A/n: sorry I took long to update this, I've been really busy with family over Christmas.

This is also the last chapter :(

----------------------------

Josh's Pov:

Throughout the duration of the week I noticed how Tyler seemed quiet. The boy was oblivious to his surroundings; he did not pay attention in classes and in conversations was completely zoned out. It's as if he were in his own little world dragging him away from reality and into the depths of his mind. Tyler looked lost.

"Are you okay?" I asked as we walked down the school hall side by side. It was Friday and school had just finished.

"Yes," he replied staring at the students passing by. Jenna walked by with her hand locked with Chance's, the couple had recently started dating.

I sighed putting an arm around his waist and pulling him close to me. "No you're not. What's wrong?"

"Nothing," he mumbled pushing my arm away. I frowned looking at the boy sadly. "I've just been thinking too much."

"About what?" I questioned.

Pushing the falling hair away from his face, the brunette sighed. "Remember when I was offered that scholarship to that sports school," He began and I nodded. "Should I go?"

"If it makes you happy then yes," I replied with a shrug.

"But it's in L.A, Josh!" Tyler yelled flailing his arms, clearly confused and sad. This had obviously been stressing his mind out too much. "I wouldn't be able to see you or Brendon or Ryan or just any of my friends!"

My arms immediately pulled the upset boy towards me letting him rest his head against my chest as I rubbed soothing circles into his back. I could feel a wet patch on my shirt where Tyler's tears had soaked through but I didn't care, my arms just held Tyler even closer.

"I also came out to my dad," Tykler mumbled into my chest.

My eyes widened as I lifted up his chin so his eyes met mine. "Was he mad?" I questioned. Tyler nodded slowly.

"Baby," I hummed sadly pressing my lips upon his forehead. "Did he do anything to you?"

"He slapped me," the brunette muttered. "And that's it, apart from him ignoring me all week. I don't think that he wants me living in under the same roof as him."

"But he can't kick you out, can he?" I asked.

Tyler shrugged in response. "I wouldn't be surprised if he did. I feel as if he's trying to get rid of me some how, I'm not sure."

Sighing, I picked Tyler up bridal style causing him to squeak. Then carried him out of the school gates ignoring the stares and whistles from other students (not mentioning any names *cough* Brendon *cough*)

Tyler's hands clung onto my shirt as he smiled into my chest with a burning heat radiating off his flushed and freckled cheeks. His perfectly sloped nose dug into my body with the sun making his skin appear golden in the light.

A smile tugged at my lips as I smiled down at the boy in my arms. How did I manage to get so lucky?

The bus drove by the stop so we got on and seated ourselves at the back, placing our school bags down on the seats next to us as there was hardly anyone on board.

There was not a word on the journey home, we just sat in silence. But it wasn't an awkward silence, it was peaceful and I felt content with my arm around Tyler.

As we arrived by our houses I waved goodbye as I walked over to my front door. "Text me later!" I called over to Tyler.

"I will!" He answered back before going inside and shutting the door.

Tyler's Pov:

"Tyler, come here!" My father yelled from the dining room.

I groaned setting my school bag down on the floor. My dad hadn't talked to me all week and now he suddenly wanted to have a conversation. But of course, I already knew what he wanted to talk to me about.

"Yes?" I answered in annoyance as I walked through the dining room door. He was seated on one of the chairs by the table with a sheet of paper and a pen laying before him.

"Sign it," he ordered, no expression displayed on his face as he glared at me coldly.

"What if I don't want to?" I questioned with my arms crossed as I leaned back against the wall.

He sighed in frustration. "Tyler, I'm tired of your shit. Just sign the fucking letter already."

"Why are you so desperate for me to sign it?" I asked in curiosity.

"I just think this is a great opportunity for you." My father shrugged pushing the letter across the table, closer to me.

I furrowed my brows looking at the man. "An opportunity that's all the way in L.A, that is. You're just trying to get rid of me!" I shouted.

"I'm not trying to get rid of you," my father tried, clenching his jaw in anticipation.

"Yes you are!" I retorted. "You haven't talked to me all week and now you suddenly decided you wanted to have a conversation with me. And it's about me signing the letter to go to a boarding school all the way in L.A so you won't have to see me anymore!" I yelled in realization.

My father gritted his teeth as his eyes were fixated on me in pure hatred. I had figured out his plan and he hated it.

Shaking my head, I glared at the man that I was being forced to name as my father. I wanted nothing to do with him.

"You really are against me being gay, aren't you?" I stated angrily. He said nothing in response.

I scoffed picking up the letter and watching my dad's eyes widen at what I was about to do. Two hands gripping either side of the torturous paper as a loud ripping sound was emitted as it was torn in half. Then in half again, and again, and again until all it was was a pile shredded up nonsense upon the table.

All my problems and stress had seemed to had drifted away at that very moment. Any past worries were now gone and replaced with an overwhelming relief that flooded my veins.

I was happy.

"You're going to regret that," my dad muttered, eyes attatched to the mess of paper on the table that I left for him to clean up.

I chuckled deviously leaning back against the wall. "Oh father, I've regretted a lot of things in my life but this will not be one of them."

"Like what?" He questioned rudely.

"Like every moment I've ever trusted you in choosing my decisions for me," I answered plainly. "So from now on, I'm not letting you influence what ever I choose to do."

My father stood up angrily; fists clenched and shaking as he shot fireballs from his raging eyes. "I'm going to make your life hell, Tyler!"

I rolled my eyes. "We'll see about that," I smirked walking out of the room and ignoring the loud smashing sound of a plate ringing from the dining room.

I made my way down the corridor and into my bedroom, making sure to lock my door, where I collapsed down on my bed and pulled out my phone.

I'm not sure how long I was on it for but I started to notice when the sunlight had stopped seeping through my curtains and the dark sky took over. My bedroom was dimly lit by a single bedside lamp which kept me from going into complete darkness.

There was then a sudden loud bang against my glass door from the outside. Standing up in curiosity, I walked over to my garden door and drew back the long curtains to see a basketball laying outside on the grass.

I smiled looking up to see a certain red head climbing over the fence and jogging over to it. The moonlight being enough just to make out his familiar features. His cheeks burned bright red when he saw me standing on the otherside of the door with my arms crossed.

Sliding the door wide open as Josh slowly approached and bent down to pick up the ball, I smirked with an eyebrow raised.

"Again?" I questioned.

Josh raised his arms in defense. "Hey, it was Jordan who threw it over."

"Alright, so I now know to blame Jordan when he one day smashes the glass with that basketball," I laughed.

The red head chuckled leaning in to place a kiss on my lips; his faded lips moving in time with my wetted plump ones which sent my stomach into a swirling mess of butterflies.

I furrowed my brows as he pulled apart and started walking back to the fence, but then I realized it was only to throw the ball back over. Josh then came back running to me, crashing our lips together and pushing me backwards inside so I fell back on my bed.

We lay together, his arm around my waist and other supporting my neck as we made out with our heads resting atop of the pillows.

I loved the taste of Josh's lips; it was a minty flavour that I couldn't describe but something that I'd definitely never get bored of. They also fitted perfectly with mine, like two jigsaw puzzles that were meant to be and I loved it.

Our teeth clashed as we both smiled into the kiss, Josh's pearly whites and my slightly crooked but cute teeth. I immediately burst into a fit of giggles digging my face into Josh's chest as I felt him smile into my neck, his muscular arms tightening around my body causing me to melt inside. Something about Josh just made me completely fall apart, but in a good way. My body went hot and tingly with Josh. It felt safe whenever I was with him and I never wanted to leave his embrace.

I sighed in content as we adjusted our body positions so he was laying flat with my head upon his clothed chest. My fingers trailed over the faint outline of his abs through his top, Josh snickered squeezing my side.

"I love your hair," Josh said with a smile as he ran his fingers through the soft brown curls that sat atop my head.

"I love you," I mumbled into his chest, but immediately regretted as I felt Josh lift up my jaw so we were making eye contact.

"I-I'm sorry," I apologized staring into his mesmerizing coffee brown eyes. My cheeks heated up to a vivid burning red. "Is it too soon to say that?"

Josh nodded slowly. "Yeah, we've only been dating for about a week but fuck it. I love you too Tyler Joseph," he grinned causing me to start laughing again.

His arm squeezed me tight, pulling our bodies in as close as possible. Josh had the biggest smile on his face that could never be deemed as fake. "And I mean it. I love love love you, Ty."

"And I love love love you too, Joshua," I sheepishly smiled with my head snuggled up in the crook of his neck, cheeks blushing bright.

We stayed in that position for a long time way too caught up in the moment to think about anything else. It was what you would define as enamoring; being perfectly in love and all too infatuated with one another to think straight.

All of a sudden, Josh then perked his head up slightly trying to catch a glance of something on the other side of the room. I furrowed my brows as he sat up completely causing me to have to sit up to.

"Josh," I whined as he stood up leaving me seated on the bed. He ignored me though and walked straight over to my desk.

The red head bent down and pulled out the basketball that was laying hidden in the corner underneath it then turned around to face me with the ball in his hands.

"Is this the basketball that I threw over and never got back?" He asked in curiosity.

I nodded my head with my arms crossed. A pout forming on my lips as his full attention was on the ball, not me.

"Yeah, that's the ball which caused you to break into my bedroom at 2am and scare the living shit outta me," I stated bitterly with my brows drawn together.

Josh chuckled at my response as he walked back over and sat down next to me on the bed.

"That's when we first met," he smiled warmly, eyes filled with love as one of his hands grazed lightly over my thigh.

My harsh expression softened into a happy face of realisation. A bright smile stretching across my lips as Josh placed a soft short kiss to my flushed red cheek.

"You hated me back then," Josh laughed. "You even threatened to phone the police."

I couldn't help but let a small rosy giggle escape my lips as I replayed the memory in my head. It seemed like it had been so long since that day and we look at us now, boyfriends. We'd made it this far.

"Well, you are still kinda annoying," I shrugged, smiling as Josh pushed me playfully.

"Do you have a marker?" Josh asked looking around.

"On my desk," I answered. "Why?"

Josh didn't respond. He just grabbed a black marker and sat back down on the bed with the ball on his lap. Taking the lid off, the black ink was carefully being drawn onto the surface of the ball. I turned my head to the side trying to figure out what Josh was doing.

Once done, Josh put the marker down. I immediately recognized a heart shape drawn in the center causing me to smile warmly. Inside were the letters written:

TJ + JD

(A/n: ignore my insanely bad photoshop)

"Josh," I spoke softly with my hand tracing over the heart.

"This basketball, it's something special between us to remind us of how we met," Josh said placing a kiss to my forehead sending shivers down my spine. "Something that we will treasure."

"Yeah," I chuckled lightly all too overwhelmed with emotions. Josh lifted my jaw kissing my lips slowly but passionately with his thumb cupping my crimson coloured cheeks. My fingers trailing down his chest as he broke away from the kiss, lips falling agape with them glazed over with a layer of saliva.

The tips of our noses touched as we held the ball the between us, our ball. I smiled remembering our past; it's funny how much I hated Josh, however things can easily change.

Josh and I were closer than ever now and I loved it..... Despite Brendon's sassy remarks.

"Basketballs," Josh whispered grinning, our eyes locked in a trance.

I smiled back, thick lashes slowly fluttering close as Josh's lips hovered lightly over mine.

"Basketballs."

End.
