I awoke the next morning bright and early for school. I had this consistent sharp pain in my abdomen but I shrugged it off figuring they were just cramps and I should be on my menstrual soon. I took some IB Profen and then headed to my bathroom.

I stared at myself in the mirror. That spa made me feel a whole lot better. My hazel eyes shined very brightly giving me an intense gaze. My eye brows were arched making my expressions look more delightful. My full lips made me look even more adorable when i pouted and my cute button nose to remind me of my dad. My long curly hair was in a messy bun at the top of my head. I figure I should straighten it after I get out the shower or else it's just gonna curl right back up from the steam of the hot water.

I lifted my tank top and exposed my stomach. It had already dropped to flat. I was amazed yet saddened by this emptiness. If Jason was here, he would have helped me raised the baby and we would be happy after graduation. But he's not here so no need for wishing and hoping.

I looked at the clock and it said 5:00. I wanted to go for a run before I showered. I didn't have to be at school until 8:00. I threw on my shorts and grabbed my iPod. I reached under the bed and grabbed my phone because somehow through the night it never stays on my bed. I grabbed my Nike's from under there too and threw them on as well.

I headed downstairs and saw mom and dad sitting in the living room watching the news. I was nervous after remembering what mom said yesterday but it looks as though dad isn't aware of what happened and mom hasn't told him. I gave a quick goodmorning and told them I was going for a run around the neighborhood.

"Becareful sweetie. It's still a little dark outside and be aware of your surroundings. Do you have your phone for emergencies? " Dad asked glaring at me.

"Dad I'm seventeen. I've been out running almost every morning since I was fifteen. I always bring my phone and I think you're the one who needs to be aware of your surroundings." I stated matter-of-factly.

I ran out of the door and threw my headphones in my ear. I clicked on my playlist titled morning work out and listened to the various songs that filled my head. I jogged down the familiar 2 mile trail that I always went around 2 times. I gazed at the beautiful houses that all looked somehow similar to each other yet all these families are so different.

On my second lap of this 2 mile course, I bent down noticing my shoelace came untied. I began tying them when I noticed a flash of black dart across the street 5 feet in front of me. I was startled and fell back, flat on my behind. I brushed my bangs back behind my ear, stood up, and looked around where I was. I took out one ear bud and listened but I didn't hear any type of noise that could possibly come from an animal besides the crickets chirping. I shrugged and began to keep jogging when I saw a shadow emerge from behind me. I instantly turned around and started kicking and punching whoever it was trying to grab me. I knew mixed martial arts and was not afraid to fight a man.

"Please stop girl I'm sorry I scared you. I just moved here from Texas. My mom and my little brother as well. My name is Christian. " The guy flashed a beautiful smile showing two rows of pearly white perfect teeth. I looked up and met his gaze, still angered that he was following me. I noticed his icy blue eyes which were intensifying. He was handsome indeed. About 6'3 with a great build. He was hot!

I still didn't want him to see that I was check-in him out so I just nodded and stared him down.

"So. You gonna tell me your name?" He asked hopefully.

I turned on my heels and kept jogging. Does he really think I want to be friends with him after he seemed like a creep. I heard footsteps behind me and then noticed we were side by side. I increased my speed until I got to my house. I was surprised he kept up with me with great breathing patterns. This guy was definitely athletic.

I began walking up the pathway to my steps and used my keys to open the door. I turned around and noticed him watching and waiting. "By the way. My name's Alyssa. Try not to stalk me now that you know where I stay."

I turned back around and entered my house. I ran past my parents and into my bathroom to take a shower. I looked at the clock and it was 6:00. I quickly showered and straightened my hair to wear it down. I curled my lashes more and added my Mac lip gloss. I then headed to my walk in closet and settled with a plaid button up shirt with a pair of ripped jeans and some wedge sandals. I looked myself over, satisfied with my look and added my Tiffany charm bracelet, earrings, and necklace I bought over the weekend at work. I also put my sapphire diamond ring back on that Jason had bought me. I really miss him. I can't believe he hasn't written me back in 3 months. I threw him towards the back of my mind and thought about this new guy Christian. I was so rude but in order to not be taken advantage of, sometimes you gotta play hard to get. He was hot though. I hope I see him around. He said he just moved here so his house couldn't be that far if he jogged here.

I began wondering if I should keep saying I have a boyfriend or not. I wonder if Jason is still thinking about me. Am I still a part of his heart or am I just forgotten about and left in the past. I know this is a question Christian will ask soon and I needed to be prepared. I should just play it safe and say yes I have a boyfriend but he's in the army and only comes back when he can and sends letters often.

I headed downstairs after I finished getting ready for school and met my parents sitting with breakfast placed on the table. I sat down next to mom and began digging in. I love waffles. She had cooked waffles, bacon, eggs, and poured me apple juice while they had orange juice. They loved orange juice with pulp and I hated it but I always drank apple juice. I would choose that over any other drink. I was enjoying my meal when Dad messed it up.

"Did you guys enjoy wasting my bonus money at the spa yesterday? Did you guys think I wasn't going to look at the bank statements. I told you guys you can only go 3 times a month and get a full spa treatment like you guys did yesterday. This is your fifth time going to the spa in the last 6 weeks though Hailey." He said glaring at my mom.

My mom had a beautiful name. Hailey Blue McNeil. I received her middle name as my middle name. I looked up from my plate and noticed the way mom tensed up when dad called her Hailey. He most always calls her Hales but you could tell he was upset. I finished my food and stood up.

"I have to go. Sorry I'm not sitting here to listen to this conversation. Have a great day and see you guys later." I rose up from my seat, cleared my eating section and grabbed my bottle of apple juice from the refrigerator that mom always kept cold for me.

I went upstairs made sure everything was off and unplugged in my room, grabbed my purse, backpack, phone, keys, and the gift I bought my best friend Samantha for her birthday today. I know I had to stop at Jewels and grab the cake and ice cream we were having as well so I hurried up and left.

Samantha has been my best friend so since 7th grade. We told each other everything and anything. She lives on the other side of the school. Her family and mine are very close because my dad and her dad are business partners. Today, September 15th is her birthday. She will be 18 and she's hoping she can get engaged to her long term boyfriend Paul. They've been together since freshman year. I wish Jason and I could have still been like them.

I left out the door and went to my car parked in the driveway. I was putting everything in the backseat when I heard a hoot. I turn around and see Christian standing by the bus stop staring me down. "What's wrong bus boy? Mommy didn't buy you a car yet?" I teased knowing it was mean.

"Actually it's in the shop by that Jewels on Elm St." He stated matter-of-factly.

Its funny. I was heading to that Jewels on Elm St. I guess I could be nice. I'm in a good mood today."Well you're in luck buddy I'm headed to that Jewels right now to grab a few things. You want a ride?" I asked kind of hoping he would accept my offer. I wanted to know more about him.

He hesitated "Ummm. Sure. I'll join you. Thanks." He walked across the driveway and got into the passenger seat. He strapped in and waited patiently. I started the car and headed towards Jewels. I had 45min. before I had to be at school so it was okay.

"So why are you up so early?" I asked wondering what he was about to do after he got his ride.

"I start school today. You heard of Gohr Valley College Prep? It's a private high school on Maple Drive. I'm a senior and I need to register and get my classes." He stated looking at me. I usually hated when peopled watched me drive but under his gaze I was kind of comfortable.

"Oh. Cool. I've heard of that place." I said. I wasn't going to let him know I go there. He would just have to find out later on today. I hurried and changed the subject.

"What kind of car do you have?" I asked without interest.

"A Lamborghini." He said proudly.

I smiled. "Cool. What color? Please tell me red."

"Red." He stated laughing. "Why red?"

"My favorite color. Sorry just a habit of wanting everything red."

"But your car is yellow." He said.

"I have a red Lamborghini too and another camaro but it's red. But enough about me. We're here." I said pulling up in Jewels parking lot. I got out, grabbed my purse and locked the doors. He stepped out the car and smiled.

"Thanks for the ride neighbor." He stated and walked to the Jiffy Lube across the street.

Neighbor? This is something I'm going to have to get used to.
