It was 13:45 home time when I arrived on planet Earth. The air was different than from my home planet. It coated my throat like a chalky mint. I walked into university of New Hampshire ready for my first day of classes tomorrow morning "at 9:00 am? " I say to mesel, my alien body and brain find this time concept very confusing on planet Earth.
I walk into my dorm trying to act human but it's hard. I have to copy me roommates actions to make sure that I'm doing it correctly. I've been waiting fir this days for what seems like eternities and I'm finally ready. I take a deep breath as I walk through the door and there they all are. Hustling around like I, my roommates seem nervous. When I greet them and say hello, they answer in a welcoming way reminding me of home. I tear up at the thought I'd my own planet but I'll have to get over my homesickness.
Looking around my room a take in what the others are doing, it's very interesting to think that humans are so stiff and awkward? Must be an Earth thing! I start awkwardly walking around the room like the others. Unpacking my clothes I find a picture if my family back at home and quickly hide it so my roommates don't see it. The noise is loud and everybody looks over.
"I'm sorry! I dropped it by accident!" I say
Everyone looks and giggles a bit but stiffly looks back down to their bags. I blush a bit and get back to unpacking. For another's hour or so we work on unpacking and organizing our section of the room the way I think is appropriate. When I start to get tired I go to sleep setting my alarm for the morning.
