Valkyrie stormed into the hospital ward and burst into Fletcher's room, wild eyed.
"How did this even happen?!?" She exclaimed, staring as a midwife checked Fletcher's dilation.
"Miss, please, do not disturb the mother-to-be," the midwife frowned at her.
Valkyrie glared back and turned to Fletcher, who was lying on a bed wearing a hospital gown. She gaped at him, speechless. Fletcher raised his eyebrows at her.
"Yes?" He asked, matter of factly. "Can I help you with something?"
"You-" Valkyrie stammered, pointing at him. "Y-you're pregnant!"
"Well, yeah," Fletcher said, looking confused. "What's your point?"
"How is that biologically possible?"
Fletcher shrugged.
"I dunno, do I? All I know is that soon enough imma be popping a fetus right out of my never regions," he said casually.
Valkyrie swayed.
"You okay?" Fletcher asked, watching her.
"Think... Think I'm about to faint..." Valkyrie steadied herself. "No, no, I'm fine. Just... I'm so confused!"
"Don't question it, Val, just accept it. Soon I'll be a mother!" Fletcher beamed.
Valkyrie shut her eyes.
"Nope," she said quietly, "I can't- it's too weird."
And she left.
Little did she know, that was the last time she would see Fletcher alive.
