It was my first week of high school... I was nervous and scared. I had two friends, Tony and Sam. They were really loud and embarrassing, but they were my only friends. Sam and I have know each other since 5th grade and we used to be really close. I met tony at my school's orientation the Monday before school started. Tony and Sam are okay, when they're not together. Put the two together and they're basically psychos.
By the second week of school, I felt more social and comfortable in my new environment. Then I met this boy, looking for a date to homecoming. His name is Robert. Had I known this name would forever ruin my life, I never would have talked to him.
I knew the moment I met him, it was too good to be true. What would a tall, athletic, attractive blonde want to do with a short, chubby, depressed girl like me? The answer is nothing good.
We talked for a bit, then he lead me to the bench outside, between B and C-hall. He kept touching my cold hands, but I honestly didn't feel cold at all. I was so nervous next to him, I kept fumbling over my words and anxiously tapping my feet. He's not much of a talker either, but actions speak louder than words. He held my hand, looked me in the eye, and I will never forget what he said next... "Will you be my girlfriend?" He quietly asked. I of course nodded my head and said yes.
Why in the world would I, the ugly, insecure fat girl, say no to that? I obviously forgot the part where we only knew each other for about an hour. That's how it goes when you're self conscious and lonely... anyone who shows the smallest amount of attraction to you, you quickly develop strong feelings for them. That is exactly what happened to me.
Robert kissed me and cuddled next to me after that until the bell rang for school to start. I walked to my art class as happy as can be, while he walked to his health class.
I finally got what I deserved, the perfect guy. Now I had something to look forward to going to school for.
