It was gut wrenching to see my crush ask a girl out. Her long, thick hair brushed his cheek as she walked off.
Things were not looking very good.
"Rejection" he muttered, walking off into the distance.
I quickly hurried to catch him, but he reached the boys toilets before I could.
I sighed and sat by a bench near the classroom.
"I'm such an idiot" I whispered "nevermind, she's an idiot" I said with a chuckle.
As he walked from the toilets, I quickly jumped to my feet.
"Look on the bright side" I said "She's missing out, right?"
He looked at me.
"Nah, I guess you're right. Thanks Katie, I can always count on you"
I blushed as he walked away to play touch football with his mates.

Halfway through lunch my best friend, Seva, walked over.
"Hey!" She exclaimed, her face lighting up.
"Seva! Where were you, seriously you missed an important event" I giggled and nudged her shoulder.
"Well, here's the story" she rolled her eyes "Mrs Evans doesn't think it's a good idea to wet the monkey bars and see which little kids can make it over. In the end, they all fall" she laughed, shaking her head and turning to look at the playground.
"So you got detention.." I chuckled.
"Yes Katie. I wouldn't purposely spend 20 minutes with that... that..."
"Don't say it" I urged.
"That rat!" She yelled.
I looked around, noticing the near whole school staring at us.
We laughed.
"Well, what did I miss?" She asked.
I was about to reply when James walked over and faced Seva.
"Seva will you go out with me, I've already been rejected today, don't reject me. Please?" He begged.
My eyes widened in shock.
