I woke up to snuggle with Austin and sighed when I realized he was out of bed already. Even though I took a shower the night before I decided to take another one thinking that Austin would come and join me. While I was in the shower I heard the door open thinking he was on his way in.
"Morning." I said happily, when I didn't hear him say anything I peeked my head out of the shower curtain. Of course he left, what the hell is wrong with him? I muttered.
I quickly cleaned up and got out, dried myself off and noticed that he set a cup of coffee on the sink for me. Well at least he was thinking of me.
I grabbed the coffee and headed into the bedroom, excited that we were about to leave for a trip of a lifetime. I put on one of my new summer dresses that I had set out the night before, it was the perfect sundress that formed to my body. A backless white dress with a colorful floral pattern towards the bottom, I stood in front of the mirror and checked to make sure it looked OK on me.
"Vanessa hurry up the cab is here waiting!" Austin yelled. My god that woman takes forever to get ready.
"I'm almost done, just finishing up on my hair and makeup!" I yell.
The cab driver honked his horn again, Austin went out with our luggage and loaded them in the trunk. "Sorry about the wait" Austin said to the cab driver, "She will be out any second."
She better be dammit, the plane leaves in an hour and a half and we still need to check in and go through security Austin said quietly to himself as he sat inside the car.
I grabbed my white sandals and quickly put them on as I rushed out of the house and into the cab "Sorry, I didn't mean to keep you waiting." I said to the cab driver while I looking at Austin, he didn't look to happy so I smiled and gave him a kiss "I'm sorry, I'm just excited to get on that cruise. I'm still surprised that you are actually taking me on a cruise!"
He smiled and patted my thigh "Just enjoy the trip, there will be plenty of things to do and see." He then reached over cupping the side of my face and gave me a kiss.
We arrived at the airport, grabbed our luggage and checked in. We then had to stand in a long line just to go through security, Austin keep looking at the time thinking we were late and looked like he was fuming at the ears.
We finally got to the gate, sat down and waited to be boarded. Just as they were starting to board the plane Austin's phone rang, he pulled his phone out of his pocket and looked to see who was calling "I'll be right back"
"Hello Kenna." I heard him say quietly as he started walking away.
Kenna? What the hell is she calling him for? I tried listening in but couldn't quite hear what he was talking to her about. Kenna works with Austin at the bank, who I have never cared for, she always seemed to be hitting on Austin, and whenever I try to call him at work, she always answers claiming that he's busy or in a meeting.
"Everything Ok?" I ask him when he came back.
He ran his fingers through his hair "Yes everything is just peachy." He said in a snarky tone.
I could tell something was wrong, but since he never tells me shit I didn't even bother asking him what the problem was. We then boarded the plane and sat down on our seats. I pulled my phone out of my purse and shut it off, I then looked over at Austin and my stomach dropped when I noticed him reading a text message from Kenna.
He must have seen me looking since he quickly messaged her back and turned his phone off. He didn't say a word, just leaned his head back in the seat and closed his eyes.
At that moment a million things started running through my mind, rather than getting all worked up over nothing I chose to let it not bother me. I figured that he would tell me eventually.
When we arrived in Miami, we headed straight over to the cruise port. As I was standing there admiring the view of the port, and the ships all around I then saw darkness as I felt someone covering my eyes. I turned around to see Lexi standing there with a big smile.
"Lexi!" I screeched in excitement, giving her a hug. "What are you doing here?"
"Well.. when you first told me about the trip, I was just so excited for you and a little jealous." She giggled. "I then started thinking that I wanted to be with my best friend after she got engaged to enjoy the happiness with her. I spoke to Drake about joining you and Austin, at first he said no to let the two of you be, but after begging for a while he finally agreed. So I went online and looked to see if their were any availabilities, and well... now we're here."
I couldn't believe that she was here, and I was more than happy about it "Well I'm glad that you came, I'm sure we will all have some fun together." I turned to look at Austin and shrugged my shoulder and sighed when I saw him on his phone. "I have no idea If he's popping the question or not, he's been acting very strange since he got home, and now Kenna has been calling and texting him all morning." I said quietly.
"Well it could be just his nerves, you know some guys get extremely nervous before they pop the big question. Maybe he is?" Lexi tried assuring her. "And as for Kenna, we all know that she's a bitch and that there's nothing you should worry about with her."
"If you say so." I say quietly, still unsure about it. "I just have a really bad gut feeling, and I'm just not sure how to feel or think."
She gave me a nudge and smiled "If he's cheating on you, I'm sure he wouldn't have done a trip like this for you."
I took in a deep breath and looked down at the ground, I then looked over at Austin again trying to figure him out. He's standing there looking happy and smiling while he was talking on the phone, I look back at Lexi and smiled.
"Well, I guess you're right... at least I hope so. I'm just really glad that you're here, it already looks like he's going to be ignoring me."
Austin finally got off of the phone and looked for Vanessa, he started walking around and stopped when he spotted Lexi talking with Vanessa, and Drake standing nearby. What the fuck are they doing here? He groaned.
"What are you two doing here?" Austin asked as he approached Lexi and Drake.
"Austin?!?" I asked, hearing his tone of voice surprised me. He looked at Drake, which all Drake did was shrug his shoulders and pointed at Lexi.
"Well I'm here for Vanessa, is that not OK?" She asked, giving him a questioning look "I just figured it would be a lot more fun for you two if you both had friends to hang out with at times." Lexi put her hands on her waist and twisted her lips as she looked at Austin, worried that he's pissed that they had shown up.
"Don't worry we will be doing our own things too." Lexi assured Austin.
"You're right, she would have more fun with you here, she'll probably get bored with me anyways." He said with a chuckle after thinking about it for a moment.
"Drake my man, how the hell are you?" He asks while shaking his hand. "It's good to see you." Drake shook his hand and smiled.
"I'm good.. sorry about us showing up like this, I did try talking Lexi out of coming here."
"It's fine.. really. I should have asked her if you two wanted to come along with us, it was all last minute so I didn't even think about it.
"Well I hope that you're OK with it, I don't want to intrude on your vacation with Vanessa." Drake said as he looked over at the girls.
"Seriously, I'm glad that you both came." Austin smiled, walking away waving for Drake to follow.
"Shall we?" Austin said, as he walked over and placed his hand on the small of my back. I then wrapped my arm around his waist as we walked toward the cruise ship. When we finally got inside after standing in line that felt like nearly two hours, my eyes had widened when I saw how amazing it looked, it was something I was not expecting to see.
"Oh wow!" Lexi said in awe as she looked around.
I walked away from Austin and wrapped my arm around Lexi's "Were going to have to go walk around and check the entire place out after we get settled into our rooms."
"Let's go find our rooms, and get settled in. Then I could use a drink." She giggled.
"Where is your room located?" I asked.
"You're not going to believe this, but we're actually three rooms down from yours. I was actually shocked to see that a balcony room was still available." She smiled.
"Wow, that's cool." I smiled, then paused as I looked at the map of the ship. "Actually it's not cool, it's perfect." I say as I looked over at Austin.
Just fucking great, just what I wanted to hear. Austin mumbled as he walked towards me.
"What did you say?" I asked.
"Couldn't be any more happier." He said. "Let's go."
