Dressing up was indeed my thing a nice pencil skirt and and pumps would make me feel on top of the world.
But I couldn't afford nothing I like. My mama always say you can't have expensive taste and be broke, that don't mix. But I'll be somebody and show her I can be smarter than she think book smart ain't shit when it comes to the dirty west side of the NAP. I live in Haughville nothing more then a ghetto street family with a side of violence and OG' s still claiming they got game youngsta.
My auntie poked her head into my cousin room to see if I was up or something. She got a job offer in Virginia thats she accepted glady.
She said it's best for us and her cause we get to see gramma and she get a higher pay then her job here in Indiana.
So here we are at the airport waiting to board our 6:30am flight, but we're here at 6 o'clock 'claim she wanted to avoid the security lines.
I spent two days saying my goodbyes to my best friends, teachers and family ,nope no boyfriend because everyone look at me and say I'm decent, and pretty for a darksinn and ask me what I'm mixed with or you thick asf like don't nobody want to here that. Call me pretty for me. I'm black that's all, I'm all nigga.
Lemme stop im getting side tracked talking to myslef. I smile to myself on the outside because that was all just funny.
"Hello Genesis bring yo ass on before you get left here with your mama and we all know where you will be after that " my aunt said looking at me with furrowed brows and her eyes nearly out of her head.
I mentally rolled my eyes I wanted to say something so slick.
This was just us boarding the plane it was her 5 year old daughter as well.
Dream. This was me and Dreams first time I was sacred too but she was being embarrassing and a literal cry baby I wanted nothing but to be away from everyone.
We arrived in Virginia airport at 1pm the same day.
This was my life now no more running the streets in the Nap, no more of my friends not my school I secretly loved because I went there .
I'm literally a stranger to the whole state of Viriginia .
"When we get the house we can start unpacking so then go pick your schedule for school."
I groans in aggravation aloud that cause my aunt to look my way in the back of the taxi.
"What chu huffing and puffing for you going to school muthafucka" she said reassuring me.
"I know I'm just scared"
"I understand but you gotta got to be what you wanna be baby plus you don't have an option "
I just nodded and continued to listen to her tell me what she had planned for us so we could settle in, in a orderly fashion.
I would be forced to talk to people on Monday, wow.
