A month and a half later...

Zion walked into the room with an awake but quiet Dylan in his arms. His phone was sitting between his ear and his shoulder as he rocked Dylan back and forth gently.

"Yeah, whatever. I'll get up with you later." He said before hanging up.

He set his phone down on the table before falling next to me on the couch. Dylan's eyes looked between us as he lightly smiled. This baby was full of personality in his six weeks of living. He had picked up a lot of Zion's traits but I wouldn't have him any other way. And Zion was being an amazing father. I was worried about him, as this was his first time actually living with a baby but he was doing really well.

"You ready to go?" He asked me.

We were taking Dylan for his 6 week checkup today and mine to make sure everything was intact with the both of us. I nodded as I stood up. I had been in the gym whenever I could and I was almost back to pre-pregnancy body.

"Do I look okay?" I asked Zion.

His eyes trailed over my entire body, making me cock my hip out. He licked his lips as he focused on my face.

"You look better than okay." He said.

"Thank you. Let's go." I laughed.

I set Dylan in his car seat as Zion packed his bag. Zion hooked Dylan's car seat on his arm before handing me the bag. We headed out the door, getting into his truck before pulling towards the hospital.

"What is your checkup for?" He asked me.

"Making sure everything healed properly down there. Seeing if I can have sex again." I shrugged.

"If you can?" He asked.

"If I can what?" I retorted.

"If you can have sex. Are you going to?" He asked.

I looked at him through the rear view mirror, knowing what he was hinting at. He laughed lightly as he continued to drive.

"I hadn't thought about it." I said.

I looked out the window as we pulled into the lot. I got out, grabbing his bag while Zion grabbed his seat. We walked in, getting on the elevator. Another woman got on and her eyes found Zion quickly. I thought it might have been a look of fear until she bit her lip. I cleared my throat, making her look over at me. I raised an eyebrow, making her cast her eyes down. She got off on the next floor, leaving us again.

"Jealous?" He asked.

"What?" I asked.

"I heard you clear your throat then I saw her head go down." He said.

The doors opened for our floor. I walked to the receptionist then walked to sit next to Dylan and Zion.

"I don't know why you wear these tight ass pants, man." He mumbled.

I looked at my jeans then looked back at him. I felt eyes burning into the side of my face. I looked over, seeing a dude staring at me. When he noticed I saw him, he winked. I reeled back before turning to Zion.

"Jealous?" I asked sarcastically.

"I don't want nobody looking at my baby moms like that." He sniffed.

I shook my head, taking Dylan from him. I kissed his cheek before setting him in my arms.

"I'm the only one supposed to be staring at you. Me and Cash." He said.

I laughed and nodded.

"It's not funny, Jay." He said.

"I got it, Zion. Only you and Dylan." I cooed at Dylan.

"Anderson." A nurse came out and said.

I stood up with Dylan in my arms as I headed to the back. I could feel Zion on my back as we walked into the exam room.

"I'm throwing everything tight in your room away." He said.

I shook my head as I bounced Dylan on my knee. Dr. Simmons walked through the door. He talked to us for a minute before checking Dylan out.

"How's everything healing for you, Mom?" He asked.

"I'm good. No bleeding, no more pain really." I shrugged.

"Sounds good. You should be good to go again." He said.

"That means sex?" Zion asked.

I looked over at him before putting my head in my hand.

"She can, only if she wants to." Dr. Simmons laughed.

I rolled my eyes as he handed me Dylan.

"I should see you guys next month." He smiled before leaving the room.

I buckled Dylan into his seat, handing it to Zion.

"Can we go get food? I'm hungry for smoked wings." I said.

He nodded as we walked out of the room. I stopped by the desk as Zion walked to the elevator. The same guy from earlier walked up to me.

"I'm sorry, I just had to tell you how beautiful you were." He said.

I looked past him, seeing Zion on his phone as he waited.

"My man tells me everyday. Thank you though." I fake smiled as I stepped around him.

I walked up to Zion, wrapping my arm around his waist. He threw his around my neck as the doors for the elevator opened. We walked in, turning around as they closed back. We got in the car to head to the restaurant. He pulled into the parking lot before turning the car off.

"Hey." I said as he opened my door.

"What's up?" He said.

"Thank you. For everything." I said.

"I should be thanking you." He said.

"For what?" I asked.

He reached over, uncovering a sleeping Dylan. He covered Dylan back up as he pulled him out of the car.

"I'd do it all over again." I said.

He smiled at me as we walked into the restaurant. I had been meaning to talk to Zion about our relationship. We were better than we've ever been and I think it's because of Dylan.

"Are you getting the same thing you always get?" He asked.

I nodded as I closed the menu and leaned my head on my hand.

"What I do now?" He asked.

"Nothing." I sighed.

He raised an eyebrow as he copied my pose.

"You asked me a question before Dylan got here." I said.

He nodded then motioned for me to keep going.

"And I was thinking, maybe we could give us another shot." I said.

His smile grew so big, it might've cracked his face.

"You hear that, Cash?" He cooed at Dylan.

I shook my head as our waiter came over to take our orders. He walked away, leaving us alone again.

"Thank you, Jay." He said.

I already knew he meant for the second chance. Zion had grown in this time and I would be a fool not to see it. I was in love with Zion, I couldn't help it. Sometimes, I wonder if it was a blessing that I saw him in the store. He stepped up to the plate and has been doing what me and Dylan needed at every turn. I woke up, he was there. I went to sleep, he was there. I couldn't imagine a better Zion than the one I was sitting across from.

"I love you." I said.

"I love you more." He said.

"And I love you the most." I said to Dylan.

He smiled lightly in his sleep. For the first time in my life, it felt like everything was going right. I just prayed that this was the way it was supposed to be.
