'holy shit eds! your hair has gotten so long! and curly!' i said as i rain my hand through it
it was the last month of school, may 14th to be exact
'hey hey hey, don't touch the money makers!' eddie screeched as he swatted my hand away
we laid down, holding our stomachs from laughing so hard
what we were we laughing at? some questions don't have answers
it was friday afternoon, and since steve was out at a basketball championship for his school's team for the week; eddie came over every single day this week to keep me company
our friendship has really become better and stronger these past few weeks, and it's really nice
i feel like i can tell him anything, and he won't judge me
obviously we're just friends, but some people (also known as henry and his buffoons) don't believe that and joke around that i'm cheating on richie;
i could never even dream about cheating on richie; i love him
'so, victoria; how's life?!' eddie said to me as our laughter died down
'you ask me that every five minutes! this is getting so boringgggg' i said to him
'so what are you implying, miss harrington?'
i got up and smiled at him,'i'm implying that we should leave my backyard and go down to the quarry and swim; after all it's like 100º'
'alright fine, but then we have to stop at my place for sunscreen' he said as we both got up and went back inside my house
i quickly put on my pink heart-shaped sunglasses as we headed out the door and onto our bikes to head to eddie's house
'i'll wait out here' i said as we threw our bikes down on his front lawn
'my mom isn't home' eddie answered to me
i smiled and laughed a little bit as i went inside with him
after eddie was covered head to toe in sunscreen, he offered me some but i declined,'no, no; i have to be tan for the summer and stop looking like a potato chip' with a laugh
'you look fine, victoria!' eddie said to me as we walked back out to our bikes and started riding to the quarry
about halfway there, we passed the movie theater; which also contained the arcade inside of it,'hey eddie, do you think richie is in there?'
we stopped on our bikes,'of course he is, victoria. whenever he's not with you he's there; are you going to invite him to come with us?'
i looked over at eddie, beads of sweat laced his forehead from the summer heat,'only if you're okay with it..'
he smiled,'of course i am'
with a small jump of joy, i quickly bolted into the movie theatre, heading towards the arcade, with eddie trying to keep up with me
i ran into the arcade and saw richie focused intensely on a video game, i ran over to him, making sure he wouldn't see me, and covered his eyes with my eyes
'what the fuck, dude?' richie said angrily as he died in the game since he couldn't see, and snapped around to see me
however, his expression quickly changed from slight anger to complete softness and happiness
'baby, i thought you and eddie were hanging out today' he said with the smile on his face not fading
'i know, i know, but i really wanted to see you and eddie said it was okay if you come with us to the quarry!' i said with happiness beaming through my voice
'so, rich, do you wanna come to with us?' i asked him, most likely already knowing his answer
'why would i say no to any chance of seeing you half naked? hell yeah i'll come!' he said with a slight smirk and a wink
i lightly slapped his arm and smiled as we all walked out of the arcade and headed to the quarry
'ew! ew! get away from me!' richie said with a loud scream as eddie chased him around, trying to kiss him
i laughed as they finally settled down, i was still in my yellow sundress, but eddie and richie were in their tighty-whities
'the only person allowed to kiss me is my hot stuff!' richie stated with a fake french accent, trying to impersonate napoleon, but failing terribly
'oh, richie baby' was all i said before richie came over to me and the rock i was sitting on and sat right next to me, with absolutely no space between us
not that i minded it, though
'so, baby, what do you wanna do now? strip for me?' richie asked in the worlds worst elvis presley accent
'ugh, never!' i said with a laugh, knowing it annoyed richie
'well, well, well, then i guess i'll have to drown you in kisses until you surrender!' richie said in his normal voice again
he lept forward at me, making sure not to hurt me, while we toppled off of the rock and onto the ground as he kissed my face again and again
i laughed as he kept on tickling and kissing me, until i eventually kissed him back when he kissed my lips
his tongue slipped in my mouth and it would have gone further, that was until eddie awkwardly cleared his throat and we both got up from the ground and each other
both of the boys awkwardly stood there, richie with a small smirk on his face, as I took off my yellow sundress and revealed my muted purple bralette and matching underwear
'damn, hot stuff' richie said as he walked over to me and pulled me close to him
'oh my gosh richie you're nasty' i said to him as he tried to slap my butt but i ran away to avoid it
he laughed as eddie gagged at his actions
'sooo, what now guys?' eddie asked awkwardly
'awh, eddie; i'm sorry you're third wheeling. this was supposed to be our day' i said with a slight sigh, having a feeling that i had ruined it with bringing richie along
'it's fine, victoria; it's al-' eddie began to say, but richie interrupted him.'last one in's a rotten egg!' he screamed and then ran off of the cliff and into the water
me and eddie quickly jumped in, but eddie landed a little bit after i did
'haha loserrrr!' richie yelled at eddie
eddie laughed at richie and splashed me
'hey! what did i do?!' i laughed and yelled as i attempted to splash eddie back, but richie swam over to me and engulfed me in his arms
we ended up splashing around for a while and then swimming over to where it was shallow water to look for turtles
it got quiet for a little while as we stopped looking for turtles and i spoke up between the three of us
'so, eds, what were you saying before richie interrupted you?'
eddie and richie both perked up at the sounds of their names
eddie answered,'i was just saying that it was fine that richie came along since it's almost summer and we have all summer to hang out; well, us two. not richie, cause uh,' he went quiet for a little bit, debating whether or not he should say the words out loud
'cause, uh, richie's moving' he said quietly
'uh, yeah i- uh- get it, cause' i choked, and could feel the emotion rushing through me
'i should get going, y' know back to steve he's probably waiting for me' i rushed out, not wanting them, especially richie, to see me upset about him moving
'but steve's not-' richie whispered as him and eddie still stood in the water but I swam over to our stuff at the bottom of the cliff and quickly threw on my sundress and sunglasses before running over to my bike
richie, being faster than me, caught up to me right before i got to my bike and lightly grabbed my shoulder and spun me around, ever so lightly
he saw the hot tears that ran down my face and wrapped his arms around me tightly
i wrapped my arms around him as his chin rested on my forehead and cried into the hawaiian shirt he threw on moments after he got out of the water
we didn't say anything for a while, but our arms were still tightly wrapped around the other's; feeling as if, maybe, just maybe, if we held on a little tighter we could stay in each other's arms forever and not have to worry about anything that's happening around us
i felt something wet on my face, and as I looked up I saw that richie was crying with his eyes closed, it made me cry even more knowing that on june 26th, richie would be gone and off to new york with his mom
