Last day of school, my friends were chilling on the hall when i arrived, they were talking about renting a house near California west coast, just to chill out, together, we were about to graduate and they wanted to have a really great summer, i didn't heard much, because i was admiring Jackie Anderson, she was chatting with his 2 friends Norah and Alexa, it was funny because, i had something with Norah 1 year ago, but Jackie, the girl that i've loved since i entered high school, she was the reason to my loneliness too, I've rejected too many girls because of her, i also end up with Norah because of her, but i thought it was worth it.
So, i know this guy whose dad could rent us a house. Alan said
Yeah dude, who is he? Simon asked
Greg, the guy who did the party last Friday. Alan answered
A party, which we weren't invited. James added
Hey hold on, Greg, the guy with the Porche. Simon asked
Yeah, that dude. Alan full of antipathy answered
No fucking way, i know his dad too, he just rents luxury houses. James answered
Alan: Are you sure? The rental wasn't so expensive
Alan: Hey Thomas! Are you listening?
As i said, i didn't heard a thing, just looking to Jackie, but i couldn't say that to the guys, they could asume I'm a creep, and I'm not. Jeremy Monett came and joined us, he had a lot of money, he could rent the hole house just by his own. They continue talking about renting the house when suddenly the bell rang, it was the last class till we went to summer, we had literature as our last class. I entered the classroom and placed my bag under my chair, Simon and Alan were sat together, I sat at the back of the last row, well, the positive thing in this situation was the beautiful view I had , i could saw the campus lake, oh that lake, i remember when we used to hang there after classes, specially with Johnathan, Jeremy brother, he was way funny, he moved to Canada, he was a really good friend actually I'm happy about he leaved California, he's studying medicine in a really good university. I started thinking about my future, it was my last day of high school, my last hour, my last class, I didn't know were to go after high school, maybe I could do an admission test to go to Harvard, I really didn't knew.
Literature sucked back then, we just talked about how to structure poems and stuff, I really didn't liked it, but Michigan did, she's a really good friend who liked a lot literature, actually, she's so into it, that she could live inside a library, like for real. The teacher said the last words "well guys, good luck in college" those words, were the most pleasant words I had ever heard, we were about to leave high school, what a exciting fact. We all took our stuff and leave the classroom as quick as we could, Simon and Alan went directly to our bunch of friends, I went to my locker instead, I might look like an antipathetical friend, but I really needed to take my stuff from that locker, because I was forced to leave my dorm at 4:30 p.m. and it was 3:34 p.m. already. I went out the hall and took my bike. I was on a exclusive bike road, when suddenly, a girl quickly appeared, I was able to avoid her but anyway I crashed with a garbage bin. I was on the floor, I really didn't felt a thing but I started to check me up just to be sure everything was in place, the girl was really sorry about what just happened, she quickly came to me and said
Oh are you okay?!
Yes, i guess. I answered
I was trying to keep the pain inside because I didn't wanted to worry her, when actually my right leg was hurting.
"This is such a weird way to know each other." She added
"Yes, such a weird way". i answered
"By the way my name's Delilah" She said
"Such a cute name, I'm Thom..." I tried to answered, when suddenly she said
"You're Thomas I know." She answered
"How do you know my name? " I answered surprised
"Oh I saw you in the library, you were the guy with the red sweater" she answered calmly
I was so keen on the topic, but I really had to leave, so I said.
"Hey... Delilah, I've to go, talk later"
"Oh okay Thomas, see ya" she answered a bit sad
She kissed my right cheek and left, I was really confused about what had just happened, she was so weird, but I liked it though. I looked at my right arm, I saw blood coming out of a cut, so I looked inside my backpack to see if I had any type of bandages, I found a little piece of cloth, I placed it above the cut and then secure it with some tape. I put my backpack on my back, got on my bike and started to pedal. I arrived to the dorms, placed my bike in a little space designed to place bikes. I entered the dorms, the hall was completely alone, it had like a weird vibe, the only thing I could see was a depressive hall, light grey walls with a brown rug that covered the concrete floor, I start walking to my room, I really felt weird, till I entered my dorm.
I could see all my dorm from just the main door, a nostalgic feeling came, I could see my desk, full of little "insignificant" things on it, most people could say they're insignificant, but to me, there just taking part of a complete master piece, that box of candy placed on top of my old Spanish text book, a usb driver 3.8 centimeters to the right of my cup of coffee, a cup of coffee, with out coffee. Then I saw my sofa, a wine red sofa completely clean, just with my wood made guitar laying on the right arm of the sofa. i entered my room, threw my backpack under the desk chair and lay on the bed, I rested like for 8 minutes, then I grabbed a box that was hidden in the closet, I put all my "insignificant" stuff inside the box and then placed the box on the floor, then started to put all my clothes and stuff you'll need to survive by your own when living with your friends. I closed the box, grabbed some tape and start completely closing the "insignificant" stuff box. I saw the closet, quickly picked a jacket and put it on, it was a light gray cloth hoodie that suited with my room walls, I picked up my guitar and placed it above the box, then i pulled out the chair of the desk in order to take out my fainted red wine backpack, i took my backpack tiredly (it was a collateral effect of the bike incident, tiredness), sat down on the cleanest sofa in the dorms and start thinking about Delilah, she was such a cute girl, brown hair that suited with her red wine sweater, a light black denim jeans, white Vans and a really attractive face, did I see her in the library? I asked my self, I was trying to remember her face in such a boring place like a library when suddenly someone knocked the door.
I stood up and proceeded to open the door, the door was now opened, no one was standing out side my dorm door, I took a step and got out of my room, I saw a little piece of paper attached to a box of candy, I took the piece of paper, placed inside my pocket and proceed to look at the box of candy. it was a 11 centimeters height and 4 centimeters length small mint candy box. I entered my room again and closed the door, I took the little piece of paper out of my pocket, I unfolded it and read the handwritten text that was on the little piece of a notebook paper.
Letter
Hey Thomas, this could sound a bit weird, but your friend James is flirting with Jackie though, just wanted to say that. Good luck at college.
My phone rang.
Hey, Thomas, we're passing through the dorms at 4:20, be ready! Alan said. I was about to leave my odd bedroom, I was about to rent a house with 4 friends and spend the whole summer living in that house till I went to college.
3:50 I hardly grabbed my box and took it outside my dorm, entered the dorm again, took my guitar and put it inside the cloth suitcase that was under the red sofa, grabbed the string of the suitcase and placed my guitar against the light grey wall in the hall, i saw my backpack leaning over the floor, i didn't pick it up though.
4:06 I laid against the hall wall, I saw the empty hall and then sat down on the brown rug. I did a slightly move with my head in order to place it on top of my knees and just rest.
4:09 I stood up and make my way to my room. I grabbed a leather jacket that was placed on top of my desk chair, I went to the door and threw the leather jacket on top of the insignificant stuff box, then I went back to my, now empty wooden desk, placed the desk chair 60 centimeters away from the desk in order for me to sit on the old, squeaky chair. I opened the window that give light to the odd cold room, a wind breeze hit my face, it was a cold May wind breeze, laid on the squeaky wooden chair and rest again. I was so tired but I had to keep on packaging stuff.
