Ria's POV
"Anyone able to talk with their deity yesterday?" I asked out of boredom. Nakahiga ako sa sofa atsaka kumakain ng popcorn. Nakasquat naman yung tatlong girls sa carpet. Nag mo-movie marathon kami.
The boys are out dahil sila ang inutusan naming bumili ng groceries.
Nakatanggap ako ng iling at 'no'. Hmm. Akala ko ba strongest ang connection namin sa mga deities kahapon.
"Umm... ako.." napatingin kami kay Thea.
"May.. may sasabihin ako sa inyo.. kagabi ko dapat sinabi 'to pero nagkaroon kasi ako ng aftershock..." she pursed her lips for a few seconds. Yumuko rin siya like she was embarrassed to say what she meant to tell us.
Kumunot ang noo ko. "Then say it already." kumuha ako ng popcorn at kinain ito.
"Umm... hindi demigod si Theosese.." my ears jerked up. Sunod-sunod ang pagkuwento niya sa nangyari sa kanya kahapon.
Aaminin ko, mas naging interesado ako sa kuwento ni Thea compared to the movie we're watching.
Pagkatapos, tahimik lang kaming apat kaya't binasag ko ang moment of silence namin.
"I'm happy for you Thea." nginitian ko siya.
She deserves to be happy. Sa tingin ko nga, katumbas na ang naitulong niya sa contribution ni Theosese or Hephaestus sa Academy.
Lahat kami may karapatan malaman ang katotohonan. Lalo na pag kasali na kami sa frame. It is unavoidable that we question our past. Natural lang naman yan.
Napansin ko ang malungkot na ngiti ni Cesia.
Ano nga ba ang history ng anak ni Aphrodite? I can tell she's more than confused too.
Kawawa naman yung kaibigan ko. Di bale... tutulungan ko siya with all that I can just to know who she really is.
Obvious rin naman na nasa pursuit of true identity siya.
I want to know kung sino ang pangalawang deity niya...like where did her anti-time stopping ability come from? At bakit nakikita niya ang past ng isang tao. And with just one look, she can bring that past to the present.
"Cesia..." tinawag ko siya kaya napalingon siya sa'kin.
Nakatanggap ako ng signature 'innocent' smile mula sa kanya.
Umiling ako. "Nevermind."
Akala ko talaga nag-iba ang shade ng mga mata niya. For a moment there, I got scared.
Sa totoo lang, alam ko kung ano ang kaya niyang gawin. It's just that... baka hindi pa handa ang mundo sa supreme divination niya.. if ever it happens sooner or later..
Kapag nagra-rampage kami, Cesia is the one who soothes our rage. But what if magsu-supreme divination na siya? Sino bang makakapigil sa kanya?
I mean, I can't imagine someone doing that.
I shrugged.
I guess I'll find it out at the right time.
"Coool!" puna ni Galatea. Nakalimutan ko, nandito rin pala siya, nakaupo sa unan katabi ni Cesia.
Pumasok ang boys na may dalang grocery bags.
"Late na tayo sa training." pagbibigay-alam ni Chase.
I groaned. Ang sarap pa naman ng movie marathon namin dito!

Binalaan na kami ng aming principal na seryosohin ang training namin. Sinabi pa niyang wag baliin ang buto ng kapwa Alphas.
But it was fun though!
Or sadyang sadista lang talaga ako.
Nevertheless, dito muna ako magfofocus sa huntre na sumusugod sa'kin. Holding my golden sword, I jumped when she slid below me.
Alam ko na ang mga moves na'yan. Duh.
She reached for my arm pero siniko ko kaagad siya sa mukha. I heard something crack. Nasira ko ata ang ilong niya dahil sa dugo na lumalabas mula dito.
"Damn. I'm so good at breaking bones." puri ko sa sarili.
I heard the huntre chuckle. "me too." saka niya ako sinipa sa likod dahilan na mapaluhod ako. Hinatak niya ang kamay ko at kinuha ang espada.
Using my very own weapon, she managed to hit the back of my elbow with the handle.
Then my arm bent slightly towards the opposite direction.
"SHIT!" napamura ako nang maramdaman ang sakit. Napahiyaw ako nang idiniin niya ito.
Gods. They have no mercy at all.
Naramdaman ko ang dugo ni Ares sa sistema ko kaya alam kong iba na ang kulay ng mga mata ko.
Red smoke surrounded my body.
Though, I am controlling myself. Hindi ako magiging phoenix.
I will still be in my human form.
But... with the powers of a phoenix.
Dati ko pa ine-ensayo 'to. Only now did I decide to actually use it.
"You just broke my arm." ni-remind ko siya.
Nakita ko ang gulat at takot sa mga mata niya pero madali niya itong itinago.
I summoned my weapon again. Ginamit ko ang injured kong kamay para hawakan ito. My arm sent a painful signal.
But who cares?
Umikot ako. Natamaan ko na sana siya kung hindi lang siya yumuko.
Mas nainis ako.
Tumalon siya. She fell on my shoulders, locking her legs around my neck.
"Give up." bulong niya sa'kin habang pilit akong kumakawala mula sa kanya.
Napangiti nalang ako.
"Give.. up?" I morphed my arms into red flaming wings. Lumipad ako. Nawala siya sa balikat ko kaya natawa nalang ako.
I made a 360° degree turn. Nagulat nga ako kasi di siya nahulog. Nakakapit lang siya sa isang paa ko.
"Ares... is portrayed as a coward in some of the ancient stories. Always overreacting with little scratches-"
"How dare you speak of my father like that." I kicked her face to remove her from me pero hinigpitan lang niya ang paghawak.
"Wala lang. Nakakatuwa lang kasi. I broke your arm that would eventually heal for a few minutes pero... tignan mo... your eyes are blood-red. You're so mad at me. Aren't you? Does it hurt your pride?"
My left eye twitched. Tini-trigger niya ba ako? Because if she is, then she's doing a good job.
"Ares is the God of War.. Violence.. Bloodshed.. but still, when he appears in greek myths, he becomes nothing but a fearful god." natatawa niyang dagdag.
Maybe.
Maybe not.
Natalo si Ares sa trojan war dahil kumampi siya sa mga trojans. Siya ang least favorite God ni Zeus because of his carelessness. He is the complete opposite of Athena.
His way is brutality and only brutality.
He is short-tempered... may explosive attitude rin siya.
He suffered humiliation from the other Gods.
Pero hindi ibig sabihin niyan duwag na siya.
Totoong may weakness rin siya. He always wins a war. But when overcome with too much spirit and confidence, doon na siya natatalo.
Because the Gods are perfect.
The perfect example of why life is fair.
May kahinaan pa rin sila kahit sila ang pinakamakapangyarihan.
Maybe.. maybe that is why he told me it was okay to be scared.
My eyes widened. Ba't ngayon ko lang narealize yan?
"I'm guessing.. galit na galit na galit ka ngayon dahil sa'kin." narinig kong sabi ng huntre. "but face it, daughter of war. Your father is a coward."
"Nakalimutan mo ata..." binigyan ko siya ng matamis na ngiti. "It is his uncontrollable strength that wars need.. Kaya nga siya rin ang piniling deity ng mga Spartans. Not to mention his brave warrior-daughters, the amazons."
"and it is because of his blood in my veins that in every battle I go through.."
Sinipa ko ng malakas ang kamay niya.
"I always win."
Surprisingly, she survived the fall. Bumagsak ako sa lupa like an asteroid hitting the earth. The ground made a rumbling sound kaya napatingin silang lahat sa'kin.
Tinignan ko ang mga kapwa niya huntres.
Sabay-sabay ang pag-iba ng kulay ng mga mata nila. From brown to silver. Gayundin ang mga Amazons. Their grey eyes pierced through us.
"See that huntres?" sigaw ni Heather. "This is war!!"
Nagtinginan kaming Alphas.
Then, we gave each other a couple of nods.
Narinig ko ang sigaw ni Kara. "Alphas! Charge!"
Nagsilabasan ang mga weapons namin. They were recognizable because of the same gold shine.
Nakataas ang espada sa kamay ko, I screamed at the top of my lungs nang salubungin ang dalawang huntres at dalawang amazons na sumugod sa direksyon ko.
