"Hey, Leah." Booth said as he opened up my office door.
"Hey Seeley, what's up?" I respond as I set my water bottle down on my desk and lean back in my chair.
"We have a deaf little girl at the Jeffersonian, can you go down there and help translate?"
"Yeah of course, Seeley." You replied as you grabbed your purse, water bottle, and car keys.
I put my purse in the front seat, placed my water bottle in the cup holder, and turned my car on. I pulled out of my parking spot and made my way to the Jeffersonian. As soon as I pulled into the parking lot, I parked in a space and grabbed my stuff. I got out of my car, locked it, and headed inside. I made my way over to Dr. Saroyan's office where the little girl was. I knocked on the door and waited for it to open. A few moments later, Lance Sweets came out.
"Hey Leah, thank you for coming. The girl is speaking French, and seems very scared. She's inside this room. Follow me." He said as he opened the door.
As we walked into the room, the girl and I made eye contact. I made my way toward the empty chair that was near her and took a seat.
"Bonjour, Je suis Leah. Comment vous appelez-vous?"
"Je suis Meghan."
Her and I talked for an hour or so while I translated for her and Sweets. After everything was done and sorted, Sweets invited me to lunch. Booth and I normally go to lunch, but one time isn't going to hurt him. I took out my phone and proceeded to text Booth.
Me: Hey, Sweets and I are getting lunch today after work. Hope you don't mind?
Seeley :3 : You and him don't even talk???
Me: We're discussing work.
Me: I'll make it up to you. I'll buy dinner tonight?
Seeley :3 : ...
Seeley :3 : Make it Thai and it's a deal.
Me: Deal
Lance and I made our way to a restaurant that's located a little outside of town. We sat at a booth and placed our orders.
"So, Leah, what languages do you speak?"
"I speak French, Lithuanian, Portuguese, Spanish, and Japanese."
"Wow, that's... that's amazing!"
"Haha thanks. What got you into being a shrink?"
We talked to each while we ate, and I could really feel the chemistry between us growing.
"So, how to you and Booth know each other?" He asked. I have him a puzzled and confused look, "Do I have something in my teeth?"
"Booth is my brother. Have you ever actually looked at my last name?"
His face flushed and he rushed to hide it, "You're cute when you blush." I said.
We talked and ate and I really had a good time. We walked towards the front doors after everything was paid for.
"I had a great time Sweets."
"I enjoyed myself as well."
After a few moments of awkward silence later, Sweets spoke up.
"Did you feel chemistry, like relationship chemistry too? Or is it just me?"
"I felt it too."
"Can...I kiss you?"
"I thought you'd never ask."
When we kissed, it felt as though nothing else mattered, time stopped. My heart skipped a beat. I was truly in love. We exchanged numbers and made our way to our prospective places in the work place.
*Later that night*
"How was lunch with Sweets?"
"It went very well."
"Oh really?"
"Yeah..? What are you trying to insinuate?"
"Well a little birdie told me you two kissed and are..pretty fond of each other."
My heart sank and my face flushed.
"A shrink? Really? A shrink? You could at least get another FBI Special Agent. You can do better than a shrink."
"He was actually interested in what I had to say, unlike you."
This is when Booth started arguing with me. Over and over was 'I don't do that' with my reply of 'You're literally doing it now.'
By the end of the night, I had convinced him not to kill Sweets, but being hostile and protective is a different story.
