Sydny's POV
I'm staring out the window from my classroom in the third floor of the beauty school. This was some Cosmetology class that I dont pay too much attention to. Our instructor, Madame Jéan (she's half-French), was just talking about the type of cosmetics we should use for this and that.
Andy and I have the same schedule for this class, and it seems that he was paying attention. So I'll just ask him when I need to. I'm not really one to get straight A's in my GPA. But I do have A's. Just not in all subjects.
Meanwhile, I'm busy looking at the leaves on the trees outside and the wonderful blue sky of Los Angeles. And of course, patiently waiting for our dismissal, which is at 2:00. Just 30 more minutes.
Melissa won't be dismissed until 4 though.. Unfortunate for her.
After a while, I got tired of watching the trees. So I pretended like taking some notes, but I'm just doodling. They say I'm good at drawing and sketching. I don't really know. I'm just good with the eyes. Haha.
And you know, I'm kinda' missing the boys. It's been a week since I've seen them. It's funny how we all became friends in such a short time.
After I have drawn 3 and a half pairs of eyes-- I didn't get to finish the last one-- the bell rung, and we're finally dismissed.
Andy and I walked out of the classroom. "My dear friend Sydny Green, why haven't you been paying attention to our classes lately?" He asked.
"Because," I sighed, and thought why.. "It's just bullshit."
He snickered. "Then why did you enroll here after all?"
I looked at him, and gave a sly smile. "I like bullshit."
Andy was about to reply but my phone rang.
"Life's a tangled web.."
"What in the world is that song?" Andy said.
I pulled my phone out of my pocket. "Catchy, huh?" Then I answered.
"Talk to me." I said.
It was only shuffling at first. "Hello? Sydny?"
"Yeah. Calum?" I asked.
He gave out a huge sigh. "Oh thank God. Ashton dialled your number wrong twice!! We ended up calling a cop, and a couple having sex."
"What?!" I laughed. "Oh my God, I'm surprised you ended the call."
"Yeah." Ashton's voice sounded through the speakers. "I ended it. Calum was having a boner."
Then I laughed even harder that people were starting to look at me and Andy. "What the fuck, guys. I'm in a public place!"
"And I can hear you." Andy said out loud.
"I did not have a boner." Calum defended. "Sorry, Sydny. Uhh who are you with?"
"Andy." I answered. "My friend."
Andy looked at me, and raised his eyebrows. "Who's that?" He mouthed.
"Calum, and Ashton." I said.
"Melissa's....?" He said. I forgot about Melissa's crush on Calum, since she and Michael looked so cute that day we were at their house.
"I'll explain later." I mouthed. "Hey, Calum?"
"Sydny."
'What's up? Why did you call?"
"Michael is missing. We thought you'd be with him." Calum said.
"Me?" I asked. "Why me?"
"Oh, you know.. You got that friend. What's her name?"
"Melrose?" Ashton said.
"It's Melissa." I corrected.
"Yeah. Her."
I smiled to myself. "Why are you looking for Michael? He's a big guy now. I'm sure he'll get home just fine."
"We got soundcheck in a few hours." Calum answered.
Oh. Well, that's a problem. "Umm, I'll call you guys if I see him or anything." Michael and I aren't really that close. But I think this might have something to do with Melissa. It's a close guess. Meanwhile, I got questions for them as well. "Hey, uh, guys?"
"Luke's in the shower." Ashton said.
I chuckled. "Ohh okay."
"I knew you'd ask." Ashton was giggling, which, for some reason, makes me want to giggle too. I think it's contagious. "Anyway, we're all going to look for Michael for the next hour. Hopefully, we'll find him."
"If we can't find him, we'll call the police." Calum said. Is he joking?
"Uhh, I don't think that would be a good idea?" Luke once told me that before they go on tours, Michael used to be a little secluded. Maybe-- if he weren't looking for Melissa-- he just needs some time alone.
"I know. So we should really start looking for him." Ashton said.
After a few more exchanges iof conversation, I finally hung up.
"Sooo.." Andy said. "How's it going in 5SOS land?"
I sighed. "Michael is missing."
"Michael. Wait, I'm confused." He held his arm up a bit. "Calum isn't Melissa's crush anymore?"
"Let me explain.." I said, as we stopped for a coffee from a vending machine. It's not much, but it's coffee.
I told Andy about everything that happened last week at starbucks, and at the 5SOS house. I left out the part where Luke and I danced on the rooftop though.
"Melissa likes that Michael guy." He said. "I can feel it my boobs."
Ohmygod. I almost choked on my coffee. "Your what?"
"My boobs." He repeated, feeling his quote unquote "boobs".
I just nodded, not really knowing what to say.
Andy and I exited the gates of the campus. We were just talking about Michael and Melissa when I spotted a guy in a hoodie. He looks like he's trying to hide himself.
"Hey, Andy." I stopped him, mid-sentence. "I'll just... Um, can you wait here?"
"Sure, why?"
I sighed. "I think I just found what they've been looking for."
Andy looked over at where I'm looking. "So, that's the Michael dude?"
I nodded.
"I wanna' come with yah."
"Okay."
We walked over to Michael, his back on us. He probably didn't know we were approaching.
Walking over to Michael, I thought about what he was doing here. I dont think he has any idea that this is where I study. Or maybe Luke might have mentioned it.
"Psst."
Michael turned around, a confused look on his face. "Sydny!" He sighed. "Aaaand.." He pointed over to Andy.
"Oh. This is Andy." I said, patting Andy on the back.
"'Sup, dude?" He's pretending to be a guy again.
"He's gay." I informed Michael.
Andy groaned. "No, bitch. Im Beyonce."
Michael snickered. Then his serious face returned. "What are you doing here?"
"I think I should be asking you that question." I said, matter-of-factly. "What are you doing here?!"
"I'm just..." He sighed. "I.."
"I knew it." I muttered.
"I went to see Mel." Michael sighed.
Andy burst out laughing. His laugh is really contagious, but at times, it's irritating. "MEL?!" He laughed some more. "OH-EM-EFF-GEE."
"Yeah." I sighed. "I know right." I turned to Michael. "Why?"
"Why, what?"
"Why do you want to see her?!" I asked.
Michael was about to answer when my phone started ringing.
"Hullo????" I said.
"Sydny Elizabeth Green." I could hear him smile.
I groaned. "Lucas."
"That's not my name."
"I don't care." I glanced at Michael, who was looking over at the campus while talking to Andy. "I found what you've been looking for."
"Really?" Luke said. "I don't think I lost anything."
I rolled my eyes, even though he can't see me. Luke could be stupid at times you know? But well, I find that adorable about him. Don't judge. "Michael. I mean Michael."
Michael looked at me. His expression seemed annoyed or something. I couldn't tell. He's good at hiding emotions.
"Guys!!" His voice fainted, as he shouted for Calum and Ash. "Sydny found Michael."
"Put it on loudspeaker." I think that was Calum. "Sydny, put your phone on loudspeaker too."
And so I did. "Michael, come here." I half-pulled, half-dragged him beside me.
"Ow!" He groaned. "What?"
"Talk to them."
"Michael Gordon Clifford! You idiot. We've been looking all over for you!!! We got rehearsals in half an hour, bitch. Did you know that?!" That as definitely Calum.
I chuckled silently, then Michael glared at me.
After a while, Calum's voice said "I'm sorry I called you that."
"How dare you." Michael said jokingly.
"Michael, you need to be here in 10!" Luke said. "We're heading to rehearsals." Typical Luke. Always taking things a little more seriously. Just a little, though. He' still a penguin.
"Yeah, mate. Why did you leave anyway?" Ashton asked.
Before Michael could answer, I spoke up. "Oh, no. Guys, YOU WERE RIGHT! He went over here to fee mffffaa. Omaffffguuud." That last part was because, Michael covered my mouth.
"Be there in 10, guys. Bye." Michael said, in a speed i do not know he was capable off. Then he hung up.
Andy coughed. "Can I just say, you shall never deny thy feelings because that would just make it harder for you." Then he turned to me. "Yow, sister. I gotta' get going. Im meeting someone at the mall. Call you later, yeah?"
"Okay. See yah."
He gave a flying kiss while walking away. I looked at Michael who was staring into space, and looked like he was just slapped by a catfish. Andy may be sarcastic and bitchy, but he's also sassy. And you cannot deny that.
"Come on, Clifford." I said, waking Michael out of his trance. "I need to take you back to your band."

During the ride to their place, I asked Michael about everything there is to ask about.
"Why were you at my school?"
"I told you, I went to see Melissa."
"Why do you want to see Melissa?"
"It's none of your business."
I frowned at him. "Of course, it's my business! She's like my best friend. Duh?" Melissa is my best friend. I never found anyone that I could connect with so much. Not even Nicola. She stopped calling me after a few weeks since I left. I never heard from her again.
"Okay, look." Michael said. "There's something I need to tell Melissa."
I smiled, feeling like I know what was to come. "And... what is that?"
Michael sighed, and run his finger through his hair multiple times. I don't understand why he keeps on doing that, but whatever. Guy thing, I guess?
"I like her.... a lot.
