On a long drive, Gatsby and his friend Nick along with his cousin Daisy and her husband Tom found themselves in an unknown town. They passed through what seemed to be some sort of blockade. It was invisible to everyone until you came up to it. Once you went through it there was some woodsy area then you came into a tiny looking town. They passed a sign that said Welcome to Storybrooke. They came to a hotel, a diner, and a pawn shop. There were some houses nearby and some apartments. It was a very small town but it was nice.
The four friends looked around them as they drove through the town. They didn't understand where they were or what had just happened. On the street corner was an older lady who looked like a grandma arguing with a younger looking girl who was wearing obscene clothing. Gatsby, who had been driving the car, parked on the side or the road next to the diner. He stepped out of the car first, then Nick and then Tom and then Daisy followed. Gatsby walked up to the elderly lady and asked about the place.
"Who are you?" The woman asked in a somewhat rude tone.
"Sorry to interrupt you, ma'am. I was just curious to know what this place was. I mean it's not on any maps or anything. I've never heard of this place." Gatsby said trying to be polite.
"You're new here? How did you get in?" The woman asked in a more concerned tone.
"We just drove in," Gatsby replied confused.
"Come with me. All four of you. Was there anyone else with you?"
"No, it was just us. What's going on? Where are we supposed to be following you to?"
"Just come with me. We won't hurt you."
"We don't even know who you are."
"You can call me Granny." With that, the four followed Granny into the diner. She fixed them each a burger and fries.
"Where are you from?" Granny asked wanting to know more about them and how they got through the cloak around the town. The cloak was only meant to allow people who were from a magical background in.
"We're from New York," Daisy said.
"So what is this place?" Nick inquired.
"It's called Storybrooke," Granny replied. Suddenly there was a bright green light that showed up outside. All of the other people in the diner rushed to the window to see what was happening. Granny and the younger lady that she had been arguing pushed their way to the front and then through the door. The light was coming from a building about a block down the road.
Gatsby and his curious crew decided to see what the fuss was about. They followed the light to the building it was coming from. A pawn shop. The light seemed to create a hole in the floor. They stood around it looking down into it.
"What do you think it is?" Nick asked.
"I don't know," Gatsby replied. Daisy took a step to close and fell in screaming the whole way down. Gatsby dove in after her and then Nick followed. Tom decided to stay behind. He didn't want to go somewhere else he didn't know. He felt he had seen enough adventure for one day. Tom left the pawn shop feeling rather curious yet disturbed.
While walking back to the diner he ran into a cute and busty looking girl. He flushed and apologized by allowing himself to pay for a cup of coffee. She had given him her name, Myrtle. He was quite curious about her and she was of him. The two were instantly attracted to each other and she invited him back to her place. Needless to say, he didn't turn her down.
Meanwhile, through the green portal, the gang had ended up on a reserved island. A loud cackle was heard from behind them from a dangerous looking jungle. Daisy, being the most curious, ran straight into the thicket of trees. Nick and Gatsby shared a worried look before following suit. Daisy had stopped and was staring in horror at something just above the trees.
"Daisy what the heck are you..." Nick was cut off by another evil sounding laugh. Daisy pointed up at the eyes watching them surrounded by a black body. Gatsby and Nick froze for a second before grabbing Daisy and dragging her back towards a cave in an attempt to hide. Daisy still frozen muttered, "He is gonna doom us all... did you see the little boy beside glowing eyes?"
Gatsby shook her and whispered frantically,"What little boy? Should we go back for him? Is he in danger? Please say something.¨
Nick put a hand on Gatsby's shoulder and told him that the little boy was probably a part of her imagination because she was in complete shock. Little did they know she had seen Pan, as in Peter Pan and his minion, the shadow. After what felt like hours a man entered in interesting attire. It was a bronze suit that could be suited for a robot. The little boy in the jungle had followed the older looking guy and was being extremely manipulative.
¨But you know the truth... I raised you and took care of you. Do you really think I can let that go, Rumple?¨ Peter asked. The man, appearing to be Rumple, grumbled and argued with the boy as he went by a shelf of colored vials and bottles.
¨I came here to reason with you. To bring you back and be a father, a grandfather and even a great-grandfather. But I see there is no point in doing so seeing as you only want me to remain here with you. You'll never change will you." Rumple argued.
"Who said I wanted to? And are you really going to call me a bad father when all your son has ever done is run away from you? You still come back to me."
"Leave Baelfire out of this."
"Look, I know all you've ever wanted is one big happy family but it's time for you to face reality. It's never going to happen, son. You should give in and stay here with me. Why don't we make a deal?"
"Oh no no. I don't make deals with people like you."
"What could you possibly mean? I'm your father."
"You're a manipulative--" Rumplestiltskin was cut off. A man approached Pan. He was wearing a cloak and had the hood on. His face was hard to see because of this but you could see a bit of blond hair and a sharp nose.
"Sorry to interrupt sir but I thought you would like to know, we have the boy." The man said. He had a deep voice. Pan let an evil smirk creep onto his face.
"Good. Thank you, Felix. You've done a great thing. Now, take me to him." With that Felix and Pan walked off. Rumple stood there looking defeated. He didn't know what to do now. All he knew was that he wanted to find his grandson and he wanted to do it his way. Gatsby and Nick looked at each other then back to Rumple.
"Maybe he can help us?" Nick suggested in a whisper.
"You think so?" Gatsby whispered back. Nick nodded. Rumplestiltskin began to walk off. Gatsby, Nick, and Daisy followed along behind a wall of bushes. Daisy wasn't paying attention to where she was stepping and stepped on a twig causing it to snap. The three of them and Rumple froze. Rumple turned around quickly.
"Who's there?" Rumple demanded. No answer. He walked closer to the bushes and listened. Gatsby put his arm out in front of Daisy and Nick. Nick was standing behind Daisy. They all held their breath for a moment.
"Come on out now. I know you're there," He said with a daunting tone. Gatsby looked at Daisy and Nick and they exchanged a knowing look. Gatsby stepped out slowly.
"I'm sorry sir. We're a bit lost. We drove into this strange town then we fell through this portal. We have no clue where we are or what's going on. Could you help us?" Gatsby spoke softly.
"We? How many of you are there?" Rumple demanded again.
"It's just the three of us. My name's Jay Gatsby and these are my friends Daisy and her cousin, Nick. We don't mean any harm we just want to go home." As Gatsby spoke their names Daisy and Nick stepped out of the bushes. Gatsby spoke softly in order to show that he truly meant no harm.
"How did you say you got here again?"
"We just drove in. Why does that seem like such a big deal to everyone?"
"Because no one can get in unless they are from a magical land or if they're a descendant of someone from that world."
"What? No that's impossible. What other world? This is the only world. There is no such thing as magic," Gatsby insisted. As he was speaking Rumplestiltskin had vanished and reappeared behind them.
"You mean like this?"
"Yeah. How'd you do that?"
"Magic. Now let's see what we can do to get you out of here. I have a hiding place where we can talk privately. Will you join me?"
"Sure. Anything to get out of here."
"Very well then." Rumple moved his hand through the air in a circular motion and a puff of purple smoke came from all directions. They soon vanished and then reappeared in what seemed to be a cave.
As soon as they reappeared, Rumplestiltskin walked over to one of the walls that had a few shelves with various objects on it. He shuffled through it all and then he picked up a bean that was glowing green. Rumple told them that it opened a portal to their world. He told them that as soon as they got back they should leave and never return or any anything about what they had seen while they were there. Rumple then tossed the bean to the ground and it opened a portal. They all jumped into the portal and did as he said.
In all of the excitement, Daisy had actually forgotten about Tom, they all did. They found Gatsby's car and left. Tom was left alone in the little town of Storybrooke and never saw or heard from them again. He was perfectly happy with that too because he could now live with Myrtle and start his whole life over again and no one knew about him.
