Nina Holmes was a time traveler. Not a very good one since she'd managed to get herself stuck in three different timelines. She was a member of the new and improved underground, a system that had been created by the deceased John Proudstar. It was a system that used mutants with specific powers to fix things that were beyond human limits. Her job was to travel throughout time to fix small problems before they rippled to become unfixable.
There were hardly ever problems that big and she wasn't qualified to fix them anyway, so she ended up sitting behind a desk and keeping the inventory of the mutants that came in. She figured learning about their powers was the closet she would come to adventure. Until something changed and half the mutant race was wiped out all at once. By a time-traveling mutant.
With nobody else to turn to, the underground sends her back to a time before mutants and humans were viewed as equals with one instruction: find Thunderbird.

You can definitely change the title. It's not very good. She's clumsy and adventurous even though she never has the chance to show it. She's adorable and is fascinated by everything. She's a time traveler and she's from the future. In the future, mutants are more accepted by humans and they have a different system in the underground. The underground is more of an organization that locates mutants in danger and helps them.
But there's a mutant with her same powers as her that travels to the past to kill mutants. He or she is the main villain in her story along with Sentinel Services. By the time the underground figures it out, most of them are dead and the only way to save them is to go back in time as well and face him or her there. That's where Nina comes in. She had one instruction and that is to find John who in her time is dead and sort of a legend. She should have her own story and it would be great if you could let it play out. Also, build your own main villain. Give him or her a purpose and a story because one-dimensional villains are the worst
