James POV
When we get to the hospital, of course the police were there, ready to ask questions. They take Riley to the police station, but I'm told to stay here.
"I'll be fine." Riley tells me as she's about to leave.
"I know." I give her a small hug and she leaves.
I place my hand on the knob of Josh's hospital room. After he had seen the blood, the doctors assumed he had fell back in surprise, hit his off the table, and is now suffering from a concision. I finally push the door open and walk in. He looks up.
"Who are you?" He snaps.
"I'm James." I respond. He scowls.
"Yeah, your the guy who had come to my apartment looking for my girlfriend." He takes another look at me. "And your also Riley's ex-boyfriend, the one she caught kissing another girl, and broke her heart." I stare at him stunned.
"H-how did you know that?" I ask. He smirks.
"Riley's my girlfriend. She told me everything about how you cheated on her."
"Okay, first of all, I did not cheat on her! Beth kissed me! And second, Riley's your ex-girlfriend as well now!" I snap. He starts laughing.
"Listen here, if you ever think that Riley is going to take you back now, your crazy!" He growls at me. I let out a pathetic laugh.
"I'm crazy? I'm not the one who beat her up! Now, if you think she'll take you back, you belong in a mental hospital!" I snap back at him, and leave the room.
I think about what he said. She had trusted him enough to spill her heart out about how much I had hurt her, after she had lost all trust in me. Will she take me back when all of this is said and done? Well, I'm don't think I can worry about her getting back together with Josh, that's for sure.
