IT'S BEEN ELEVEN YEARS OF MAY,
My shaking hands
Still meddle with clay, to revive
Memories of us long dead. It doesn’t help
That I still stare at our pictures. Your smiling face
The spark in your eyes. After years
Of staring it dawned. Silent tears
Made those stars; Unrequited
Love brought the mist. Settled in
Your presence like relaxed hair.
I never cherished all until it was
No more. Now I realise there is more
To the fluttering of my heart. That always
Rebels whenever I feel your warmth.
& now. Nothing much
Is changed except you
Lay in a coffin rather than my bed,
& there are still more words in me burning
To be said but just like poetry
I can't find an enclosure for my thoughts.
Except my love for you seems
To have awakened with your demise.
