Her eyes witnessed his suffering.
She wanted to help and to care for him yet, she was only left with unfulfilled whims.
She was broken. He was shattered. They were unable to fix each other with their souls' remnants scattered.
He fell deeper, then she thought possible.
She could do nothing.
It was incorrigible.
Palpitations thumped repetitively inside her. Waterfalls gushed out of her eyes as she realised the extent that was sacrificed.
Continuously she knew he strived to go on
but, he believed his opponents had won.
Despite that she knew he'd come far. Surviving in the insanity of brutal war.
Although to him she tried to soar.
His heart remained embodied in horrendous gore.
