Richie and Layla were off to Eddie's, apparently gearing up to explore the sewers. When Bill's little brother Georgie, went missing, they couldn't find his body. Therefore Bill took it upon himself to make a little experiment as to where Georgie would've ended up.

Layla had written a messy note to her father, who hasn't been home much due to the curfew. He was a Sheriff, and worked late nights. Layla's mother died in a car crash when she was a small child.

Layla peddled on her bike, Sammy, to Eddie's place. She could see Bill's bike, who he named Silver, sitting in the front yard. Upon entering the Kaspbrak residence, they headed straight into the kitchen.

Richie opened the pantry, pulling food out.

''Take everything but the delicious deals, guys. My mom loves them.'' Eddie spoke, he was standing in front of his sink. ''Hey, first you said the barrens and now you're saying the sewer. I mean, what if we get caught?''

''We won't Eds,'' Bill reassured. ''The sewers are p-public works. We're the public aren't we?"

Richie opened another cabinets, that held all sorts of different medicines inside. "Hey, Eddie, these your birth control pills?"

''Yeah, I'm saving it for your sister. This is private stuff.'' Eddie retorted.

The gang walked out, but they were stopped by Eddie's mother.

''Eddie-bear,'' She started, painting her nails. "Where you and your friends going off to in such a hurry?"

''Just Bill's backyard, Mrs. K'' Layla said, smiling at the woman. She was heavy-set, and a complete nutcase. She smothered Eddie with overprotectiveness, and he was embarrassed by it.

''I got a new..'' Bill started but couldn't finish the lie he was coming up with.

Richie stepped in, ''A new croquet set. Jeez, spit it out B-B-Bill!''

''Okay, also sweetie, don't go rolling around in grass. Especially if it's just been cut. You know how bad your allergies can get.''

''Yes, mom. Come on.'' Eddie tried pushing everyone out the door when his mom called for him again.

''Aren't you forgetting something?"

Eddie looked at his friends, before sighing. He walked over to her and leaned down, giving her a kiss on the cheek.

When Eddie came back, Richie was holding in a laugh. ''You want one from me too, Mrs. K?''

Eddie started yelling at him, and he managed to get his friends out of his mother-infested house.

Stan had met the four of them there, and already he was pointing out bullshit. "That's poison ivy, and that's poison ivy, and that's poison ivy.''

''What? Where's the poison ivy?" Eddie's panicked voice rang.

''Nowhere. Stan, not every plant is poison ivy.'' Layla said, huffing at him. "You're gonna give Eds a heart attack,''

Richie, Bill, and Layla began going inside the sewers. Layla gagged at the smell and sight of the entire thing. She grabbed the back of Bill's arm for support as she slushed around the water. He turned to her and smiled.

''Y-You'll be o-okay. I g-got you.'' Bill said.

She smiled sweetly towards him, ''Thanks Billy,''

"Okay, well I'm starting to get itchy now.'' Eddie started. "And I'm pretty sure it's not good for me.''

''Do you use the same bathroom as your mother?" Richie asked.

''Sometimes, yeah.''

''Then you probably have crabs.''

''That's so not funny.''

''Stop being an ass Richie.'' Layla scolded.

It was quiet, as Bill was flashing his light ahead, and Richie was looking at where the flashlight was going. Layla turned around to see Eddie and Stan just standing at the entrance.

''Aren't you guys coming in?"

''Nuh-uh. That's grey water.'' Eddie said.

''What the hell's grey water?" Both Richie and Layla asked.

''It's basically—piss and shit. So I'm just telling you, you guy's are splashing around in millions of gallons of Derry pee.'' Eddie explained.

Richie took it upon himself to lift up a stick, and bringing it to his nose.

Eddie began stuttering. ''Are you? Are you serious? What are you—''

''Doesn't smell like caca to me Señor.'' Richie said.

''Okay, I can smell that from here.''

''It's probably just your breath, wafting back into your face.'' Richie insulted.

Eddie let out a frustrated sigh, ''Have you ever heard of a staph infection?"

''I'll show you a staph infection,'' Richie taunted, throwing something unsanitary towards Eddie.

Layla was right next to Bill, and watched him pick up a shoe. It was white and filthy, and the white was a dark brown because of the water.

''Guys!'' Bill called, stopping the bickering of Eddie and Richie.

''Shit,'' Stan's voice cracked. ''Don't tell me that's,''

''No,'' Bill said. ''Georgie was wearing galoshes.''

''Whose sneaker is it?" Eddie asked.

Layla inspected the shoe, and saw B. Ripsom on the side. ''It's Betty Ripsom's.''

''Shit.'' Eddie cursed. ''Shit, oh god, oh fuck! I don't like this.''

''How do you think Betty feels?" Richie interrupted. "Going around these tunnels with only one freaking shoe.''

''What if she's still here?" Stan asked, his tone was uneasy.

Layla gripped Bill's arm tighter. The three of them advanced down the tunnels. ''Eddie, come on!'' Layla said.

''My mom will have an aneruysm if she finds out we're playing down here. I'm serious.'' Eddie argued.

''Bill? Layla?" Richie asked.

''We can't just leave. What if she's still actually here and she's lost?'' Layla said, looking at the boys. ''That's bullshit.''

''If I were Betty Ripsom, I would want us to find me. G-Georgie too.'' Bill added.

"What if I don't want to find them?" Eddie said, making all the teens look at him. "I mean, no offense Bill, but I don't want to end up like— I don't want to go missing either.''

Layla could see the hurt expression on Bill's face as Eddie spoke.

''He has a point,'' Stan said.

''You too?" Layla said, her tone pissed off.

''It's summer,'' Stan stated. ''We're supposed to be having fun. This isn't fun. This is scary and disgusting.''

A giant plash made them all turn their attention towards the river, where Ben from Soc was bruised, bloody, and dirty.

Layla lurched forward. ''Holy shit! Ben! What happened?"
