There was a girl who thought
That life was a beautiful thing.
But life, she discovered, is not.
Instead it is full of pain.
She gave the boy her heart
But caring was not in his nature.
And now he's left her broken
She's fallen and no one can save her.
He walked away and left her alone
To fall apart and break
Each day she thinks its something she's done
She doesn't want to believe it was fake.
He made her feel alive and loved
Like no one ever had.
Things were good but when he was done
All that was left was the bad.
She thought that maybe he was magic
She loved him more than life.
But he left her heart in tatters and havoc
As if he carved her with a knife.
And now she's become an artist
With no pride in her work.
She never thought she'd become this,
Covering it all with a long-sleeved shirt.
People don't understand her battle
They don't have sympathy for her pain.
But maybe they'll all weep when she sleeps
And never wakes up again.
There are no such thing as heroes
No one can save a broken soul.
You can't patch up the holes in a broken heart
You can't bring warmth to the cold.
So she is known as a freak around town
Alone in the drizzling rain.
She walks around with her head down
And a heart heavy with shame.
As she turns out the light she can finally smile
Because in heaven there is no pain.
