Barry's Point of View.
Thirty Minutes Later.
We arrived in Keystone city, where the Reptile camp was being held. Since we lived in Central city, Keystone city is only thirty minutes away. Joe drove up to the entrance and parked the car. I then got out of the car and grabbed my bag. Iris got out as well and we all walked inside. I looked in awe as we walked through the glass doors. There were posters about reptiles and interesting facts popping up everywhere. A man came up to us and smiled. His name tag said Bill.
"Hi. My name is Bill. I am one of the counselors.", Bill said as he shook Joe's hand. "Are both these kids enrolled?"
"Oh, no. This is Barry. He's staying here. This is my daughter, Iris. She is not.", Joe replied.
"Oh, well I bet your really excited Barry.", Bill stated.
"Yeah. I am.", I replied.
Bill took out a chart and scanned it.
"Well Barry, it looks like I'm going to be your counselor."
"Cool."
"Well, the sign up sheet is over to the right and the gift shop is over to the left.", Bill said pointing in both directions.
Joe nodded as we walked over to the sign up sheet. I ran ahead of Joe and Iris though. As we were walking, I bumped into someone making her freeze and her glasses fall off her face. I reached down and grabbed her glasses and looked at the girl. She had blond hair, blue eyes, and a tiny scar on her upper part of her forehead that was just above the eyebrow.
"You dropped these.", I told the girl.
She smiled and quickly placed her glasses back on.
"Thank you.", the girl responded.
"Are you ok?"
"Yes."
"Sorry about nocking off your glasses and making you not being able to see anything. You looked pretty freaked out when your glasses came off."
"Ah....yes. Yes. I couldn't see at all without my glasses."
"I'm Barry."
"Kara."
We shook hands and smiled at one another. Then, Joe and Iris came up to us, and so did two other adults along with a girl that looked around Kara's age.
"Kara. Are you ok?", asked the woman.
"Yes. I'm fine.", replied Kara. "Ah, this is Barry."
"Hello Barry.", said the woman. "I'm Eliza Danvers."
"Joe West.", Joe said shaking Eliza's hand. "This is my daughter Iris."
"Hi.", Iris said.
"This is my husband, Jeremiah, and my daughter Alex.", Eliza said.
"Hello. It's nice to meet you.", Jeremiah replied.
"So, you here for Reptile camp?", Joe asked.
"Yes. Kara and Alex are both here for the camp. Is both Barry and Iris?", asked Jeremiah.
"No. Just Barry. Iris isn't big into the whole science camp."
"Me neither. But I'm here.", Alex whispered underneath her breath.
I gave Alex a weird look and Kara seemed to notice.
"Ah, so you excited?", Kara said.
Kara was obviously trying to change the subject for some reason.
"Um, sure.", I replied.
"Barry loves science. You should of seen what he did for his sixth grade project.", Iris cut in.
I put my head down a bit. I didn't want people to acknowledge my skills because I only got those skills from my parents. My mom was especially good at science. My dad was better at social studies. I looked at Iris and motioned for Joe to go over to the sign up sheet. Joe noticed and made a cough noise.
"Well, we better go get Barry signed up for this camp. It was nice meeting you.", Joe said.
"Same here with Alex and Kara. It was nice meeting you also.", Eliza replied.
I smiled at Kara and she smiled back. I then walked over to the sign up sheet with Iris and Joe. The Danvers family stayed where they were. They seemed to be talking about something. I just ignored it though. I signed my name on the sheet and gave my hugs goodbye to Joe and Iris. I watched as they left and then I walked over to Billy. I was ready to finally get some alone time to think, and maybe cry.

Kara's Point of View.
One Hour Later.
We arrived in Keystone city, where the Reptile camp was being held. Since we lived in National city, Keystone city was an hour away. We had to go through Central city to get here. Jeremiah drove up to the entrance and parked the car. Me and Alex then got out of the car and grabbed our bags. Eliza then came out of the car as well and we walked inside. I looked around and saw many posters and signs. I didn't like the big crowd and I felt a little overwhelmed. As I looked up at the posters, I got separated from my foster family. I looked to try to find them, but I ended up bumped into a boy. I froze as my glasses fell off my face. I didn't know what to do. Jeremiah and Eliza told me that my glasses would dampen my powers, but I had to act like I couldn't see without them. I had little time to react as the boy picked my glasses off from the floor. He then looked at me for a second before handing the glasses back to me.
"You dropped these.", the boy said.
I smiled and quickly placed my glasses back on me.
"Thank you.", I responded.
Then, a man and a girl, that looked around Barry's age, came up to us along with Jeremiah, Eliza, and Alex.
"Kara. Are you ok?", asked Eliza.
"Yes. I'm fine.", I replied. "Ah, this is Barry."
"Hello Barry.", Eliza said. "I'm Eliza Danvers."
"Joe West.", the man said. "This is my daughter Iris."
"Hi.", the girl said.
I assumed that was Iris.
I easily heard Alex and I was surprised when Barry gave Alex a weird look. He must of heard her. I decided to try to change the subject.
"Ah, so you excited?", I asked.
"Um, sure.", Barry replied.
"Barry loves science. You should of seen what he did for his sixth grade project.", Iris cut in.
I smiled but I saw Barry put his head down. He looked really depressed and sad. I hated seeing anyone so full of despair. I then saw Barry look up at Iris and motion Joe to go over to the sign up sheet. Joe noticed and fake coughed.
"Well, we better go get Barry signed up for this camp. It was nice meeting you.", Joe said.
"Same here with Alex and Kara. It was nice meeting you also.", Eliza replied.
Barry smiled at me and I smiled back. I watched as Joe, Iris, and Barry walked away. I looked back at the Danvers and Alex gave me a smirk.
"What?", I asked.
"So, is he your boyfriend?", Alex asked.
"Shut up Alex. He's just a friend."
"You shut up!"
"Girls! Enough!", Eliza interrupted.
I looked over to see Barry walking over to a councilor. I then hugged Jeremiah and Eliza and so did Alex. We then went over and signed in. I knew that this would be my one chance to connect with Alex so I had to take this chance.
