A girl, dark in skin tone

Stands alone.

When she speaks, Her words fly out, like the beat of a drum

Her voice a melodious thrum

Her words so grammatically correct

Most her colour think of it as a defect

And she's left in neglect

For she is not normal

She is freakish

Unexplainably abnormal

She perseveres

Forgets her ''weakness'

Her reason for being who she is unclear

Her fears following close behind

She gives up

Her peers were unkind

Her head was about to blowup

Her heart no longer hers, but yours

To you, her heart she bared

But you did not care

And when she was gone

Her words lived on

As rhythmic as the beat of a drum

Her voice still a melodious thrum.
