"Aeve come on! Hurry up! We're already late"
I shouted furiously.
Aeve has been living with us for 3 years now together with her mom. I kinda get used to her being by my side. However she is such a slow poke. Madalas kaming late because of her.
"Aaaaeveee! i WILL LEAVE YOU!" I rushed outside then sumakay na ko sa likod ng sasakyan.
"Kuya let's go. Let's just leave her"
Iiling iling si Kuya Drew sakin.
"Sir magagalit po mommy niyo pag iniwan natin si Aeve" sabi ni kuya Drew.
I hate this! I will be late again for the nth time.
"Good morning kuaaaaa Drew" then she flashes her signature smile. A heart warming smile yung feeling na mapapa smile ka din.
"Thank you for waiting for me Quenzie" sabay hug nya sakin amd puppy eyed at me.
I can't afford to be mad at her when she's being so warm like this. Her smile melted my anger away.
I just sighed and bow my head.
"Let's go kuya" I said and stare blankly into space.
We arrived with just a moment to spare.
Thank God we're not late.
Class started. As always ang ingay talaga nitong si Aeve.
She's like a kid. She keeps on running around. Laughing, eating, charming other people with her smile.
"Quenzie. Bro tara na" aya ni Myk sakin to eat lunch. Tapos tinulak tulak na ko palabas.
I looked at Aeve first, I was about to ask her eat lunch with us.
She signed "NO" and waved at me. I smiled at her.
"Bro hayaan mo na yang girlfriend mo. Para isang oras lang kayong hindi magkikita" then he pushed me to go outside really har muntik na ko madapa. Lakas talaga mang asar nitong si Myk.
"For the record Aeve is not my girlfriend, she's....." I stopped talking.
Aeve is my.

I wondered...
Who is she to me?
Friend?
Sister?
More than that?
I can't understand.
"You like her" Myk is flashing his grin.
"No dude. Come on. Let's just rush to the canteen. I'm hungry" cutting his imaginations about me and Aeb.
Di ko alam if I like her or what not. I liked being with her. There's something inside me that wants to protect her. Mananakit lang ulo ko so I just shrugged the idea off and continued walking to the canteen.
I sat down while Myk is ordering the food.
Bakit siya na order?
Syempre sabi ko libre ko siya in return siya pipila at bibili ng food ko. hahahhaa. Less hirap para sakin. Knowing Myk gusto niyan palaging libre. Mayaman pero kuripot haha. :D
While waiting for him. I checked my phone.

What the?
It's all from mom.
Why would mom call me at this hour? She knows I'm at school
I was about to read her message when my phone rung.
"Yes mom?"
"Quenzie" mom speaks in a low tone
I can sense something... ODD
"Is Aeve with you?"
"No mom" I said.
"Can you please find her and ask her to go to the hospital now." she says and started crying.
"Mom what happened?" I started to panic.
"Just find her and hurry up" she dropped the call.
I stand up and rushed to find her
In the hospital?
It can't be.
I erased the thought about Tita Liz.
I went to the classroom to look for her, I went to the quad and even on the football field. She was no where to be found.
Damn!
Where's that girl?
I was running towards the library when I heard something.
"Kawawa naman yung babae. Ang ganda pa naman" girl #1
I stopped.
"Oo nga eh. Di naman nya kasalanan na siya yung napili na model ng isang teen magazine." girl #2
"Napaginitan tuloy siya Jezelle" girl #1.
I don't want to eavesdrop, but I think I know the person their referring to.
I continued to listen.
"Tumawag nalang kaya tayo ng isang professor para matulungan yung si ate girl?"
"Tara, tara"
Then they went on their way.
Shit!
I need to find Aeve. Fast!
It took me 20 minutes to run around the campus but no sign off Aeve.
I skipped our 4th period just to loo for her. Of all time, why can't I find her? We badly need to go now. Mom already sent me a message in which hospital they are in.
I need to find her.
Aeve where are you?
"Tara puntahan natin sa gym may mga chix daw na nag aaway" said the guy at my back.
Away?
Kinabahan ako bigla.
Tinakbo ko pa punta sa gym and saw Aeve being picked at by other girls.
Knowing her she will not cry in front of them. She will just smile.
"Ano akala mo, maganda ka? Di ka maganda." then a girl pushed her. She tripped and fell over.
"Kaya ka lang naman dito sa school na to napasok dahil pina pa aral ka ng family nina Quenzie"
I saw hee eyes grew bigger.
"What you thought na hindi namin alam?" Sigaw ni Jezelle.
She stood uo and just bow her head.
"Di ba iniwanan kayo ng papa mo kasi may sakit mama mo? Ano bang sakit nya para iwanan siya ng papa mo? Siguro Aids ano?"
"Eeeeeew" blurted by the girls surrounding Aeve.
Jezelle will never go without her pact and of course she is the Alpha.
What is she doing? Do something!
They keep on pushing her.
Fight back.
Scream.
Cry
I hate this. I clenched my fist.
"Stop" I shouted.
I ran and hugged her.
Yes! I hugged her. At times like this, this is the only thing I could do.
Why?
I don't know.
She might look strong but deep inside she's really fragile.
I hugged her tight.
"Are you having fun?" I said while looking at Jezelle.
I saw her face being shocked.
"Aeve let's go" I whispered at her ear. She just nodded.
I assisted. I felt her bosy shaking. I know she wanted to cry pero pinipigilan niya.
Everyone was looking at us
Bago kami tuluyang makalabas sa gym nag salita ulit ako.
"I don't want to see you near Aeve again you ugly pig!"
I heared people laughed and exclaimed ooooh!!!!
"Uuuggggggh. Ang yabang mo Quenzie! Let's go girls!" Aya ni Jezelle.
We were almost at the gate when Aeve noticed that we are not returning to our classroom.
She was so down I can't even tell her where were going.
"San tayo pupunta Quenzie?" tanong niya ng sumakay kami sa taxi.
Di ko siya sinagot. Instead sinabi ko sa driver kung saan kami ibababa.
"Manong Makati med po"
Then nag drive na si kuya.
"Makati med? O.a Quenzie ha. Natapilok lang ako kanina makati med agad? Di ba pwedeng clinic lang? Hahahaha!" pag bibiro nya na may matching hampas ay kurot sa braso ko.
I just smiled bitterly.
Di ko din naman alam kung sino ang nasa ospital at kung anong meron dun. I just can't tell her anything.
Naramdaman niya siguro ang pagkabalisa ko kaya tumahimik na din siya bigla.
After 15 mins nakadating na kami sa hospital. I paid the driver.
Tahimik kaming naglakad papunta sa room na tinext ni mommy. Room 2018. When we were in front of thw door. My hand became shaky. I just can't open it.
"Ano ba yan Quenzie ako na nga. Magbubukas lang eh" she hurridly opened the door. We were shocked when we saw who was lying on the bed.
Sabi ko na nga ba.
