It was a Thursday morning and I woke up feeling groggier than usual. I groaned as I lifted myself out of bed.
My throat was sore and my nose was blocked.
I made my way down stairs and my dad greeted me with a smile before commenting that I looked like "shit", apparently.
I couldn't be bothered speaking so I grunted in response.
"Hun, I made breakfast," My Mum said to me.
"I don't want it," I moaned. "I think I'm getting sick."
"Hmmm, you do look a bit pale," My Dad mentioned.
"Can I stay home, please?" I asked.
My parents didn't answer.
"Mum? Dad?"
"Do you think he's faking it?" My mother asked my father.
"Oh, come on. It was one time!" I exclaimed.
I'm not faking it. I really don't feel good.
"Yeah, okay. Stay home and rest up, hun," My mum said and reached out to feel my forehead.
"I'm gonna go back to bed," I announced.
When I got to my room I fall onto to my bed with a pleasant sigh.
It's only been five minutes, but I missed my bed. I pull the covers up to chest and drift off to sleep.
The next time I woke up I felt even more shit.
I noticed my phone was vibrating.
It was Mycah.
I answered, "Yes?"
"Dude, where are you? Dylan and I want to know," He says.
"Oh, I'm at home, I'm sick."
"Wait, really? So is Myles."
What?
"He's at home and he's sick too?"
"Yeah, that's what I said," Mycah confirmed.
I grinned. "Okay, cool. Thanks, I'm going over."
"Cole-" I hung up.
I may have a cold, but I can still drive.
I grabbed my car keys and rushed out the door.
When I got to Myles' house I knocked on the door a few times.
No one answered.
I knocked again, but still no response.
I huffed and leaned against the door and just like the that it opened and I almost fell through the doorway.
"Oh, Cole, what are you doing here?" Myles asked.
Gathering my footing, I looked up at him. "What? No happy greeting for your boyfriend?" I inquired.
"Mmm," He mumbled in response and raised a hand to wipe underneath his nose as he sniffed.
I moved past him to get inside.
"Mycah told me you were sick and so am I," I mentioned.
"Oh."
"We must've given one another cooties," I attempted to joke.
Myles rolled his eyes.
"Oooh, someone's a little moody," I mockingly cooed.
"I'm sick and tired. I just wanna sleep," He said.
"Aw, come here." I grabbed his hand and I dragged him into the living.
I layed down on the three seat sofa and tapped the empty spot in front of me.
"But I don't want to get more sick." He said.
I chuckled. "I don't think it works like that. Also, I'm pretty sure we have the same cold."
"Okay, then," He complied.
He layed down in front of me so we were facing one another.
I closed my eyes and breathed in his scent. When I opened them he was staring at me with his big, blue eyes flicking from one feature on my face to another.
"What are you thinking about?" I asked.
"You," He replied.
"What about me?"
He blushed and said. "You're pretty."
Pretty? That's not I compliment I get often, but I'll take it.
I raised my eyebrows. "Oh, am I now?"
"I don't know." He shrugged.
I chuckled. "But you just said-"
"Shhh," He hushed me. "I know what I said.
He rolled over so that I was spooning him.
"I love you." I kissed the back of his head and put my arms around him.
He searched for my hand from behind and intertwined our fingers.
"I love you too."
I smiled as fell asleep for my second nap today.

I woke to the sound of other voices near by.
"I'm just saying, that I'm not sure why you are so against it."
My eyes snapped open.
What the hell? Was that Dylan? Why was he here?
"I'm not against it."
Mycah. He must've invited Dylan over.
"But you're not entirely with it."
I think I heard Mycah sigh.
"Come on."
They walked into the living room and I closed my eyes pretending I was asleep.
"Just look at them," Dylan said. "They adore one another. Do you really think it's a bad thing for them to be together?"
Wait were they talking about me and Myles? Mycah still didn't like the thought of us together?
"No, they are cute together, I guess," Mycah responded uncertainly.
Damn right we are cute.
I felt Myles squeeze my hand tighter at his brother's words.
Was he awake and listening too? Or just dreaming?
The snot in my left nostril caused my nose to itch. I could feel a sneeze coming.
I tried to hold it in but it came out as a bizarre sound.
"What the fuck? Cole, you're awake?" Dylan asked, looking at me.
"Well, I clearly am now," I answered.
"Did you hear us talking?" Mycah questioned.
I nodded.
"I, uh-"
"It's fine, Mycah." I said.
"Alright."
Dylan walked over to me and Myles, and knelt down in front of us.
"Wakey, wakey." He shook Myles.
"Don't." I scowled and slapped his hand away. "Let him sleep."
"So protective."
They both snickered.
"We are gonna head up to my room if you want to meet us up there later", Mycah said.
"Yeah, okay," I responded. "I'll go up soon."
