MADISON'S POV
How exactly one person could go from sweet to completely cold in less than a day, I will never know. Matt's been keeping up with it, too. He's been nothing but a douche for the past two weeks and I'm getting sick of it.
I mean, I know I kind of said I didn't have feelings for him but that doesn't give him a reason to act like that, even my mom is getting suspicious and she's the most oblivious person I've met.
"Madison! John's at the door, go let him in." She called from downstairs, why she couldn't let him in herself is beyond me.
He didn't tell me he was coming over, so I'm not really sure why he's here.
"Um.. hi? I didn't know you were coming over today." I said as I opened the door, revealing a grinning John.
He rocked back and forth on his heels. "Actually, I came to pick up Matt."
Speaking of the devil, Matt pushed past me out the door, standing next to John. "Well, let's get going then!"
"I, uh, sorry Mads!" And with that, my boyfriend was being pulled away by the one person who hates me more than I do.
Those two have been spending a ridiculous amount of time together and I don't really know how to feel about it, it's pretty frightening actually.
MATT'S POV
"So... You like Madi, right?" John asked as he sat with one hand on the steering wheel, not looking at me.
I froze in my seat. How could he know? Did Madison tell him? Am I that easy to read? I'm fucking dead.
"What?"
He quickly looked over at me with raised eyebrows before turning back towards the road. "You're friends with her, right? You talk to her?"
Oh.
"I guess. We haven't really been talking that much lately though." I admitted. We weren't talking because I was being a dick to her, but it's easier than trying to be nice.
"That sucks. Either way, do you have any suggestions for a date? Our 1 month is coming up and I guess that's a big deal to girls. I was thinking maybe a hotel or something." He replied nonchalantly, though it took everything I had not to lunge myself at him.
"A hotel? That is absolutely not happening."
John laughed. "What do you mean, bro? Who knows, maybe I'll get lucky." He continued, looking over and punching my arm.
"Is that all you're really in it for?" I asked, almost afraid for an answer. Madison doesn't deserve to be treated like that. After the what, two weeks, John had been trying to make an effort to hang out with me I was finally starting to accept the fact that he's a good boyfriend to her. Until today.
"In what, the relationship? Isn't that what you're in them for? I mean yeah, she's nice and stuff, but damn she's hot."
Does he even know how stupid he's making himself sound?
"You can't just use girls like that, man. Madison deserves so much better than that, and you know it." I told him, trying to keep my cool. The way he was talking about her made me want to punch a brick wall.
"I can, and have been for as long as I can remember. Why are you so hung up on this, dude?" John questioned, annoyance lacing through his tone.
I took a deep breath. "Because I think I'm in love with your girlfriend!"
He looked over at me like I was insane, taking his focus off the road. "Dude..."
And next thing I knew, a car slammed into the side of the car full force, sending us flying across the intersection.
......
"Dude.. Dude.. Matt! Wake up." I woke up to John's voice before opening my eyes and looking around.
We were in the car, but it wasn't damaged, instead parked in front of a beach.
"You fell asleep on the way here... Did you even get any sleep last night?"
Wait... So I didn't confess my love for Madison to her boyfriend, and we didn't get hit?
"I, uh.. No not really. Let's go surfing." I said, trying to change the subject as I hopped out of the truck and walked around to the bed to grab the surfboards.
"SURFBOARDT!" He shouted in one of those deep voices no one can pull off.
"Never again." I replied, shaking my head and letting out a laugh as we caught the attention of passerby's.
"Matt Espinosa!" A girl screamed as she and her friends ran up to me. "I love you so much! Can we get pictures, please?"
John laughed and stepped aside, letting me take pictures with the girls. Honestly, I just wanted to surf but I kept Madi's words in the back of my mind as I smiled genuinely for the cameras.
Once they left, I pulled out my own phone and took a selfie with John making a weird face in the background. I hadn't updated twitter in a while, so may as well give my fans something to look at.

"Damn bro, my phone's blowing up. What'd you do?"
I smirked and kicked off my shoes, getting a head start on the sand. "Perks of having an internet famous friend."
Was he really my friend? He hasn't given me a reason to hate him.. Even though my natural instinct was to loathe him with every fiber in my body.
Well he was talking about Madi like she was propert- wait, no. That was the dream.
He did want to- That was the dream too.
Dammit.
Maybe that dream was a sign?
"So I heard that your 1 month with Madi is coming up soon.... Apparently that's a big deal. Got any plans yet?" I asked as we treaded the burning sand, dragging our gear behind us.
I saw him shrug out of the corner of my eye. "I don't know, probably do one of those dinner dates or movies in the back of the truck kind of thing. I heard those are cliche ideas girls are in love with.. So why not?"
"Oh thank god." I muttered, obviously not quiet enough, as I heard John laugh next to me.
"What?"
"Oh, nothing. I thought I cut myself with a shell but I didn't." I replied casually, mentally praising myself for a decent comeback for a change.
My phone vibrated, and I had to stop and drop everything to grab it out of my pocket.
Madisun: i think someones in the house
Did she not know her mom was home when we left?
Me: yeah, ur mom
Madisun: no Matt she left like 15 minutes ago
I sighed and turned to face John, who was impatiently staring at me. I shoved the phone in his face and picked up my stuff. "We have to go back, now."
