Chapter Five
Tris
I wake up to a blinding white light. Oh no, I think, No, no, no, not again! Then I realize I'm in a new hospital room. I look over to see Tobias on the chair next to my bed, asleep. He looks younger in his sleep... almost... peacful. I chuckle to myself... Tobias... "Peaceful." I wince, my stomach hurting, and Tobias wakes up to see me cringe.
"You okay?" Tobias asks. "Ya, I'm fine... just hurts."
"Oh... ok."
He leans over and goes for a kiss. I close my eyes, but the kiss never comes. I open my eyes, and look up. Tobias is crying... quietly, but still crying.
I put my and up to his check and wipe away the tears. "Whats wrong?" I ask gentally.
"It's just... I thought that you... that you where dead."
"Hey," I say. Tobias is looking away from me. "Hey, look at me." I put force into what I say. "I'm not gonna leave... not until you leave. Never, ever, will I leave you. You understand? I love you to much."
He smiles sadly, and then we kiss. It's not a sloppy kiss, but a deep, pationite kiss that lasts for what feels like forever. Then in the middle of the kiss the doctor walked in. We didn't notice him at first, but then he cleared his throught really loudly.
We stopped, clearing our throughts too, and I start blushing a deep, deep shade of red.
"Um, hi." I say awkwardly.
"Tris, I see that your up." Doctor, oh what was it.... John.... no.... Hank?..... YA! Thats it! He looked over at us, and I blush.
"Umm, yea, I guess you could say that."
"Ok, so do you remember what happened, or no?" Doctor Hank asked.
*Flashback*
David has he gun pointed at me. I move. One gun shot in the shoulder. Two gun shots, this one in the stomach. Pain. Oh, the pain. I tap in the code, then press the green button, then darkness.
*End of flashback*
I scream, shaking with the memories. Tobias rushes over to me. He had moved back to the chair.
"Tris. Shh, shh. It's ok... Shh, shhh." He looks over at Dr. Hank, "What the heck!? It just happened and you bring it up now!? You could have asked if she was ready to talk about it! GET OUT!!!" I'm still shaking.
"Hey, Tris.... It's ok... shhhhh." I eventually calm down and fall asleep in Tobias' lap.
