Another day went by. We were okay for what had happened. Michonne was back, but Glenn was still out there and she wasn't sure if he made it. The teacher was amongst the group of people who didn't make it, along with Mikey. It was back to three teens. Carl, me, and Ron who was acting very emo lately.

Carl and I were concerned. We know he was probably upset about Enid leaving. That's why I was thinking he didn't want to come inside because he didn't want her to go. He did seem pissed so it made sense.

We were inside playing with Judith when we noticed everyone getting together outside. We left Judy with Carol and headed to see what was up. I heard lots of growls and moans and quickly realized there were walkers outside. It was really good that they decided to immediately fix the wall from where the truck had been. I saw Rick and he was sweating like crazy.

"You hear it. Some of you saw it. They got back here, half of them." Rick said as he got in front of everyone. "Still enough to surround us 20 deep." My heart beat quickly. I took a deep breath. There were hundreds out there and there wasn't enough of us to deal with that.

"Look I know you're scared. You haven't seen anything like this. You haven't been through anything like this, but we're safe for now. The panel the truck hit seems intact. We reinforced it just in case. Either way the wall's gonna hold together. Can you?" He asked looking at everyone.

The people here, the ones that stayed back from dealing with the walkers at the canyon, they were weaker, and they knew that. I worried for them- if they could make it at all.

"The others, they're gonna be back." Rick stated.

"They're gonna be back." Rosita reassured quickly.

"Daryl, Abraham, Sasha they have vehicles. They're gonna lead em away, just like the others. And Glenn and Nicholas are gonna walk through the front gate after. They know what they're doing, and we know what we need to do. We keep noise to a minimum, pull out blinds at night, or even better keep the lights out." He explained. "We'll try to make this place as quiet as a graveyard, see if they move on."

It was scary to be this way. It reminded me of what Woodbury was like. I played with my hair with my hand when I felt my other hand being held. It was Carl. I didn't need to look to know. I held it back and kept looking at Rick.

"This place is a graveyard." Francesca a short haired woman answered. Rick looked to her.

"The quarry broke open and those walkers were heading this way." Aaron walked forward. "All of them. The plan that Rick put into place stopped that from happening. He got half of them away. I was out there recruiting with Daryl. I wanted to try and get into a cannery and scavenge, and Daryl wanted to keep looking for people. We did what I wanted and we wound up in a trap set up by those people and I lost my pack. They must've followed our tracks. Those people who attacked us found their way back because of me." Aaron explained as everyone looked at him like they were betrayed. He messed up and even if he didn't mean to it still caused people to die.

"There'll be more to talk about." Rick nodded once looking to Morgan.

"Deanna?" Rick asked looking at her as she walked away. "Deanna?" He asked louder but she didn't turn around. Rick left and everyone spread.

"So what are you thinking?" Carl asked as he looked at me.

"All those walkers- Enid might've been caught and we don't even know where Glenn is or if the heard is still going. Just a lot to be worried about." I shook my head looking at the ground.

"Don't worry so much." He told me as I looked at him.

"You say it like it's easy to do." I crossed my arms looking at him.

"It's not but it doesn't mean you can't try. It'll be too much to worry all the time." He explained looking to me.

"How can you not worry all the time? They're always out there and you never really know who is okay. Doesn't that scare you?" I asked confused and worried.

"Sometimes but I don't let it control me. I find ways to make it better. To make sure we make it." He explained. "Isn't that what you do too?" I nodded. "Then keep it that way. It didn't take over you then, and it shouldn't start now. We'll get past this, all of it."

I sighed. "You're good at pep talks." I said as I smiled lightly.

"Thanks." He smiled lightly. He looked to the right and I did too. We saw Ron throwing a knife in the grass.

"Wanna check on him?" I asked looking at Carl. He nodded lightly and we walked over.

"Hey." Carl said as he stopped playing with the knife. "Are you okay?"

"Why wouldn't I be?" He asked looking at Carl.

"You were kinda pissed yesterday when we tried to help you." I shrugged lightly.

"Yeah that. You know she left without telling me." He said playing with his knife again.

"I told her not to say goodbye. To anyone not just you." I clarified as he eyed me. I don't think he believed me.

"She's probably dead." He said looking back at the ground.

"Come on, man. You can't think like that." Carl said looking to him as he scoffed putting his knife away. He stood up and started walking away.

"We are just trying to help." I said walking closer.

"We know it's been tough lately and we just-" Carl started as Ron turned around.

"I don't need your help. Either of you." He said looking at us.

"Fine but you need to calm down. If something goes wrong and you're acting like that-" I started.

"I'm fine so I don't need you trying to make things better." He said as I looked at him agitated. "You already convinced Enid to leave."

"We didn't convince her to do anything. What's your problem?" I asked looking at him now definitely angry. "If it frustrates you that much we will get her back, okay?" I asked tilting my head lightly.

"I'm not letting you two go out there." Ron said from behind us. He grabbed my arm and Carl pushed him off.

"Don't touch her." He said looking at Ron just as agitated as I was. Ron pushed Carl back. "All right." Carl said as he pushed back at Ron.

I quickly got over to them but by the time I did Ron was already on the ground. I pointed my finger angrily at Carl and he backed up. Ron tried to get up and I looked at him.

"Try anything and I will knock you out." I warned as he just laid there.

"If you guys go, I'll tell his dad and Michonne. They'll both go looking for you and someone will end up killed." He said as he laid on the ground. "You both saved my life and now I'm gonna save yours."

"Fine we won't." I answered looking at him. "But in return you need to get your shit together." I demanded as I looked at him. Carl started walking away angrily and I followed. "What the hell?" I asked looking at him.

"He was being a jerk." Carl said looking forward as he walked quickly.

"You didn't need to start a fight. I can handle myself." I said looking at him as he kept walking. "Carl." I said as I put my hand on his arm. He shrugged it off and he kept walking but I didn't.

I knew he was mad, but why was he pointing it at me? I didn't need him pushing me away too. I went away from the house- that's where he was going and he obviously didn't want to see me.

I didn't know where else to go. I laid in the grass for a while, looking at the clouds. It was getting late though. I headed to the house and saw Carl on the porch with Judith.

I walked up not looking at him. He being like that made me pissed. I didn't want to talk to him if he didn't want to talk to me.

I walked past him and opened the door. "Lyla Ro-" I heard him say before I closed the door. I went upstairs and into bed with a comic.

I heard footsteps coming up the stairs and knew it was him.

He came in and looked at me but I kept looking at the comic. "Are you gonna talk to me?" He asked from the door.

"I don't know will you respond?" I asked sassily still looking at my comic.

"I was mad okay?" He defended himself as he stood in front of my bed.

"Why did you have to start a fight?" I asked looking at the comic still.

"He grabbed you and he was being a jerk like I said before." He answered still in front of me. I flipped the page. "Why aren't you looking at me?" He asked concerned.

"Why ignore me after?" I asked as I closed the book and stared at him.

He looked away and back at me. "I didn't know what to say."

"What is that even supposed to mean?" I asked crossing my arms angrily. "Tell me the truth." I said calmly.

"You had to get me to stop. I don't know if I would've. When he touched you I got so pissed." He shook his head.

"He wasn't trying to hurt me." I shook my head confused.

"I didn't know that." He defensively added.

"Why would you think he'd hurt me?" I asked looking at him.

"Because his dad was the one to do that to your eye." He answered looking at me. "I didn't want him to do the same. I wasn't there when Pete hurt you and I should've been. This time I was and I had to make sure you weren't hurt. After I didn't say anything because-" he shrugged trying to find the right words. "-I messed up and I didn't want to say anything to make it worse. You can protect yourself, but I can't help but make sure you don't have to try."

I looked at him and relaxed. It was probably the nicest thing anyone had done for me since before. He wanted me safe and he wanted to protect me more than himself and I- I didn't know what to do with that information.

I stood up and I went over to him as he looked at me. "You-" I started as I shook my head slowly. He loved me. I could tell, but I didn't know if he could. I wrapped my arms around him and laid my head on his chest.

"I what?" He asked as I looked at him.

You love me.

I looked at him and I smiled. "You're amazing."

He put his hand on my cheek and he smiled lightly back at me. "You aren't mad anymore?" He asked quietly.

"You did it because of kindness you just didn't know how to handle it. You were stupid but you care." I said as I held the edges of his flannel. "You were protecting me. It's something you only dream of nowadays and I have it- and I want you to know that I'll do the same for you. I'll-" I started before his lips were pressed against mine.

I kissed him back pulling more on his flannel. We both stopped and I smiled at him. "I'm sorry I'm stupid."

"If being stupid helps keep you and me alive then I'll take it." I chuckled lightly and he did the same. We kissed again and I felt safe.

What is this a cheesy sitcom?

It sounded cheesy, but it was true. It was nice. I knew things were different now.
