The Bright Side
Your girl
My daughter
Together
Grown adult
Night
There is nothing you can't do
You
Set yourself free
Abstract idea
Deep breath
Think positive
Recovery
Mirror-Mirror
Everything to make this work
He was my everything
Game
Fate
You are not to be unseen!
Reset, remember, regain
Goodbye
For the future
We are not our parents
Who you are
Angels
Winter has arrived
Too cold to work
Building from the ground up
Imagination
Starting over?

A poem about you

I am here for you

Phone rings

It's you again

Calling often

Like a best friend

The circumstances are obvious

Unforgiven madness wells up

All you wanted was a family

You just had to go through the motions

No one cared

Not a soul was there

On a planet with billions of people

You were always alone

We moved on with our own lives

Never knowing that someday

She

Would be our reason for reconnection

Twelve years

Twelve years without a big sister

Ten years knowing you had a nephew

Eight years since her and I last spoke

On your last glimpse of her

She kicked you out

Just like she did to me

You were older and not a source of income

She would never have that kind living under her roof

You deserve better than they could give you

You deserve to know someone cares

I care for you

I always have and always will

We chatted online some years ago

I told you I loved you

You were uncertain

Saying that love might come with time

It's always been there

Little brother

I hope you see that now
