Shadows

Climbing Out

These satin walls of the casket I buried myself in
Are not as soft as I would've hoped.
One day I will claw my way out
And bask in the yellow sunlight,
Whose warmth has been calling me for months.
When I leave this coffin, 
I will stand in a forest
And smell the aroma
Of the emerald pine trees.
I will walk slowly, listening to the crunch
Of my feet on their needles.
I will appreciate sunsets
And all of the colors in them.
I will lay in a field
Of soothing lavender,
And  soak in the calming aura.
I will listen to music
And hear every note, every harmony.
I will no longer be numb to the world around me,
Instead, i will embrace it's beauty.
But first,
I must figure out how to get out of this damn hole.
