It's been three days simula ng umalis ako sa bahay ni David. Sa office naman were both casual and puro work-related lang naman yung mga pag-uusap namin.
It's my last day here in Sydney and last day ko na papasok sa GTEC. Pagdating ko sa office today, inaantay na ako ng lawyer ni David. I'm sure he's also here to give me the news na annulled na yung kasal namin.
My lawyer called me a few minutes before I got here saying the court's decision.
"I need you to sign a few papers for me." sabi niya sa akin. "As for the court's decision, your marriage is now null and void."
I signed the papers he gave me at umalis na rin siya.
Sumunod na pumasok si Cass.
"Everybody knows the good news so I'm giving you this." She handed me an envelope. "Hope you could come tonight." then umalis na rin siya.
I opened the envelope and it's an invitation para sa engagement party nila ni David mamayang gabi.
"Maam, it's time for your catch-up with Sir Miguel." Pumasok si Mildred para ipaalala yung meeting ko with kuya. Ihahandover ko na kasi yung mga pending pang gawin and bibigyan ko siya nang briefing sa mga ginawa ko dito para alam na niya pagpunta niya next week.
Nang lumabas kami napadaan kami sa conference room. Kasalukuyang may meeting si David doon. Sumilip ako ng bahagya dahil huling beses ko na siyang makikita. Wala rin kaming meeting ngayon kaya wala na rin akong ibang chance.
*David*
I know it's her last day today. Kanina pa yun di mawala sa isipan ko kahit na may meeting ako ngayon. Hindi siya kasama sa meeting today kaya wala akong chance para makita or makausap siya. She has not given me the signed contracts yet from Mr. Buenavidez and the other clients so I think makikita ko pa siya mamaya.
Nasabi lang sa akin ni Steven na dumating si Atty. Mariano para sabihin na annulled na yung kasal namin.
Pagkatapos ng meeting namin, nakita ko si Zoe at Mildred na nasa kabilang room. Kausap nila si Miguel.
I stood there for a few minutes para sana makita siya kaya lang likod lang nakikita ko.
"Sir, it's time for your next meeting." Paalala ni Steven.

Kalat na sa lahat yung tungkol sa annulment ni David and Zoe. Pinuntahan ko agad si Zoe sa office niya to check out on her.
"It's over now." sabi niya sa akin habang nagliligpit siya ng mga gamit niya.
"Anong plano mo after this?" I asked her.
"I'm going home tomorrow. I'm still not sure what to do next. Maybe I'll go back to New York or go on a trip somewhere."
I gave her a hug.
"I hope this is not the last time we'll see each other."
"Let's see."
"Aren't you going to say goodbye to him?"
"I already did."

Natapos na yung dalawang magkasunod na meeting ko kaya bumalik na ako sa office ko. I was reading some papers when Atty. Mariano came in. Binigay niya sa akin yung copy ng annulment papers with the court's approval.
"Everything is good to go Sir. Is there anything else you need?" tanong niya sa akin.
"Just make sure she gets all the assets listed on our papers. I know she said she won't ask anything from me but I still wanted to give her those so please transfer them to her name one by one. Lastly, if something happens to me in the future the rest of my assets will also go to her."
"Sir, are you sure about this?"
"Yes, I am. Thank you, Atty. Mariano."
"Got it, Sir." Paalam niya tapos umalis na rin siya.
Sinabi ni Steven na gusto daw akong kausapin ni Mildred kaya pinapasok ko siya.
"Good afternoon Sir. I just wanted to give you this." She handed me 5 folders. "Those are the 5 signed contracts from our new clients including Mr. Buenavidez." Tapos may inabot ulit siyang 4 folders. "Also, Maam Zoe got to sign four other clients yesterday. She really worked hard to get them."
Chineck ko yung folders isa-isa. Why didn't she tell me about the four additional clients yesterday.
"5-year partnership contract with NRI. She noted that NRI will contact you soon to finalize her replacement because she withdraws from this project." She handed me the contract. "She also wanted you to have this." Inabot naman niya sa akin yung box.
I opened the box. Ang laman nun yung ring at necklace na binigay ko.
"She also wants to congratulate you personally but she said she couldn't do it." Inabot niya sa akin yung envelope. "She couldn't come too."
Engagement Party? Bakit hindi ko alam to?
"Lastly Sir, her resignation letter. Effective today." Pinatong niya sa table ko iyon kasama ng ID niya.
"Where is she? Why can't she give this to me instead?" Nagtatakang tanong ko. Bakit si Mildred ang nagbibigay sa akin nito. I was expecting her. "Can you ask her to come here and give all of this to me?"
"I'm sorry Sir. She left the office a few minutes ago. The chairman also knows this so we just wanted to give you a heads-up. Sir Miguel will be here on Monday."
Mabilis akong tumayo at pumunta sa office niya. Wala na nga yung mga gamit niya. Wala na rin lahat ng bakas na nandito siya.

Pinuntahan ko si David sa bar kinagabihan because he texted me.
"Is this a celebration? for what annulment? engagement?" Natawa ako sa kanya. Si Zoe lang ang nakatanggap ng invitation na iyon. Mga pakulo talaga ni Cass.
"Neither."
"You wanted this remember? Ang tagal mong inantay to. Bakit nilulunod mo yung sarili mo sa alak ngayon instead of celebrating?"
"I fucked up big time." sabi niya habang umiinom. "I can't stop blaming myself sa mga nangyari sa kanya at sa baby namin. Kung naniwala lang sana ako sa kanya noon hindi sana nangyari to. Sinubukan kong pigilan yung nararamdaman ko pero in the end hindi ko pala talaga kaya. I can't lose her this way."
Nakakuyom na yung mga kamay niya. Alam naman naming mahal pa rin niya si Zoe.
"Maybe it's too late already but you can still change the story? Try not to end it this way bakit hindi mo dugtungan. She's leaving tomorrow. Alam mo naman kung saan yung apartment ng kuya. Puntahan mo siya tapos kausapin mo. Sabihin mo sa kanya lahat....." Payo ko sa kanya. Hindi na ako natapos magsalita dahil nagmamadali siyang tumayo at lumbas ng bar.

Nagising naman ako sa sunod-sunod at malalakas na katok sa pinto. Sinuot ko yung robe ko at dali-daling sumilip sa pinto.
Si David.
Anong ginagawa niya dito?
Binuksan ko yung pinto. Based sa itsura niya mukhang hindi pa siya nakakauwi sa apartment niya dahil nakasuot pa siya ng suit. Naamoy ko rin na nakainom siya.
"Hindi ka ba magpapaalam sa akin?" tanong niya.
"I already did. Nung nasa beach house mo."
"How about the farewell date you requested?"
"Wala na tayong time. Bakit ka ba nandito? It's your engagement party tonight."
"Walang engagement party."
"I think you should rest. You're drunk. I can call Steven...." bago pa ako matapos magsalita sinara na niya yung pinto at hinila na niya ako palapit sa kanya.
"Bitiwan mo ako."
"I can't....babe...."
Isinandal niya ako sa wall. His face moved closer to mine our foreheads pressing together.
"David, don't make things harder for me please. Just go." Pakiusap ko sa kanya.
Hindi niya ako sinagot. He pressed a soft kiss on my lips.
"Dave....."
He gave me a long kiss like it was pleading for me to respond to him.
