Sarah's pov
We were still in the abandoned streets of LA.Waiting for Warren and Vasquez to give us a signal,and hopefully things will turn out perfectly fine.
"What is taking so long"Murphy asked
"I hope it's not another top secret underground lab.The last elevator made me nauseous"Doc said
"Whatever It is I wanna get it over with"Murphy whined as he put on his hat
"Hey Murphy,promise me something"I said as I pulled him to the side
He looked down at me with his normal confused bitch face but a hint of what looked like being a decent person
"What"He asked
"If things go wrong,promise me you won't do anything drastic.Youll stick to the plan,to us"I said,I couldn't get the feeling that something was gonna go wrong away
"Yeah,ill try"He nodded once he seen the worry on my face
"Here she comes"10k called and I patted Murphy on the shoulder before walking down the hill with 10k by my side
As we walked in,I noticed it was just a regular old bar type restaurant
"So this a working restaurant"Doc asked
"Well except for black summer,we've been in continuous operation since 1967.We've had a limited menu at times but where you folks from"A lady asked
"New York"I answered
"Wow didn't know anyone who could still be from New York"She said
"Upstate.The cities gone 100% Z"Warren said
"Long drive.What was it like out there"She asked
"Nothing But Z's And those soon to become Z's"Doc said
"Wasn't there anybody safe?Anywhere"She asked
"There is.Few and far between"Warren answered
"So what does bring you to California"She asked.Man this lady had to many questions.But just as Warren was about to answer a car pulls up
"Bounty hunters"Vasquez called.I seen Murphy pull up his scarf just as they came in and sat down
"Can I get you boys some tea"The lady asked
"You got any brown liquor"One asked
"I think I can squeeze some out of the still"She said
"Are you Auntie"Another asked before she could fully turn away
"I am"She said
"Heard you're the person to talk about the Murphy"Just then I noticed they had a Z bagged and chained
"We're here for the bounty"He said and another one took off the sack from the Z's head
"Another round for my men,this time make it the clear one"The leader called then turned to us
"We're celebrating over here,how bout I buy you a drink"He asked Warren
"No thanks,already got one"She said and then he got up
"Well if you won't drink with me,you won't mind if I come over here and drink with you"He said and I wanted to break my glass over this dudes head
"Relax fellas I'll buy you a drink too"He said
"I don't Think you heard her but we have our own"I said
"Well don't you look like a lady who can drink.Drinks for everyone"He called and his group stood up and made their way over us along with Auntie
I noticed one of the men looking at the Murphy with an odd look.So I stepped in.
"Sorry Auntie But grandma doesn't drink"I said and she nodded before scurrying off
"Auntie this place could use some music"The leader said Just then music came on
"Aren't you a shy one"The guy said to Murphy but Murphy just brushed him off.And then he grabbed Murphy's arm
"Hey my grandma said no.And no means no"I said and put my pistol on the table
Just then the leader came around to us and looked between me,Murphy and the Z
"Hey shy girl,think fast"He said as he threw a vase at him which Murphy caught but resulted in the Z doing the same motions.
And just like that everyone has their guns out pointing it to people's heads.My two guns pointed to the guy hitting on Murphy and the leader
"Now that's interesting.Shy girl moves my Murphy moves the same way.Like they're connected or something.Its interesting,take off the hat"He said and after a few seconds he did
"God,that's real life like.You wouldn't be hiding any bites under that dress would you"He asked
"Take off the dress"He said but Murphy took off his sunglasses and then did his zombie mojo and had the Z bite the guy
Just then bullets went off mostly from us,I short the guy that was hitting on Murphy and that being the last of them
"That'll be enough of that.Put down your weapons"Auntie said holding a grenade launcher and we put our guns down
"Your name Murphy"She asked and Murphy mumbled a 'Yeah'.But Just then a small moan came from behind the stool,I looked around and realized 10k wasn't standing
"10k"I said and rushed over to him and realized there was blood seeping through his clothes
"I've been shot"He said
"Doc"I All but yelled and soon everyone was around us
"Baby don't move,Doc's gonna help"I said as I helped Doc stop the bleeding
"Help me move him onto the bar"Doc said and with Vasquez we put him on the bar
"He's losing a lot of blood Doc"I said starting to panic
"There's a submarine on its way"Warren said as she made her way back in
"Maybe the sub will have a surgeon,bound to have a sick bay"Doc said
"You're gonna be just fine,I know you are"I said as I squeezed the hand I was holding and pushed the hair out of his face
"They're here,Doc and Sarah you stay with 10k,Vasquez and Addy cover us"Warren said and Auntie reminded they have a nuclear submarine
"We're gonna get you help a-and you'll be as good as new.The after this is all over we'll go somewhere,anywhere you want ok"I asked my voice cracked and he nodded
I didn't pay much attention when the captain came in.Just when I heard 'Ship Doctor' ,I immediately looked
"Let me take a look at him"He said as he made his way over to us
"Can you help him"I asked as he looked at his wound
"It didn't puncture anything major,and there's a lot of blood loss but yes I can help"He said and I nodded
"We need to get him to the submarine"The doctor said and we nodded as Doc and the Doctor helped him down and outside with me close behind
They lifted him onto a makeshift gurney and onto a back of the quad
"Babe they'll take good care of you,they got a real Doctor and they'll help you"I said
"I need to go with him"I said but the doctor stopped me
"Miss we barely have any room for two people,you need to stay behind"He said and I shook my head as tears came through and looked to see Doc giving Murphy his goodbye
I stepped forward,in between Doc and Murphy and gripped onto Murphy with everything I had left
"Murphy please,if you care at least a little,You'll make sure 10k makes it.Please.Hes all I have left"I begged as a tear slipped my eye
He slowly nodded and I crushed him in a hug and he slowly hugged me back
"Ew Let's never do that again"I said and he laughed but nodded as I rushed back to 10k
"They're leaving now okay.I want you to know I love you okay,and everything's is gonna be fine"I said and he nodded as I kissed his forehead
"I love you too"He whispered and I nodded as a tear slipped and he slowly wiped it
"I know Tommy"I said and then they drove off.
Addy was by my side immediately and pulled me into a bone crushing hug along with Doc
"So that's it"Vasquez said
"I hope the kid is gonna be okay"Doc said
"He will"Warren said
"Cmon lets get those bodies of there"She said
Just as I was helping Doc with the fake Murphy a bullets went straight between its eyes.And we all took cover as automatic gunfire came.Then we heard it,the familiar voice calling to Warren.
"I can't even get even get a clean shot"I called Just then Auntie came out with a gun too blasting the Zeros
"Everyone inside"Warren yelled as we all booked it inside
"Ammo who's got what"Warren asked
"I'm good"I said.I needed to be strong,even though it was impossible 1ok needed to be in the back of my mind
"With our range,this cover won't do us much good"Vasquez said
"Well if you just asked nicely"Auntie trailed off as she pulled a beer lever and weapons came out
"Well I'll be damned Auntie"I said
"Well I'm a little low on ammo but I think we can give them hell in the meantime"She said as we all got some weapons
"The fact that they haven't beaten down the doors worries me a lot more then them shooting at us"Warren said as I made sure my automatic gun was loaded
"Warren I want Murphy.You give Murphy to me we can still be friends"La Reina called to us
"To late chica,he's gone"She yelled back
"Donde esta Murfi"She said and Vasquez took a shot but missed
Just when I thought these people couldn't get anymore crazier,they grabbed machetes and stabbed the person in front of them using them as a shield
As they moved closer and closer we used the opportunity to start taking shots.The cracks of the windows making it hard for us to actually shoot them.
After mostly all of them were gone there were at least two shooting at Doc and Vasquez and then I realized it was just a distraction for La Reina's right hand to get in.Warren had no more bullets So Addy stepped in with her Z whacker,hit after hit her whacker hit the guys staff but eventually it broke
"Addy"I called once I noticed she was on the floor.I ran up to the guy and punched him in the jaw,that's when Addy took the chance to use the broken end of the Z whacker to stab him and then I shot him in the head
"Hey you good"I asked as I picked her up
"Yeah But He didn't make it"She said holding up her end of the bat
"Let's go find Warren"She said as we rushed over to her with Vasquez and Doc and that's when we noticed someone familiar
Vasquez immediately knocked him to the ground with his gun
"He saved my life"Warren said
"I don't care"Vasquez said
"Well ding dong the bitch is dead"Doc said and then we noticed La Reina dead on the floor
"You killed your queen.Why"Addy asked
"She's not my queen.Not since she got that cooked batch of Kurian's vaccine.I followed them here through all their death and destruction.They weren't human anymore"He said and then turned to Vasquez who was still holding the gun to his head
"I won't rob you if your revenge.Escorpion deserves to die for what he did to you.What I did to your family.If you want to kill me,you go right ahead.Ive been a one man apocalypse all my life.I know it don't mean shit,but I apologize.The man who killed who killed your family is dead"
"Do what you have to.But who are you gonna be after you pull the trigger"Warren said and we walked outside.But then we heard the gunshot and Esco-Hector came out
"What happened"Warren asked and Hector nodded inside
"So what you think is gonna happen now"I asked
"I don't know kid.I don't know"Doc said
"How do you think 10k is"I asked
"I think he's doing fine"Addy said and wrapped an arm around me.Just then Warren came out
"What happened.Is he alive"Doc asked
"He's alive"She said and picked up one of the Zeros guns
"What now chief"Doc asked
"I don't know I'm not in charge anymore"She said and walked off.We quickly made sure our guns were loaded before chasing after her
Just as we were walking down a patch a car pulled up next to us.
"Need a ride"Hector asked, "Got enough foot,ammo,Z weed for a month"
"I'm in"Doc said as he hopped in the car
"Me too"I said and got in.After a couple seconds Warren and Addy did too
"We're only going as far as the beach"Warren said
As we hit the land before the beach,he stopped the car and we all got out and walked closer to the shore line
"Hate to admit it but I kinda miss Murphy"Doc said
"Yeah I kinda miss everyone too"I said but as we got closer we seen fire above the water and something that looked the submarine
"That's doesn't look good"Warren said pulling out her binoculars and I got worried
"Warren what do you"I asked frantically
"Is it submerging"Doc asked
"No.Its sinking"Warren said
"What.No no no no"I said as I started pacing
"Is that a boat"Addy asked
"It's Murphy.He has Doctor Merch and the Sub captain"She said
"What about 10k"I asked just then the submarine blew up
"Doc tell me 10k is on that boat.Tell me he's alive"I asked voice cracking
"I don't see him"He said and that when the tears came.Addy held onto my body as my knees seemed to go weak
"Hey look"Hector said and we looked up to see jets
"Those don't look American"Doc said
"They're not"Warren said.Just then men in Different country outfits came over the hill with guns pointed at us
"What do we do"Doc asked
"What do you think"Warren said
And it seemed the beginning to something even worse was just getting started
