My head is pounding as I come to. My body feels drained of everything. I lift my head up as I hear footsteps coming closer to me. I let my eyes fall shut and lay on the cold floor listening to the approaching me. No one stops and they walk past my cell. I push my body up and lean up against the wall. I force my eyes open and I look around.
The smell in the air is putrid. It messes with my senses to the point of wanting to run face first into a wall. I look around and notice other people sitting in cells. Most of the people look like they have been here a while.
"Hey." I whisper across the isle to a young girl. She looks up and if I wasn't already sitting against the wall I would have fell back. Her face is so scared up from what looks like whip marks.
"Don't talk they don't like that." She says quietly. I look around and notice most of the people in here look so broken it breaks my spirit.
"The wolfs bane is not allowing you to heal isn't it?" I ask. The girl nods at me. I get up and walk over to the bars or more like dragging my body to the cell front. I grasp the bars and yank back. My skin feels like someone threw fiery coals on my hands. I let out a hiss and withdraw my hands from the balls they formed after contact. I look at my hands and nothing is there. I look at my hands and back at the girl.
"How long have you been here?" I ask. The girl looks up at me through her knotted up hair.
"I lost count after sixty days." She looks down at the marks carved in the floor.
"Why are you here?" I ask. As she opens her mouth to tell me I hear footsteps and I watch as she pretends to be asleep. I follow her and lay back down on the floor letting the wolfs bane start working on me again. Not really fighting the affects it has on my body.
"So this is her?" I hear a man ask.
"Yes. This stupid bitch fucking everything up." I lay rigid in the floor as the voice registers.
"Lady Margo are you sure about this?" The man ask.
"Of course I am sure. Kyle will blame the hunters and burn their homes to the ground allowing us to intervene. I will crawl my way back into his bed and will become queen and then we will take it all. We will rip the crowns from their precious heads and no one will ever know." She laughs. I hear her laugh all the way to the end of the hallway. When the door shuts I open my eyes and look at the girl across from me.
"Your going to save us all." She says as she turns around and faces the wall. She turns one last time and looks at me. "You were sent by the moon goddess."
I close my eyes and try to concentrate on something besides the wolfs bane all over the cell floor and bars. I think of Kyle and his beautiful blue eyes and his crooked that makes me smile without even thinking about it. The way he smiles when I tease him over the simplest things, and the way his eyebrows knit together when he is thinking about something. I think about his smell and the way he looked at me when I told him I loved him for the first time, or the look on his face the first time he seen my mark. The way he told me he loved me. The way he looked at me after we fought.
Kyle if you can hear me please don't blame the hunters. Margo has me in a cell somewhere come find me please. I love you.
