."
" that far I know"
" look we both get so cranky when we don't sleep.." he said
" yeah.. a crying baby brings it out the worst" she said
" speaking of crying baby where is she?" He asked
"She's sleeping" she said showing him the monitor
" apparently we broke our own rule.." he said
" yea I know.. we kinda just knocked out without resolving it, does it even count?" She asked smiling
" yea I guess not" he said
He held out his hand and she placed her hand in his
" hey!" She said suddenly taking back her hand
" what?" He asked
" I can't believe it's almost Halloween and she doesn't have a costume!" She said
" oh.. does it matter? It's not like she's old enough to go trick or treating.." he said
" for the pictures and for sure next Halloween we'll take her trick or treating.. And get her lots of candy she won't be able to eat " Ally said
" but then what's the point of her..." he began
She rose her eyebrows
" ohhhhh" he smiled " I forget I'm married to an evil genius"
" like taking candy from a baby?" She said " our baby"
..
The family went to a boutique to look for a costume for their daughter
" she can be a zalien!" Austin suggested picking up a zalien costume
" no.. we're not dressing our sweet little daughter like an mutant!" She said
" Oh my God!" Austin said in disgust
" what?" She asked
" how dare you? You call a zalien a mutant? How could you!" He said
She rose an eyebrow at him " very mature Austin"
They continued to search around
" she can be a mermaid!" He suggested "mermaids are cool and girly"
" how about a zebra.." she teased
He looked at her seriously " Ally, you and I both know they don't exist"
" you're nearly 24 years old, and still don't think zebras exist, you're too cute" she giggled
She pushed the stroller around some more to look for costume
" how about a cat?" He asked picking up the cat costume
" I was thinking a lady bug!" She said picking up the lady bug costume
" cat!" He said
" lady bug!" She said
" cat!" He said
" lady bug!" She said
" let's See what She thinks!" He said
She nodded
" Ava!" They both turned to the month old
She spat up and hiccuped
they looked at each other and sighed
" yea.. this is stupid" he said
" yea.." she said
They put back the costumes
" how about a cute overplayed pumpkin.. her costume will be much cooler next year anyway" she said
" yea you're right" he said
Once they got the costume they went home and tried it on right away
" I'm dying she's sooo cute!" Ally said nearly crying
* Ava sneezes*
" aww" they both said
She took so many pictures as he posed her
" aw man she's so cute.. this is the best costume ever.." he said
" yea I know" ally said sweetly " now take it off before she ruins another outfit" he time changed
" aye aye Captain!" He saluted
" she needs a nap.." she said picking up the half naked baby

Austin said on the couch watching Tv when she came down to sit next to him
" she's out?" He asked
" like a light!" She said leaning into him
He smiled down at her " you're so cute"
She looked up at him
" ugh don't call me cute" she whined
" you want me to lie to you?" He asked
" hmm.." she let out
" what's wrong?" He asked " did I offend you by calling you cute? Because you are cute, you're more than cute.. I could stare at you forever."
She rolled her eyes " stop"
He sighed " my god.. you hate when I don't call you cute and now you hate when I do.. I never win do I?"
" let's face it.. you're cute.. and you getting upset isn't changing that fact.. you're making it worse for your self because that damn pout yours honey" he touched her bottom lip
He tried to kiss her
She groaned as he kissed her face
" I just want you to love me" He sang playfully
He pulled her closer and hugged her " I love you"
" I love you too" she said
He kissed her and she went into his arms
...
" let's try this night again" she said
" yes.. working together.. no arguing." He said
She nodded and agreed
He held out his hand
" we're going into this like we're going into war.. we're just putting the baby to bed" she laughed
" it basically is war baby, now give me your hand" he said
She gave him her hand and he pulled her in for a kiss
Ava began to wail
" I'm convinced she hates when we kiss" she said
" she's gonna have to get used to it" he said
She smiled
And with the baby in between them, they gave her a good night kiss
" no arguing." He said
She nodded and agreed
" good night!" They both said before kissing each other
They shut off the light
* cries*
" your turn."
