{Madeline's POV}
Ryker and I sat in a meeting with some of the other alphas at Mason's house. Something had happened with Jackson and he was sharing it with us.
I had zoned out for the most part as I couldn't help but see my mark on Ryker peeking out a little from the collar of his suit.
I eventually reeled myself back into the conversation
"Ill send you over my reports that my beta wrote up." Jackson said and Mason nodded and him and we were about to dismiss when the door burst open and a girl stood stood wide-eyed breathing heavily.
"O-Octavia-pain." She got out holding her side. Mason's eyes widened and he was out the door in a flash with us trailed quickly behind him.
"What's wrong?" He asked reaching her.
"Pain. Everywhere." She growled out and I watched as her eyes tried shifting from their original color to red and back to the color.
Was she trying to shift?
"What's happening?" I heard Ryker ask as he walked up shrugging off his jacket to his suit.
"I- I don't know." Mason answered with an unsteady voice and Jackson walked up.
"She's fighting a partial shift." He said looking her over.
"Her eye color is shifting to a blood red. For lycan. The kid is controlling her shifting and she's fighting it. Think of it as a virus and our blood cells working against it to fight it. Her body is treating her kid like a virus." He added and our eyes widened.
"Madeline!" Ryker called and I quickly looked over to him.
"Yes?"
"Do your thing." He said and I looked to Octavia nervously and nodded.
"Im just going to place my hand on your stomach okay?" Octavia reluctantly nodded and instantly relaxed after I placed my hand there.
I leaned in next to Octavia and was whispering sweet nothings.
"You're okay. You're both okay. Calm down. Stop fighting. You're stronger than that. Rest and fall asleep." I whispered in a melodic voice
"What is she doing?" I heard Mason ask Ryker and I tuned them out as Ryker explained my abilities focusing on Octavia.
Her breathing slowed and I slowly pulled my hands away feeling the child settle also. I can't believe she's pregnant. It feels that I just saw her not too long ago.
"She'll sleep for a few hours." I said softly and when I faced them Mason stared at me intensely.
Ryker wrapped his arm around me, bringing me to his side.
"If you ever need us, please let me know. We'll be here in a heart beat. Madeline can obviously help with her pain." I nodded quickly agreeing.
"I'd love to her help. I know if that was me, I'd want someone to help me." I added.
Jackson took a seat in the kitchen and look like he was thinking things over.
"What aren't you telling me?" Mason asked and he looked from Octavia to him with a knowing look.
"Your kids full Lycan." He answered and my eyes widened. I thought that was only a myth?
"How do you know?" He asked.
"Trust me... I know." He said hesitantly and looked back at Octavia warily.
"Mason, can I speak to you alone?" He asked standing.
As the two left we all moved Octavia to be situated more comfortably.
"Madeline and I have some business to attend to, so please do update us on her condition." Ryker said and I furrowed my brows, business? What business?
"Come, gattina." He said holding his hand out and I warily took it.

"Plans?" I asked as we made our way to his car.
"My mother and father are coming in, and they want to meet you and have dinner." He said and my eyes widened.
"Wait... coming in? Do they not live in the pack?" He shook his head and opened the door for me and I slid in as he followed.
The driver took off once he spoke.
"Once my father was done, they moved back to Italy." He said and my heart beat sped up.
"What if they don't like me?" I asked.
"They're going to love you, but I have to get home an prepare a dinner that has to be absolutely perfect and you're helping me." He grinned.
"Oh goddess no! Ill just mess it up!"
"It's a tradition and if everything is not perfect my mother will beat me over the head with her wooden spoon, so it will be perfect. You'll be fine as long as you follow my instructions."
"What are we cooking?" I asked and he smirked.
"The best ravioli you'll ever put in your mouth. It's our grandmother's famous recipe from scratch. It's my mother's favorite dish." He said and I slowly nodded.
Yep, I'm going to throw up. This is going to be a disaster.

"Ryker!" I shrieked as he got flour in my hair.
"I told you to move!" He defended as he quickly started mixing a sauce together.
"You could warn someone before you just throw flour on the counter!" I countered.
He was not in the mood for my whining as he hummed in response and continued mixing the sauce. I knew this would be a disaster.
"Maybe you should just do this yourself. I already messed up the sauce the first time." I said and cringed at how I somehow put salt instead of pepper, they were in the same container and didn't know what the little holes on the top meant, okay?
"No, you're helping. Lavoro!" He said placing some ingredients in front of me and I stared at him with an unreadable expression.
"I don't know what you said." I said quickly.
"Work!" He said louder as he dashed around frantically placing things here and there. Goddess, if an Italian mom gets her own son this worked up, imagine what she's like in person.
"What the hell?" I heard a familiar voice and I turned and let out a cry of joy.
"Raven! Please take my spot in cooking! I know nothing and he keeps yelling at me in Italian!" I cried out walking to her and she chuckled shaking her head.
"Im invited for dinner with family and here I am cooking it." She mumbled walking to Ryker who shot her a quick smile before turning to continue what ever the hell he was doing. Making noodles it looked like.
"Cosa stai facendo?" (What are you making) She asked and my mouth dropped, of course she knew Italian too!
"Grannies ravioli." He responded and she 'ahh'd and nodded.
"Mom's favorite. This is a hard one." She said grabbing tomatoes and I sighed.
"I got this, Mads. Go get cleaned up, they'll be here soon." She said and my eyes widened as I dashed for our room.
