You headed to Raven's tent and saw her stood in front of the map of Remnant. Her sword was on a table and her helmet was under her arm. You cleared your throat and Raven turned towards you
Raven: Ah Y/N. How can I help?
Y/N: I remember you telling me about your tribe. As it's growing, control has been more difficult. Just a few hours ago, a few of your tribe attacked me while I spoke with Vernal about the techniques you taught me. I realised there were a few flaws in both our techniques and I spoke with Vernal about if there were ways to narrow down the flaws as much as possible. Then a few of your tribe must have misheard, because they assumed I was criticising your fighting style, which I would never do. In short, Raven, if you see me as worthy enough for it, I would like to become a sort of second in command for this tribe. Some of them listen to me without question after they saw the new armor you made me.
Raven thought about it for a while.
Raven: Y/N I understand that there are flaws in both our techniques. Which is why we train so much. And about the second in command request, I already have a second in command. Her name is Vernal.
You nodded in respect, a little saddened. Raven placed a hand on your shoulder and you looked at her
Raven: But, since the tribe listens to you as well due to the new armor you have and the fact you are my nephew, if you want to, you can become a sort of bodyguard for me. Granted it's not as good as second in command, but you still have authority over the tribe. So in a sense, you are a second in command as well.
You smiled and gave Raven a quick hug. Being a bodyguard for the leader of the tribe sounded very useful. Raven smiled and hugged you back. You headed to the shelf for your weapons and armor and took your helmet, before placing it on your head and handing Raven her sword. She smiled at you. Since becoming a permanent member of the tribe, Raven had made sure that people listened to you, her and Vernal. She gave you permission to punish them as you saw fit. This new position in Raven's tribe really suited you. Most of the tribe feared you because of your punishments for disobedience. Raven admitted your methods were unorthodox but as long as they kept the tribe in line, they were helpful. But she told you never to kill any of them without her authority. As always you obeyed her. You knew that you may be a second in command, but she still had authority over you.
A few hours later, you were working on your armor when Vernal arrived to speak to Raven. You let her pass, as she was one of the people Raven would always allow in the tent. Usually, you'd stop the tribe members and ask them what they wanted, but Vernal was an exception.
Raven: What is it Vernal?
Vernal: We have a visitor. Someone with long yellow hair, a yellow metal arm and some sort of bracelet shotgun. She was pretty brutal with our troops
Bracelet shotgun? Those two words reminded you of someone who you grew up with. Yang.
Y/N: What are your orders ma'am? Do we attack her?
Raven: No Y/N, we wont attack her. She's probably here to see me, after so long. And probably you. Finish your armor work and get your helmet on. Don't want her seeing you and recognising you immediately.
You nodded and finished your work on your armor, put it on and placed your helmet on before heading out behind Raven to see Yang.
Yang: Mom.
Raven: (removing her mask) Yang. So, after all this time you finally decided to visit me.
Yang felt her left hand shaking once again, but she used her robotic hand to calm it down.
Yang: You know that I searched for you. I spent years looking for you.
Raven: And you’ve found me. You were patient, determined, and strong enough to make your dream a reality. Well done, Yang. But did you have to be so rough with my men?
Yang: I didn’t want a fight. They started it.
Raven: Well, you certainly finished it.
Silence. Y/N shuffled his feet uneasily, unsure of what to do
Raven: Right. I’m sure this is all very overwhelming. But I must admit that you’ve proven yourself. So any questions you have I’ll be happy to answer. You can stay with us tonight. I’ll even have the cooks whip up something for you.
Yang: That’s not why I am here.
Y/N stepped forward, but Raven stopped him.
Raven: What was that?
Yang: I’m not here for you. Ruby is somewhere in Mistral. She’s with Qrow, and she’s going to need my help. I just need you to take me to her. And to help me find Y/N.
Raven: And why would I do that?
Yang: Because we’re family.
Raven: (scowls, and mutters) Family. Only coming around when they need something. (projecting again) I have to say, I’m disappointed. After all, you found me, didn’t you? Why not take that drive and use it to find your little sister if she means that much to you?
Yang: Because you’re going to save me time. Ruby was heading to Mistral, but there’s no guarantee she’s made it there. Looking for her in Anima could take ages. But… Dad told me how your Semblance works.
Raven: (under her breath) Tai...
Y/N: (Also under his breath) Not him...
Yang: You can bond to certain people. And when you do, you could create a portal that takes you straight to them. You’ve got one for Dad. One for me. And you’ve got one for Qrow. He promised me he’d watch out for Ruby before he left. And I trust him. So, make a portal to my uncle and sister, and I’ll be on my way.
Raven: You know, it takes real strength to march in here and demand such a favor of me. I’ve got to say, I’m impressed. It’s very noble to want to help out your sister. But if she’s with Qrow, then she’s already a lost cause.
Yang: What does that mean?
Y/N: What Raven's trying to say is that to blindly trust in Ozpin is to basically doom yourself
Raven: That's it exactly Spectre (Spectre is your nickname)
Yang: I don’t care what either of you think.
Y/N tensed and scowled under his helmet
Raven: Your choice is your own. All I’m suggesting is that instead of getting wrapped up in something too big for you, for any of us, that maybe you take a moment to wonder if you’re already where you belong.
Yang: Save your breath. You can spout off whatever you want, but nothing is going to keep me from my sister.
Raven: Well, aren’t you stubborn.
Yang: I get it from my mom.
Y/N's eyes widened a little under his helmet
Raven: Well, if that’s how you feel, then it sounds like we’re done here. Take her away, Spectre
Y/N nodded and moved to grab Yangs arm, but she moved away
Yang: Did you not hear me? (Raven turned back around before she can enter her tent) I said send me to Qrow, damn it! (her eyes turned red as she spouted her last statement)
Y/N stepped back. One of the bandits spoke up
Bandit Two: That’s enough! You watch your mouth in front of our leader! (some of the bandits tensed up behind him)
Yang: Make me.
Bandit Two tried to attack Yang, Yang punched the Bandit into Y/N, knocking his helmet off him.
Yang: Y/N?!
Y/N: Hey sis
The bandits looking surprised as the two knew each other
Yang: What are you doing here?
Y/N: When I ran off from home, I made it my mission to come here. This place is more welcoming than back home
Yang: Mom could take us to Ruby
Y/N gently pushed his sister away
Y/N: You can, but I'm not. (He bent down and picked up his helmet, tucking it under his arm) This my home. Granted I'd love to see Ruby again, but I have a duty here now. To the tribe and to Raven. I'm sorry Yang.
Yang nodded at her brothers decision. Raven spoke up
Raven: You two. In my tent. Now.
Yang: Why?
Raven: If you’re really going after your sister, then you need to know the truth.
Raven entered her tent and the bandits went back to their own business
Y/N: Listen Yang, I'm sorry I-
Yang just hugged her brother tightly
Yang: I missed you so much Y/N.
Y/N was surprised, but returned the hug
Y/N: I missed you too Yang
The two siblings headed into Raven's tent to hear what she needed to say
