The lovely rose of hope always has it's thorns of doubt
They stab as you try to grab the last one there
The petals fall and all you have left is a stem covered in your blood as you tried to keep a hold
Drop it though and the whole world bleeds along with you
So now you have to put the pain of faith in the rose of hope
But what if the pain is too much?
Do you even try to fight life at all?
Or do you just take the blows with silence as you scream inside?
Will someone come along and nip the head off with their reasoning to turn you away from the garden
My hands bleed
The ground is littered with dismembered flowers by my feet
I still grip at random flowers, praying that what I touch does not become black and die
Where is the rose that will help me survive?
I know I just have to hope that next time I will get it right
So I snatch up another rose
Only to have it stick me cruelly
