marinette's pov:
i heard Mr.Adler and glinda talking in the other room,i couldn't really make out the words they were saying,it was vague,i was still on the couch,i tried to sit,i felt a sudden pain in my stomach,i touched it slightly,why does it hurt so bad ?
the surprising thing was when i coughed,i felt some liquid im my mouth,i touched my lips only to see blood

Mr.Adler came in the room and sat on the armchair besides me,his expression softens
"how are you feeling ?"
"worse than before,whenever I try to move,i feel pain especially in my stomach"
"yeah,glinda told me it's normal since there is massive bleeding in your intestines,that will eventually lead to organ failure"he said looking away for a moment than looking back
"um..."i said getting a bit frightened
"sorry didn't mean to scare you"he admits
"it's okay..i guess"
"so,what exactly happened ? all i know is when i came i saw you in pain in the guests room,other than that,it's nothing"he questions
"well,it was in the middle of the night,when suddenly i felt myself getting injected by someone,after that i started to feel sharp pain"i explained
"do you know how he looks like ?"
"nope,he was wearing a mask"i paused trying to remember"however,if i recall correctly he was wearing this ring,it was strange looking"
"how ?"
"i can't really remember the details,sorry"i admit
"it's okay"
"how does ricin works anyway ?"i ask curiosity taking over me,i want to know what its doing,this freaking poison that is in my body,i wasn't paying attention when adrien's mom explained
"ricin first works by getting inside the cells of a person's body then prevents them from making the protein they need,of course without protein,cells die,eventually this is harmful for the whole body"
"That's horrific,where is glinda by the way?"i asked looking around trying not to move much
"she said she was going somewhere"he says straight away
"but i didn't hea---"
"That's because the poison slightly effected your hearing"
hearing him say all of this deadly symptoms caused by ricin made me feel kind of desperate,is this going to be the end of me ? i still want to live,i never imagined that one day i would die in this miserable slowly suffering way
"am i going to die ?"i started to tear up,tears started to fall
"of course not,you're going to be ok,you hear me"he reaches out and comes besides me and hugs me"everything is going to be ok"
"what if--"
"don't worry,just relax and clear your mind,okay?"
i nod
he sat beside me,gently stroking my hair,it felt nice,somehow his tenderness reminded me of adrien,i guess it's true when they say like father like son,he stayed with me until sleep took over me

adrien's pov:
i kept looking everywhere all day,and still nothing,i hope mari is okay,i should probably dad,since she left it behind
it rang for a bit until he picked up"adrien !hey,any progress ?"
"no,unfortunately but I'm still looking,i just wanted to check on mari,how is she ?"i asked worried
"she's doing okay,she's been asleep in the last hour,don't worry she's resting"he pauses"just find the herb and come back,will you"
"i will,bye"i hang up and kept searching through the forest
hours later,still no hint seeing the herb,i look up at the sky to see that it's night already,i didn't notice,at the end of the day,it's all worth it cuz it's for mari
i headed back to the witche's house to find mari still laying on the couch sleeping
i caress her cheek she doesn't deserve any of this pain,i guess this is all my fault,coming here was a mistake if only we stayed there this wouldn't have happened,I'm such a bad boyfriend,just the scene of her in pain makes me feel regret overwhelming me
i felt someone's presence behind me
"welcome back,son"dad said as i turned around
"yeah,I'm back,and yes I'm still searching if that's what you're about to ask"
"adrien,i know it's difficult but you have to know that the cure is not 100% safe,it can have side effects"
"i don't care,as long as she's okay and if something happens we'll figure it out,there is always a way"
"i know adrien,we're going to do everything we can to help her,don't worry,now come,let's talk in another room so that we don't wake her up,it's been a long day for all of us"
i follow him to the room besides the living room,closing the door behind me,it was a huge bedroom with 2 beds,a fireplace in front of a couch
"so,we're staying here tonight ?"i said looking around the room
"yeah,and your mother went back home but she'll be back in the morning,plus we can't risk anything,glinda might be a friend but still she's not trustworthy"he sat on couch in front of the fireplace
"if that's the case,then why her ? why did we came here ?"i question him as i lean at the edge of the fireplace
"because she's the only witch i know,even though in the past she did some horrible things to me but she
was our only hope so let's just go along with it for now then we leave"
"you were thinking about my sake,ignoring you're hatred for her for years just for my sake,thanks dad"i went besides him and hugged him
"every parent will do anything for his children's happiness even if it means sacrificing something in exchange"

i left the house early with no one's noticing me leaving,i went back to the woods,this time I'll be searching in different places,maybe it'll turn out to be hidden in some place,it has to be
one hour left,i can do this,i kept checking every plant,one by one until i reach this weird looking little house,i went inside and continued my search,it was dusty there was no furniture around just 2 rooms with some plants growing and each room has a small window that lets the sun peek inside,only to find the one and only
lavender
laying behind a rock,i pick it up and look at it happy,finally with this i can help mari,i will be able to see her regain her health being the hyped mari again
i immediately went back to the witche's house,to find them all there,in the living room,mari is awake,she looked tired and pale,dad was sitting on the armchair and mom was standing besides him while glinda was behind the kitchen counter
i headed towards glinda and handed her the herb,a smile crossed her face only seconds later it turns to an evil smirk
"this is just pathetic,you know that"she said looking at each one of us
"what are you talking about ? i gave you the thing you wanted,now give me the cure"i said stepping closer to her
"the thing is,that we witches help each other out,and this herb will help my friend not your dying girlfriend,because admit it,anyone will do anything to their loved ones"
"and that means betraying my dad and letting mari die in front of me,how could you be this cruel ?"i grabbed by the coller of her shirt
but soon my parents held me back and wouldn't let go
"what are you doing ? let me go,she's letting mari die"
they stayed silent,they just kept looking at me,i glanced at mari,to see her leaning her back on the couch
"what did you do to them ?"
"just a little spell,it will wear off within minutes wich is enough time for me to escape,and yes I'm this cruel because that's how things work"she said a smirk on her face
"you can't do this"i try to resist
"oh believe me i can and i can more"she pauses"just let me get my bag"
this is my chance,i shoke my parent's grip over me and used my super speed and ripped her heart from her back,she turned around with a shocked expression on her face
"you shall be in hell"i aggressively throw her her heart in the trash while her body slams to the floor blood pouring out
mom and dad went back to normal,i went besides mari to see her face became more pale,she's cold her eyes half closed,i hold her head carefully as my parents come besides me
she looked at me"I'm cold"she simply says as she holds my hand
which made it more hard for me to hold my tears back
"it's okay,i got you"i take off my jacket and cover her up
"thanks"a smile crossed her face
"you know,i can't lose you,i can't live with the fact of you gone,just thinking about it makes me have the chills,not feeling your presence besides me makes me feel lost and empty"
"you're not going to lose me,I'm right here"she reaches for my cheek and hold it tightly,
deep down,both of us knows that's a lie,my vision starts to blur while tears starts to fall
"please don't cry,you're going to make me cry too"she wipes a drop and says"even if I'm gone,i want you to be strong for me,okay ?"she starts to cry too
"i will"i look at mom to see her crying on dad's shoulder
for the next few seconds i kept hold of mari until she finally closed her eyes,a tear escapes from her eye while her hand fell
"noooo"i say as i tighten my hug around her
i can't live without her,no way in hell,i bite her in the neck,i bite my wrist blood starts to pour out drip by drip,i bring my wrist towards her mouth for her to drink
"come on,drink,you have to live"still no reaction at all
she's gone !
