Chapter Thirty Five

He led me to his room, which was practically half of the whole upstairs. The gaurd Rob laughed when he saw me, saying "she looked more threatening in the surviellence."

His room was a light blue, and he had a huge bed against the wall furthest from the door. His closet didn't have doors, it was just another whole in the wall. A huge whole. His closet was probably the size of my bathroom. He didn't have a personal bathroom, and I felt myself doing some more comparisons to what I have.

He laid on his bed and patted beside him. I went over, half cautionously and half practically pooping myself. "Common, lets go." He urged and laughed. "I'm not going to hurt you. I don't bite."

I sat on the edge of his bed, still timid. He grabbed me around the waist and pulled me down beside him. "What are you doing?!" I yelped.

"Trying to get you to feel more comfortable," He smiled. He kissed my lips again and then pulled away slowly. He was looking me right in the eyes. That's when I realized his eyes were blue, more blue than Chase's. I leaned into him and kissed him back. It wasn't for the kissing, it was to get Chase out of my mind, to not see Chase's eyes in Ivan's.

When Ivan pulled away first I was slightly surprised until the door opened on the other side of the huge room. "Hey dad" Ivan said.

"Who's this?" His father asked. He was a business man for sure. Suit, tie, slick hair cut, clean shave.

"Sam," I said.

"Hi Sam, nice to see you've made yourself comfortable."  I could feel the blood rushing to my face as I blushed and sat up fast.

"Dad, come on." Ivan sighed.

"Just checking in," His father smirked at him and gave me a wink. He shut the door and Ivan turned to kiss me. He pushed me back down onto the bed gently.

"I'm sorry 'bout him," Ivan murmured. I just nodded a little as we continued kissing.

Hours passed, we just kept kissing and kissing and we may have started to watch a movie but ended up kissing. "I should get home," I said while laying on his chest.

"Yeah, probably. I have a work out session at eight with Rob." He smiled at me.

"Home gym?" I asked and he nodded.

"I really like you, Sam" he smiled. "I like your mouth," he smiled more at me and laughed a little. I smiled back.

"I like you too." I said

I laid on my bed at home, it was much softer than Ivans. My eyes fell shut as soon as my head hit the pillow.

More taps on the window led me to glare at it. Chase was standing outside. I lost my breath and stared at his face. He smiled softly at my shock and tapped on the window again with a small laugh. I jumped up and opened the window beside me.

"Where have you been?!" I hugged him and he pushed me away harshly. "What?" I asked.

"How's Ivan?" He glared at me, "how are his lips?"

"Fine." I glared back, "Better than yours."

"I don't think so," he smirked.

"Let's see about it then," I smirked back. He shrugged and grabbed my face between his soft hands and kissed my lips. I lost my breath again and my heart stopped. His kisses had meaning behind them, they stopped me in my tracks and threw my heart against the wall. He kept kissing me, and I could feel he was enjoying it too. "Still sure about that, love?" he whispered against my lips.

"No," I whispered and leaned my head on his shoulder. He pushed me away again, glaring.

"Stop this." He whispered in my face. "Stop leaving me behind."

"You're the one leaving me behind!" I yelled in his face.

"Stop leaving me behind. You're leaving me here to die. To fate away. Stop leaving me behind. Stop forgetting I exist." He whispered fast.

"I'm not!" I yelled.

"Find me!" He pushed me and I felt to the ground. I was outside when I landed in the cold and damp leaves. I was sitting outside the lake house, there were no lights on. Chase stood before me still, "Find me." he whispered and gave me another soft, tender, loving kiss. "Why won't you FUCKING FIND ME?" He yelled and shoved me away.

I was on the verge of tears when he called me a bitch again. I started sceaming at him, telling him how much I hated him, hated his guts, hated his kisses, hated how I loved him so dearly.

I woke up, my breath was the loudest I've ever heard. My blankets were on the other side of Chase's room. He wasn't here. I looked at the note again. I couldn't think straight.

He had told me to run away with him; he left before I could even chose what I wanted. How long has it been? I can't even remember. He wants me to be there with him. I looked out the window just to see my back yard. I got dressed and grabbed my mother's keys. He needs me to find him.

I rubbed my eyes hard and turned on her smart-car. I drove down the road as fast as I could. I had pulled over when I got to the driveway.

The clock said 4:48am. I checked her keys to make sure the lake house key was there, it had a small picture of a beach on it, specially made for her. I put the car in drive and drove up to the house. There was a single light on, the outside light. I went to the front door, using the key and having to punch in the code. I looked around me, but couldn't see much. Everything was blue with the emerging sun. Two more hours before the first yellow hit the sky.

The door swung open. "Hello?" I called out. "Chase?" I was breathing heavy. I didn't know what to expect, would Chase even be here? Was I crazy? Did his letter actually mean anything?

I flicked on the first set of lights that led to the living area. The house was warm, and I knew someone had turned the heat up. He was here, he had to be. "Chase?" I yelled out again. I flicked on the hallway lights, then the staircase lights. I didn't have any intention to go upstairs. But that's where my feet led me.

"Chase?" I hummed. I stopped and heard a light snore. He was here.

I ran the rest of the stairs and to the first bedroom on the right, "Chase?" I mumbled. There he was. I could hardly see his face, but I could tell it was him. The way his body fell while sleeping; here he was. I kneeled beside the bed, his face was on the pillow and his mouth hung open a little.

I put my hand on his face and caressed his cheek lightly. His snoring stopped, and I whispered his name again. He sighed in his sleep and his hand flew to my head; he didn't hit me, just laid his hand on my head. His hand slipped to behind my ear, holding my neck.

"Baby?" He mumbled in his sleep. "I'm cold," he said, eyes closed. He rolled to the other side of the bed and then reached for my shoulders. He pulled me onto the bed, all whilst he slept. He nuzzled his face into my neck as my arms wrapped themselves around him. "I've missed you, Sammy." He kissed my neck and then pulled away. His eyes were half open.

"Hi baby," I whispered to him. He smiled and pulled me to cuddle into him.

"It's about time, you're so stubborn." He smiled still. I rolled my eyes and leaned onto him. This isn't a dream, I had to convince myself of that much.

When I woke again, Chase was laying beside me, eyes open; watching me. He smiled when I saw him. "You're beautiful," He said softly.

"You look like you haven't slept in years," I said and put my hand on his face.

"Last night was the best I've had yet, for the four hours that it last I guess."

"I'm glad you enjoyed it."

"How're things?" He murmured, "school? Parents? How's your mother?" He held my hand tightly in his. He kissed each knuckle.

"Fine," I said.

"How are you, really?"

"I'm fine --"

"Don't lie to me," He said.

"I've been sleeping in your room, I never dream about you. Until the other night. You convinced me to come get you. Out of fear. You yelled at me, screamed and told me off."

"Sweetie," he whispered, "It was a dream."

"How do you know Ivan?" I asked.

"Can we talk about it later?" He whispered to me, inching closer. He pressed his lips to mine.

"We need to talk now, let's get everything off our chest, let's start again. I need you back Chase." I said.

"Ivan is an asshole," He shrugged, "he knows people's weakness and he goes for it."

"How do you know him?"

"He took Carla from me, killed her, got rid of the evidence due to rich parents. He's a ruined kid, he needs to grow up." He mumbled, "Carla is just a missing person. I'm the only one who knows the truth."

"Carla?" I asked.

"Ex." he side-glanced me. "Why do you want to know all this?"

"Just wondering," I said. "Was he after you?"

"Yes," he said, shaking his head in something like disgust. "We have a past. That's all. I left so he couldn't get to me again. I wanted you to run away with me, to save you from hi -- Wait." he sat straight up. "How is he?" He asked causually.

"He's fine, I don't know?"

"How close are you guys?" He didn't lay back down.

"We, well, went on a date. And kissed and he took me to his house and that's all," I said.

"You cheated on me?" He laughed without humor.

"You said you needed a break," I sat up beside him.

"What else did you do to him?" Chase whispered, I could feel the heart break radiating off of him.

"Nothing, just kissing.... I didn't know I was cheating, you said you wanted a break, Chase." I promised and grabbed his hands.

"From the outside world. Maybe if you weren't so god damn stubborn everything would be fucking fine. But no, you had to get to know him. He must have known before coming to the school."

"Why is he after you?" I asked.

"Carla was his." He stared at me, "How was I supposed to know? I asked her out. She said yes. Dumped him the next day. I didn't know him," he said. "He just came after me. He's a pyscho, Sam." He took a deep breath and laid back down, pulling me with him. He touched my lips, "and for the record, these are mine." he said and kissed them. "When was your date?

"Two nights ago... And we hung out at his house last night," I whispered.

He closed his eyes tight, "I'm so lucky to have you here. So lucky you got here on time. Two more days, baby, you could've been dead." He kissed my forehead and held me as tight as he could.

"What do we do?"

"Nothing, wait. Live here." He said with a tight smile.

"Let's not think about it, okay? We can just lay here, together, right?"

"Depends," he whispered. "How important is school for  you?" He whispered in my ear.

"Not nearly as important as seeing you again," I kissed him.

"Sam," he leaned his forehead on mine. "I've been working every day," He whispered, "I would love to lay here forever with you," he smiled, "but I have a job, my love."

"What? What're you doing?"

"The people who live down the road, they have me over every day, running around getting food, cleaning, doing yard work, I'm like a maid." he laughed lightly.

"Well, I want to stay here," I said.

"I need money," He said, "Something important," he kissed my forehead. "Do you wish to join me in the shower?" He asked softly.
