Chapter 6:
The buzzing from his phone caused him to reluctantly pull away from his girlfriend who was under him with flushed cheeks. "Sorry." He mumbled apologetically as he checked his phone and saw the message from Stiles.
Imogen sat up, staring at him in concern. "What's wrong?" She asked, taking notice of the worried expression on his face.
"Stiles saw lizard creature at the mechanics. He needs me to pick him up." Scott said, slipping on his jacket. She got up from her bed and began to put on her shoes. "What are you doing?"
She grabbed her bag and sent him a look. "I'm going with you, duh." She walked out of her room, leaving him staring at her dumbfounded before shaking his head slightly as he lightly grinned and followed after her.

Stiles approached his best friends car, he got into the back seat when he saw Imogen in the passenger's seat. The couple turned in their seat to look at him. "You okay?" Scott asked him with concern.
"Yeah." The human boy nodded, still a bit shaken up from what happened. "You were right. It's not like you. I mean, its eyes were almost like, reptilian." He paused. "But there was something about them."
Imogen furrowed her brows as Scott asked him, "What do you mean?"
"You know when you see, like, a friend in a Halloween mask, but all you can actually see are their eyes and you feel like you know 'em but you just can't figure out who it is?"
"Are you saying you know who it is?" The witch asked him, understanding what he meant by the mask.
He sighed, shaking his head. "No, but I think it knew me."
It left to wonder just who it could possibly be.

"Tell me about your boss." Stiles looked at his best friend as they sat on the bottom of the stairs in the school corridor.
Scott sighed, recalling Deaton's words. "He thinks that Allison's family keeps some kind of, uh, records of all the things that they've hunted. Like a book."
He nodded. "He probably means a bestiary."
The werewolf furrowed his brows. "What?"
"A bestiary." He repeated.
Scott chuckled. "I think you mean bestiality." He said in amusement.
"Nope, pretty sure I don't." Stiles deadpanned, not understanding what was going on through his best friends face. He shook his head, letting out a sigh. "It's like an encyclopedia of mythical creatures."
He frowned. "How am I the only one who doesn't know anything about this stuff."
"Okay, you're my best friend, you're a creature of the night, it's kind of like a priority of mine."
"Okay. If we can find it, and it can tell us what this thing is -"
"And who." Stiles finished.
They shared a look, the same thought crossing their minds. "We need that book!"
"What book?"
The two jumped, looking over at Imogen and Lia both staring at them, the girls looking amused by their surprise. "Oh, we were talking about the bestiary that Allison's family might have." Stiles blurted out.
"So, the Argents really have one?" Lia asked, sounding excited about learning more about the other supernatural creatures in the world.
Scott glanced at Imogen who gave him a small smile. "I was asking her if she knew anything about it." She told him as he stood up with Stiles. "But, she's never seen one, only heard of it. She's going to talk to Allison about it since I can't be around her because of her parents."
"That's a great idea." Stiles nodded.
"Which is why I'm going to search for her." Lia said, looking at her fellow witch friend. "I'll text you."
"Okay." Imogen agreed.
Stiles turned to Imogen. "I need to ask you something witchy related."
She blinked. "Okay? What's your question?" She asked a bit warily, sharing a glance with Scott who also looked apprehensive about what was going to come out of his mouth.
The human shifted on his feet. "Can you um you know, fly on a magical broom?" He blurted out.
Her blue eyes twinkled with amusement. "Of course...." She smiled. "Not." She let out a small laugh seeing his pouting expression. "What makes you think that was a real thing?"
"I don't know?" He waved his hands, feeling flustered by his dumb question. "Because you can do stuff with a simple wave of a hand and a few words."
She scoffed, looking bemused. "Your best friend turns into a werewolf. It's not that weird." She muttered, walking away.
Stiles glanced at his best friend, eyeing him before nodding his head slightly. "I guess she's right. You're definitely weirder of you both." He mumbled, trailing after the girl since they had the same class.
"Please don't call my girlfriend weird." Scott said, before looking even more offended. "Or me for that matter." He quickly caught up to them.

Later that night, Imogen sat down on the bench with Lia. She was a bit disappointed that her Uncle Ben couldn't make it since he was working late. But it was better this way since they were planning on finding the Bestiary tonight.
Apparently, Gerard had the book in his office and Stiles was responsible for getting the keys from Allison.
The blue eyed girls eyes fell on her boyfriend who went onto the field before her gaze fell over on the older man sitting next to Allison. She wasn't sure what to make of the old man. She knew what he was capable of since Scott told her about the omega being cut in half and his declaration of war.
"He gives me the heebie jeebies." Lia muttered under her breath.
"You're not the only one." Imogen mumbled back, wrapping her jacket tighter when she felt the cold breeze hit her.
The girls quickly faced forward when Gerard glanced in their direction, both feeling his gaze burning holes on them. Letting out a sigh of relief when they no longer felt his eyes on them. "How scary." Lia breathed, her brown orbs looking on the field at the sound of the whistle. She pursed her lips at the sight of the really huge guy on the opposing team. "So, who do you think is gonna win?"
Imogen winced, seeing one of the lacrosse players knocked to the ground. "I honestly don't know." Her eyes flickered over to Stiles passing Allison by and saw the keys in his hands.
They continued to watch as more players were knocked to the ground and soon were being taken on the field due to injuries.
"Should we try to stop this guy?" Lia whispered quietly.
The blue eyed girl shook her head. "I don't want to use my magic here because of Gerard. And besides, he's human." She paused, grimacing when Eddie Abomowitz knocked another player onto his back. "I think."
On the field, Scott was struggling internally. He knew there was no chance they had against the so called Abomination out on the field and he could obviously knock him down because of his supernatural strength but he couldn't do it because of Gerard. It was frustrating not able to do anything with the fear of being killed by the old man.
That is until he watched Boyd join the field and knocked the other player down. His worry shot up when he saw Boyd's eyes glowing and tried to tell him to get off the field but he went ignored.
On the bleachers, Lia glanced at the message on her phone and nudged Imogen who looked at her curiously. The blonde showed her the message that Allison sent her. The book wasn't in the office.
Scott exhaled in frustration, shaking his head before focusing back on the game. He quickly took the ball before Boyd could get it and ran towards the goal, jumping up and shoot it into the goal. His brief excitement was quickly gone as he was slammed into by another player and fell on his back, his leg taking the fall as loud crunch was heard.
He groaned in pain, hearing the loud whistle.
Imogen was the first one at his side and stared down at her boyfriend in worry. "Your leg." She murmured, staring at the awkward position his leg was in.
"I'm fine, I'm healing, it's okay." He assured her, giving her a smile. "The book?"
She shook her head. "It's not in his office, it's gotta be at Allison's house." Imogen told him quietly, her eyes still on his leg with a frown. "It's still broken."
"Not for long." He mumbled softly, grasping her hand with his gloved one as she helped him stand.
Coach and the rest, including Scott's mom came running. "Don't move." Finstock ordered, seeing him beginning to stand up.
"Scott--" Melissa cried out, believing her son was injured. Lia stood beside her, she gave her friend a look to which Imogen shook her head.
He gave his mom a small grin, standing on his legs. "It's okay. It's okay. I'm fine. I'm fine."
The nurse frowned, eyeing his leg, feeling a pang of confusion. "I could have sworn I literally heard bone breaking from where I sat."
Coach made a face. "Heard it? I felt it."
"Seriously, guys, I'm - I'm fine." He assured them both, his hand clasped in his girlfriends and could feel her tense under his touch.
He glanced at her and noticed her eyes weren't on him, he followed her gaze and saw that Gerard was looking at them, he stiffened. The two seemed relieved when all he did was congratulate him for being the star player tonight to which he forced a smile and thanked him.
The pair managed to get away from the crowd. Imogen glanced at her boyfriend. "You know, we need to get that book somehow."
He nodded. "Yeah, but how? You said that it was more likely at Allison's house."
"Exactly." She said, giving him a look before getting into her car.
He blinked a couple time before finally realizing what she was saying. He looked stunned for a moment before getting into the car. "I really am turning into a bad influence on you, aren't I?"
She thought about it, knowing that she wouldn't have done this before she met him. "A little bit."
Scott chuckled.

The two made their way towards the side of the house where they knew was Gerards room. Imogen made sure to text Lia and ask her if she could ask Allison which room was the one that belonged to the older man.
The couple had managed to get on the top of the roof, Scott gave his girlfriend a slight panicked look when he tried to open the window only to see that it was locked from the inside. She gave him a small smirk, moving her hand slightly and he heard the click. He grinned proudly at her and let her climb in first, he followed soon after. He made sure to listen for anyone coming up the stairs.
"It should be in here." Imogen whispered, pointed to the safe that was in the room.
"Can you open it?" He said in a quiet tone, standing near the door as he listened to the chatter from the Argent family as they dined downstairs.
She nodded, her brows furrowed as she concentrated on the lock. When the door opened slightly, she smiled, feeling pleased with herself. "I got it." She muttered.
"You wanna rob a few banks later?" He joked in a whispered tone.
She gave him an amused smile, shaking her head lightly. "No, thanks. This is enough of an adrenaline rush for me." She began flipping through the book, a frown tugging at her lips. "This isn't it. It's a cookbook."
"What?" He took the book as she handed it to him and he sighed. "That's just great." He put the book back in the safe, shutting it closed.
The two were startled by Scott's phone that started ringing, Imogen gave her boyfriend an alarmed expression. "Turn it off!" She whispered in panic.
"I know." He pulled out his phone, quickly answering it, seeing Stiles name. "I can't talk right now." He told his best friend before hanging up. He could hear the voices downstairs, listening to someone getting up and coming up. "We have to go, now!"
Imogen nodded, the two rushing out the window before jumping down. Well she got help from him as he caught her and she looked back up, shutting the window closed. "Let's go." She whispered, the two ran off towards her parked car at the end of the street.
As soon as they made it to her car, they got in. "Without it we have no idea what this thing is."
"Where else do we look?" She asked him.
"Well, what haven't we thought of?"
She pursed her lips in thought. "Maybe it's not a book. Something else he keeps close to him." She muttered, thinking about what it could be. She instantly recalled the moment that Allison passed Stiles the keys and remembered the usb drive attached to the keyring. She started the car, glancing at her boyfriend with a grin on her lips. "I know where it is."
