Then the results were posted at exactly 4pm. They opened the page and slowly scrolled to see the top students.
"This is so nerve-wracking, I can't look!" Chaeng let go of the mouse and covered her eyes.
Mina chuckled. "Ok let me." Then she took over. She's now looking at the list of the top students.
"Chaeyoung-a." Mina said.
Dangerously In Love [Chapter 27]
Chaeyoung's POV.
"You're top 4!" Mina squeeled.
"What?! Really?" Chaeng opened her eyes and looked at the list. She can't believe what she's seeing. She's really the top 4 in all Sophomores.
"Yeah! I told you so!" Mina is really excited and happy with the result, she didn't even bother to check her rank.
"Daebak! This is the first time I've ranked this high. Waaa!!" Chaeng was jumping on her seat. They were both squealing, very excited that unconsciously they hugged each other.
After a few moments they realized it. They paused for a moment and pulled their selves away from each other. They were both blushing. Chaeng cleared her throat and fixed herself while Mina looked away.
Chaeng got back to her laptop and checked the list again. "Daebak! You're top 1 Minari! Woah, you even outranked Jeongyeon!"
So Mina is top 1, Jeongyeon on top 2, another student from their class is ranked 3rd, while Chaeng is top 4.
Mina checked the list, she slightly nodded as she saw her name.
"That's it? That's only your reaction? Woah. You must have always been on top of your class at your previous school huh? You're such a genius." Chaeng said.
"Not really." Well, she's used to it. I might have not mentioned it before but she's always on the top3 of her class is terms of academics. "So as promised, since you were able to get into the top 5, I'll grant you three wishes. Sowoneul malhaebwa."
"Hmm?" Chaeng was thinking real hard. "Maybe next time. I'll tell you when the time is right."
"What? Cmon you're making me curious. Just ask anything, well of course it should be something doable." Mina replied.
Chaeng chuckled. "Not now penguin. I'll ask you when it's necessary."
Mina sighed. "Okay then, whatever you say." Then she went to the the bed and lied down. "So what now?
"Want to watch a movie?" Chaeng suggested.
"Yeah sure. What movie would you like? Obviously not horror." Mina chuckled.
"Yeah yeah. Hmm how about....A moment to remember. It's a love story."
"Oh so you're a romantic type eh?" Mina teased.
"Hmm? Kinda." Chaeng smiled.
Mina nodded. "Aaah."
"Want to watch it downstairs? Or just here in my laptop?"
"I'm too lazy to go down, let's just watch it here." Mina suggested.
"Okay then." Chaeng brought her laptop and sat beside Mina on the bed. "Uhmm, should I lie down or..."
"Whatever suits you."
"Okay." Chaeng is kinda shy so she's a bit hesitant. She lied down beside Mina and put the laptop on top of her stomach. "Uhm I think we should raise our heads a little." Then she added two pillows to lift their heads. "There, that's more comfortable."
They were concentrating on the movie that the awkward atmosphere vanished. Mina moved a little closer to Chaeng to get a better view.
It's nearing the end when Chaeng heard Mina sobbed. Is she crying? She felt her shoulder is a little wet. Oh man, she is. What should I do?
Chaeng patted Mina's shoulder lightly that made Mina cried harder. It was a very sad scene that's why. Awwe, you're such a softie. She kept on patting her, then Mina leaned on Chaeng's shoulder, still crying. This time, Chaeng is brushing her hair. She removed the hair that's covering Mina's face. Then she patted her shoulder again.
They were like that until the movie finished. Chaeng put aside the laptop and turned to Mina.
"Hey, are you okay? Movie's over now, stop crying." Chaeng asked in a soft voice.
"So what's gonna happen to them?" She sobbed again. "She rememberred him, but not long enough she'll forget again." (If you haven't watched it yet, it's about a woman who've got Alzheimer's disease. It's a Korean movie, I suggest for you to watch it. It's an old one, but a really really good movie.)
"Well there's nothing they can do, eventually the disease will get worse and she'll completely forget about him."
Mina cried harder. Oh shoot, great Chaeng you just made her cry more. "But you know, their love will never fade. They will love each other until the end. Yes it's sad, but the most important thing is their love for one another. Though the girl might forget about him but her heart will always remember."
"Stop crying now, I don't like seeing you cry." Chaeng brushed her hair as she console her.
Mina nodded and wiped her tears. "Sorry, I just get really emotional. I'm easily moved to tears."
"Yeah I know."
"Huh?"
"I mean, you started crying immediately during the sad scene so..." Chaeng reasoned out. "Turns out you're a crybaby." She chuckled lightly.
"What?! No I'm not!" Mina protested as she wiped her cheeks.
"Yes you are. Crybaby Minari." Chaeng teased her, giving her a michievous smile.
Mina pouted and crossed her arms.
"Ei! I'm just kidding." Chaeng poked her. "You're still pretty though even when you cry." She added in a low voice.
Mina didn't hear it clearly. "Huh?"
"Huh? Uhmm. I said the night view is really pretty." She said as she looked out the window.
"Aah. Oh wait, it's night already?" Mina looked at her watch. "Oh it's past 6pm. Time flew so fast." She stood up, grabbed her bag and put on her jacket.
"Going somewhere?"
"Yeah, I'll just go home real quick, just to get some clothes and clean the house."
"Can't you do it tomorrow?"
"I'll need to go tonight. Today's the due for my rent as well. I don't want my landlord to get mad."
"Ah okay." Chaeng stood up as well. "I'll come with you."
"No need. Just stay here. I'll be back in an hour. Will you be okay by yourself?" Mina asked.
"Yes of course. I'm more worried about you. It's dark already and it'll be dangerous for a girl like you to walk alone." Chaeng said with a worried expression.
Mina chuckled. "It's just four blocks away Chaeng, don't worry."
"You sure?" Chaeng asked again.
"Yeah."
"Would you like to eat first before you go?"
"I'm not hungry yet. Are you?"
Chaeng shook her head. "I'll cook so that we can eat once you get back."
Mina nodded. "Gureom, I'll go now."
"Oh by the way, take this just in case." Chaeng handed her a pepper spray.
Mina put it on her pocket. "Thanks." Then she left.

Mina's POV
Mina was humming as she walked. She just passed by the restaurant and saw the workers organizing the chairs and tables. There's no customers anymore. Oh? They're closing early today. I wonder why. Then she continued walking.
On the next street, the lamp post is flickering on and off. Oh wow, what a great timing. This is really creepy.
It was totally silent since there are no stores located on that part of the neighborhood. Then suddenly her phone rang.
"Kkamjjakiya!" She exclaimed as she was totally surprised. "Oh it's Chaengie." Then she sighed in relief.
"Yoboseyo?" Mina answered.
"Where are you? Are you at the apartment already? Are you safe?" Chaeng asked in one breath.
Aigoo this kid. Mina chuckled. "I'm almost there. Just one block away."
"Okay, don't hang up yet, I want to make sure you get home safely."
Awwwe. You're so thoughtful. "Yes ma'am." Mina chuckled again. She finds it sweet that Chaeng is really worried.
"I'm entering the gate now.... Ok I'm inside." Then she heard Chaeng sighed deeply.
"Good. Now do your thing but don't hang up, just put me on speaker phone."
Mina laughed. "Seriously?"
"Yeah, I'll do the same."
She might be scared alone that's why. "Ok then. You're on speaker now." Then she heard some clanking noise. "What are you doing?"
"Cooking. I'll cook beef stew." Chaeng replied.
"Hmm sounds good. I'll finish this quick so we can eat." Then Mina packed some clothes, then cleaned the house. It got a little dusty since she hasn't been home for a few days. They talked from time to time while they do their stuff.
"I'm almost done. Just need to pay the rent now. I'll hung up okay?" Mina said.
"Oh okay. Call me right away alright? I'll fetch you."
"No need Chaeng. You're so persistent eh?" Mina chuckled.
"But still, call me. I want to make sure you're safe."
Mina is blushing. It seems that she likes how Chaeng is worried about her safety. "Arraseo. I'll call you back."
After 10 mins, Mina called her.
"What took you so long?" Chaeng asked.
"Sorry, I just had a chat with my landlord. He said someone was looking for me for the past few days."
"Oh really? Who is it?"
"He wasn't able to ask the name though. Anyway, I told my landlord to ask for the phone number when that person comes back."
"Aah ok. Are you on your way now?"
"Yes. I'm walking now, just passed by the first block."
"Okay, I finished cooking dinner. Hurry or it'll get cold."
"Ne." Mina smiled as she walked faster. Now she's walking through the dark alley. "Oh? The lamp post is turned off, earlier it was flickering. I think it's broken."
"Huh? Is it totally dark there? Hey walk faster."
"Yeah it's dark. I'll just use my phone as a flashlight okay? Just wai—"
"Agassi."
Mina stopped as she heard a voice of a man coming from the side. She can't see the face since it is super dark.
"Wh—who is it?" Mina asked nervously.
"Why are you walking alone late at night?" The man asked as he walked towards her.
His face was illuminated by the moonlight and Mina saw a man that's totally drunk, swaying as he walked closer to her.
She took a step back. "I—I'm on my way home. Gureom, I'll go now." Mina replied. Her heart beating fast.
"Minari? Who is that? Who are you talking to?" Chaeng asked. She's still on the line with her.
"Why are you in a hurry. Ajhussi here is lonely. Cmon, accompany me, I'll make sure to make you happy." He went closer and showed a perverted smile.
"N—no thank you. I need to go now." She was about to leave when suddenly, the man grabbed her wrist.
"Where do you think you're going? You're coming with me!" Then the man pulled her hard that she dropped her phone.
"Yah! Let go of me!" Mina shouted.
Chaeng on the other hand, was really worried. She doesn't know what's happening. All she knows is that Mina is in danger.
"Minari!" Chaeng shouted as Mina's phone dropped on the floor.

Gosh! That sooooo frustrating!!!! There's an issue with Wattpad that's why you weren't able to read it last night. I was supposed to do a double update but I can't. I'll update again tomorrow to make sure there's gonna be no problem.
