I watched in awe as the man in front of me tipped his head back as he let the small, white pill drop into his mouth before washing it down with the bottle of beer he had been gripping in his other hand. He had done it so casually as if he had been taking painkiller. My eyes were still focused on him as he lifted his head back up, his lips curling into a smug smirk. "Lea," He spoke, his voice smooth as my name rolled off his tongue.
"Lea." He repeated, his smirk broadening once he caught me staring. My cheeks flushed in return.
"Uh, yeah?" He didn't reply after that, he simply lifted one of his inked hands and opened his hand up, only to reveal another small pill. "Is that for me?" Even though I really wanted him to say that it was for him, there was a slight flicker of hope that it was for me.
"Yeah, it's for you." He answered, I couldn't tell if I was relieved or not. I shyly took the pill into my own hands and gave him a small smile.
"Thanks..So do I do what you just did or-"
"Do exactly what I just did, babe." I could feel my cheeks flaring up again at that nickname.
I took a deep breath in, which was only greeted by an eye roll and a "Hurry up." Which I ignored. I closed my eyes and tipped my head back, letting the tiny pill fall onto my tongue before quickly swallowing it. I cringed at the bitter taste and downed the drink in front of me.
"That tasted horrible, like disgusting. " I said as I wiped my mouth with the back of my hand, suddenly aware of the music blasting around us as we sat at the bar.
"You get used to it. Now come on, your body won't let you sit about and whinge all night." He grabbed my hand and dragged me out onto the dance floor. The loud music blared into my ears as I felt the beat pump, my body starting to move along with it.
I couldn't contain the smile on my face as my body moved, the sweaty people jumping around me were the last thing on my mind as I danced. I felt so alive, like my body was glowing neon colours. I felt it, my body felt it, my mind felt it. And I loved it
