its so peculiar the way that feelings form --
it starts with a hello--
a simple wave,
a gesture that promises some sort of interest --
and maybe a smile --
a glimmer of hope in her eyes
and so it begins
next day, he waves and she smiles, waving back
he asks about her day so far
and she responds, a mess as her hands shake and she stumbles over her words
furrowed brows, looks of longing and awkward elbow brushes
encourage nerves and increased heartbeats
and hope is alive within her heart
